OUR CHRISTMAS in MANILA! Nowhere does Christmas like Philippines

Sunday morning in McKinley Hill. Welcome to a new video. It's Christmas. Just coming out for a morning stroll. A little bit too early. It's like 9am. We wanted to go to the mall. It doesn't open until 10. But Google said 9, so I was expecting to be able to walk through and then the shops open at 10 and just like look around and empty more. I don't know why. Don't believe everything you read on Google. Do you know what it said about me on Google? It said I was 24, which I'm actually alright with. I think it also said you're a multi-millionaire, did say that once. Yeah, it did, didn't it? Not sure I'm convinced on that, unless you have some wealth that I don't know about. It's debatable, you never know. What's that? So we've basically come for a walk further away from our condo than we've ever walked before. You know, it's weird. We filmed a video talking about this area once we just got the keys. No, once we just signed the paperwork and agreed to buy the condo and I remember like sitting here and getting a picture in the flowers in a dress. That's so true. I don't know what this is. Jessie. It's obviously like for someone's birthday or something, isn't it? Oh, is it? I thought it was like some cool like restaurant or something. I don't know. Well, Jessie, if you're watching, happy birthday. I don't know if it's birthday. If it's your birthday, whatever celebration. There's an outdoor gym here. What do you mean it's closed? I think it's more, I think it's more of a caution, more of like a be careful. So coming up on today's show, we wanted to show you guys the Christmas spirit. We are very close to Christmas now. And I mean, you guys know, if you've heard us talk about this before, Filipino Christmas, September to January. There's also this famous, very famous song. It's on Spotify. It's called Christmas is more fun in the Philippines. This couple, this like British couple made it, wrote the lyrics, wrote the music, performed it. It's official because it's on Spotify. It's on Spotify. You can go and stream it right now. Every year we get new streams on that song. It's really funny. Like four new streams. No, no. Like there's quite a lot actually. Is it in your Christmas playlist? And if it's not, it should be. And if you're a new viewer to the channel by new, I mean in the past, I think this song we made over two years ago, three years ago, maybe we made a Christmas song here in the Philippines in lockdown, in our apartment. We were bored one day. I don't know. We made a Christmas song, released it on Spotify and on the blog, like over a hundred thousand people have listened to it. Anyway, I actually quite like it. It's a good song. So go and check that out. It needs to be recorded better. Oh yeah. We need to get like a studio full band. One day we'll do it at some point. It'd be really, really cool. But yeah, Christmas is in full swing. BGC high street. We're going to head down there in a little while. We're going to finish up our morning walk, have some breakfast, meeting Kim and Tom later, Keto family. And we're going to be also trying some delicious food. That is beautiful, isn't it? Someone painted us. It's like someone's walking on the beach. This is so cool. Oh, there's about 15 of them coming today, I think. Yes. So we just parked up in BGC. This is cool angle. It's like a little car podcast thing. Koda's in the back. All right, mate. Kicking my chair. Yeah, cool. Thanks. Nice one. Thank you. Parking here is so cheap. We can park here for three hours for 50 pesos, which is under a pound, about 80p or something. What we did see earlier at Venice Mall, valet parking is 120 pesos for four hours. Someone takes your car for you and parks it for less than two pounds. Yeah, should we go and see a Raya? For less than two pounds. That's unbelievable. Yeah, we'll get some. Should we go out? However, that's great. It's very, very cheap. However, I only have 50 pesos left, so we physically can't be longer than three hours. Otherwise, we could just get cash out. I'm probably being dramatic. We're promoters of BGC. We are. Obviously, we've told you so many times we love this area right here, but places are different at different times of day, different days of the week. Same in the UK. London on a Tuesday is very different to London on a Saturday. BGC on a Sunday, something about it. It calms me. Even though it's busy and it's different to Saturday as well. Yeah. Hard to describe. Hard to explain. It's just this nice thing. Family's out. Daniel's got a huge queue now. Oh, yeah. He just went in there, didn't he? Yeah, we did indeed. Anyway, we are on the hunt for Kim and Tom. We're going to grab some coffee and then there's a new burger place that has opened and they have invited us to come and try some of their burgers, which is an invitation that I'm never, ever going to say no to. They're from Siargao. Yeah, from Siargao. So very, very cool. I don't know if they were there in Siargao when we were there, but we definitely didn't try them in Siargao. They're called Big Belly Burgers. Comment, maybe you've heard of them, maybe you've been there if you've been to Siargao, but opening up in Manila or in BGC in Forbes Town. So we're going to head there after some coffee. Oh, the wind's picking up. Oh, it's quite nice. Look at my hair. Hoda, who is it? Who is it? Who is it? Hello, guys. You okay? Hello, buddy. Always nice to see Kim and Tom, but extra nice, they have some special guests with them. Tom's parents, Tom's mum and dad are here in the Philippines, which is so, so cool. So we're just chatting to them whilst we're waiting for our coffee, getting their kind of first impressions of the Philippines, of Manila, of BGC. They're still kind of like adjusting to obviously the time zone from the UK is so different. They're on their way to Australia as well to visit some of their other family, and part of that they were saying is a surprise for the grandkids, stuff like that. So very, very special trip that they're on. So yeah, feel lucky that we got to see them whilst they were here. Koda finally had his reunion with Araya. Did you see Araya? But now all he wants to do is wander around the coffee shop. So I told Tom to try this. It's, what was it? Peanuts, cookie, brittle. You just told it to me, Lucy. It's really good. I told you to get it. I remember it being amazing. Oh good. Yeah, it's good. You don't like it? It tastes like a flat white. Yeah, it's nice. It's like a flat white but with a bit of like a peanutty, chocolatey sweat. My dream. Yeah. No, this is good. Cheers. Okay, the whole crew made it to the new burger restaurant, Beak Belly Burgers. And there's a lot of us here. Kim, Tom, all the kids. Here it is right in Forbes Town. This is where Lucy and I used to walk every night. We used to come out here because our old condo that we rented before was kind of round the corner there. And you know, we love burgers. So very excited to try this. So we've got the double smash burger here. So a double patty, double cheese. It's Wagyu beef. Very excited for this. It looks good, doesn't it? That's really good, isn't it? So much flavor in that beef. Oh, it's so good. Another burger stop in BGC that I want to go. I know, I know. Dangerous. Very dangerous. Wow. We should maybe do a burger tour one day. Start at Shake Shack, swing by here, go around to Sweet Ecstasy. The more the merrier. Yeah. Whoa. Big chicken burger just came out. Wow, guys. That was very, very good food. Exceptional burger. My kind of burger. Smash burger, double patty, cheese, onions, pickles, mustard. If I'm making you hungry, I do apologize. We even have a little bit left for takeout because we got to try some other stuff like the chicken tenders, the mozzarella sticks, cheesy fries. We didn't even have room for dessert. We could have had dessert. We're going to go home, enjoy the rest of this. Really cool for BGC to have another solid, reliable burger spot. You guys know, I mean, Lucy and I both love burgers, but you guys know just how much I love my burgers. If I could eat a burger, I think I could eat a burger every day. It's like that question that gets thrown around. If you had to only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be? For me, I think it could be a burger. I'm pretty sure I could wake up at like, I could probably wake up at 6am and eat a burger. Like, it wouldn't be an issue for me. Lucy said Indian food. What, at six in the morning? Nice spicy curry.
