So we've done it again.
We're running right into you.
We started a clip at the same time.
We've only eaten lunch today.
Yesterday we had
an early breakfast and then we didn't eat again
until like an early dinner.
But today we've only eaten
lunch? Only lunch.
Which was supposed to be breakfast
but we ended up going too late.
So now we are
going to order a feast.
A Filipino feast.
We should do like a contest.
How many plates can we eat?
We have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6,
7, 5, 4.
Prices. So to give you guys an example.
Fried rice with chicken.
110.
£1.64.
So the boys definitely said
they want lechon because they were missing it a lot.
Six types.
Six types of lechon.
We can skip the lechon too.
We'll definitely just
point on the pictures.
I like it easier.
So this menu is amazing.
I love that.
I love the lechon.
I'll show you what you order as well.
Guys, guys, guys, guys.
If we get hungry in the night,
this place is open 24 hours.
That's the best. We can just hop in Rochi
and just cruise down.
We should bring our laptops and just edit and eat
so we save time constantly.
There's loads of
different types of lechon down here
which I think we need to go for.
There's loads. There's rice.
Lots and lots of rice.
We're finally having dinner.
Look at the menu on this place
quickly.
So we have lechon kawali
guisado. What is guisado?
What are the best sellers?
Best sellers
in the home, sir,
or the family style?
What we'll do is we'll take the lechon kawali.
Hi, lechon kawali, sir.
How big are these portions?
It's good for four.
How big is it? Like this?
Lechon kawali
like this, sir.
Big plate or small plate?
Small plate.
We'll take the lechon kawali.
The chicken chop suey.
Chicken chop suey.
Maybe some fried noodles.
Lechon mamey.
Lechon mamey?
Garlic rice?
How many garlic rice?
Oh, you have
pandekoko?
If you have, then two pandekoko.
It's the most
amazing thing that you will
ever eat. It is a
pandesal, essentially, but it's
filled with some
coconut and sugar.
And it's so good.
Thank you.
We're relocating.
We need a bigger table for
the food that we've just ordered.
It doesn't really smell.
You have to tear it apart and then inside there is this.
It's really good.
It's really amazing when it just has come out of the oven.
That's like the best it can be.
One thing I've noticed that they don't have here
more than lechon that they have in Dela
is they'll have
coconut vinegar as well.
Thank you.
Nellie, try and get some in the plate as well.
What? Try and get some in the plate
as well.
Not that much.
Oh my god,
Nellie, stop.
The plate is going over. No, it's not.
This is the best combo.
Almost lost my calamansi.
Look how full it is.
A fork.
Somebody told me that you're not
supposed to eat the calamansi pips.
Oh, I definitely
have eaten some.
This looks amazing.
I thought you said small plate.
Oh yeah, we've got four of these.
Wow.
So we've gone for
four portions
of garlic rice.
This we thought
we tried to order a noodle dish
but it's come as like a soup
but it's got lechon in it so who cares.
That looks nice.
Chicken chop suey.
This was recommended by some of you guys
and the star of the show.
What was this called again? Lechon kawali.
Lechon kawali.
One of my favourite dishes in the Philippines.
Amazing. The skin looks crispy,
it looks juicy
and here we have the chicken wings.
Is it butter chicken?
It's butter chicken. It's like sticky, sweet
delicious butter chicken.
Okay, we need to tuck in.
And then for dessert, don't forget.
I'm going to try the
butter chicken.
I'm going to try the butter chicken first
because it's screaming at me.
It sat right next to me and it looks amazing.
Let's give this a go.
That's good. I was expecting it to be spicy
but it's really sweet.
Really?
It's not like a crispy coating, it's quite wet.
That doesn't taste like anything I've ever had before actually.
Really?
It's really sweet, a lot sweeter than I thought it would be.
So I'm going to try the lechon kawali now.
This is Mike's favourite dish in the Philippines.
Have we had this before?
No, we've never had this.
We've only had
straight lechon.
Is that a thing, like normal lechon?
I'm sure they'll let us know.
Ah okay, deep fried, perfect.
And it's been cooked with peppers and onions
and stuff, it looks really nice.
Good?
That's so nice, it's like the flavour
that I love in lechon.
You can definitely taste the onion
and stuff on the outside, but it's like
the meat's nicer.
I feel like lechon can be quite fat.
There's still fat on it, but the fat's
a bit soggy sometimes.
It's quite wet.
This is more like a chunky bit of meat.
That definitely looks deep fried.
So I'm going to tuck straight in
to this huge plate of chicken.
Well I probably should leave some for you.
To this huge plate of chicken wings.
It's messy, I've just grabbed in with my hands.
Smells good, smells sweet.
I know what you mean.
I'm getting like your reaction.
That's like a dessert.
Maybe it's too sweet for me.
It probably is a little bit too sweet
for what you associate chicken to be like.
But I'm not complaining,
it's tasty.
There's something else in there,
I don't know what it is, but I recognise the taste.
And it is delicious.
I'm terrible at describing food.
Glad we filmed a food video.
I've waited
all my life for this moment.
The return
of lechon.
Of lechon.
Okay, we're going in.
Some sauce, a bit of rice on there.
You put too big
a mouthful then you can't speak for so long.
I know.
Let me just enjoy this for a minute.
Alright, I'll leave you to it.
Totally agree with you.
That's kind of more
meaty isn't it, more solid meat.
A bit less fatty.
Really good taste.
Crispy skin.
Everything lechon should be.
Everything I've been dreaming of for the last week.
Very, very satisfied.
This dish looks really interesting.
It's not what we thought we were ordering.
Interesting fact, these little egg
noodles in here.
In Austria we have the same thing,
we call it pridaten.
Which is a beef broth
soup with these
egg noodles. Right, so instead of beef.
Exactly, lechon.
I can't wait to see how this turns.
Let me go in, I'm going to go straight in
with these because I know what egg tastes like.
This is interesting
because it's obviously been submerged
so I'm not expecting the skin to be crispy.
So I'm not expecting
the crispy skin like usual but
I'm guessing it's going to taste even better because it's been submerged
in the broth.
So moist.
That's incredible.
And actually the skin still has some crisp to it.
That's so good.
Even that on it's own,
it's like a really nice kind of salty
soup, really good flavour.
Sorry guys,
cut that bit.
The flavour's gone right through.
That is delicious.
I'm going to have one more bit of that before sharing this.
George and Lucy already mentioned it's very sweet.
Let's try it.
I'm going to try the chicken chop suey.
There's some rice on the lens thing.
Is there?
Sorry about that guys.
You've got to get involved with these food videos.
Just trying the chicken chop suey now.
So it's like broccoli,
carrot,
some beans,
cabbage.
So loads of different vegetables.
I'm going to give it a go with some rice.
It feels nice to have some vegetables.
I feel like we've been a bit lacking
in vegetables for the past few days.
They're really nice. They're kind of crunchy.
Some are crunchy, some are soft.
There's loads of different textures.
It's quite a light chicken flavour with a few bits of chicken
thrown in.
But it's really nice actually.
I have the honour to introduce
Lucy to Pan de Coco,
which is one of my favourite
Filipino desserts.
It is actually just a little
bun filled with
coconut and sugar.
It smells really good.
I'm just letting you try because I already know how it tastes.
That's so nice.
Usually when you get it in the morning out of the oven
it's so fluffy.
I can imagine it being really nice.
It's soft and
slightly sweet.
We'll have to find some in this month.
Really good.
This meal cost like 800 pesos
which is nothing
for how much we ordered.
We're all really stuffed now.
But it's good editing fuel for later because we've got to edit some videos
and do some work tonight back at our apartment.
My favourite was definitely
the lechon as always.
I really like the chop suey as well.
That was really nice and it's fresh.
The rice was amazing.
It's the most basic thing
but it was so good.
