Good morning guys. Welcome back to a brand new day in Manila. Hope you're all doing well.
It's a nice sunny blue sky day here and we're swimming at the pool at Wakonda. Blue sky
day. Kodo loves a shallow pool because he really likes walking in deep water. Water
that's like up to here for him. He finds it hilarious. I don't know why. Maybe it's because
you're kind of weightless and it's almost like you're on the moon or something. And I guess
kids don't quite understand the idea of gravity and how water makes you feel weightless,
but he can still walk and his feet are down. It must be quite a weird sensation, but he loves it.
Anyways, today is a fun day. We have got some plans soon to meet a good couple of friends of
ours here in Manila and catch up. We've got a few more days here until we fly to an island,
which is really exciting. So while we're here, we're just making the most of seeing friends,
eating some good food and just enjoying being in Manila. Manila is like a second home to us. So
when we're here, we treat it more like we are home as opposed to on like a holiday or a vacation.
We don't like go and sightsee particularly anymore because we were here for so long,
but it's more somewhere we come just to like live and just enjoy seeing people. So yeah,
that's the plan. And I think we're getting some Korean barbecue and we're meeting with
Mike and Gray. So very excited to catch up. Haven't seen them in ages, but we thought we'd
come for a quick swim first because it's a good way to cool off and watch the planes. We're right
on the flight path here because we're at McKinley and there's so many planes. And at nighttime,
George and I watch the planes coming in. It's dark. You can see light after light and they're
like crazy amounts. I don't know if Manila is like a particularly, I guess there's rankings
on airports in the world of like how many planes take off. And I feel like Manila has to be quite
high because it's just constant, like the amount of people coming in and out. And I know, I don't
know, travel's weird, isn't it? There's people constantly just bopping around the world. But
anyway, that's enough deep chat. If you're new around here, please subscribe. Loads of fun videos
to come, but we hope you're enjoying this little Manila series. I'm very expressive with my hands
today. But yeah, we're going to enjoy a swim now and we'll catch up with you guys in a bit.
Swimming off in that shot, but it turns out the pool is so shallow. I just scraped my knees
across the floor. Not as glamorous as you think this vlog is going to be.
This is cool. Yes. We've come to Tong Yang, which I think is like a chain of restaurants,
but they've recently opened in McKinley. So we're going to have some delicious food.
This is really cool. Lucy's going to take Coda for a little walk. We're actually meeting Mike
and Grey here, who we haven't seen since our last trip. So it's been quite a long time. Hello. Thank
you. Ah, nice. Oh, okay. Great. Thank you. All right. So we get a little soup choice to begin
and then it looks like we go and choose all of the things we want to cook and cook it ourselves.
I haven't done one of these. I think it was in Manila actually, but before that, the time I
really remember is in South Korea. We went to, I cannot remember the name of the place now,
but it's in the vlog. Really, really cool, authentic experience. And to have this here as
well. So near our place. Very, very cool. Yeah. Quite excited to try this. It looks like they've
got a tonne of different stuff here. So we're here with Grey and Mike. No idea where Mike is.
Oh, there he is. Hello. How's it going? Very good.
How are you? I'm very well. You look very well. Very well fed. Mike. Hello. Coda remembers your
name. Who's that? Mike. It's Mike. Squid. Yeah, there's fish as well. I don't know if you wanted
some fish. Yeah, we could get a little bit. But maybe some fish. Careful, there's a fitting on
top. I've always been worried. Where are you? Coda, louder. Say louder. Louder. I've realised
what's happening coming to a place where you cook for yourself. It's just like me being back
at home and George just gets me cooking for him. That's very true. They've not cooked. It's just
us cooking. It's just every time it's like that. You know what Mike asked me? He said to me,
I said one time, why did you just let me cook and you never helped me cook? And he said,
oh, I thought you enjoy it. Oh my. I think I've said that. I think I've said that as well. Oh,
you like it? Yeah. I mean, you do it so often. You must enjoy it. And I thought we've been
together 10 years. I've cooked you breakfast, lunch and dinner for 10 years. That's ridiculous.
Well, it will be in November. Yeah, coming up.
Oh, he's saying Mike, come back.
Mike.
That was really nice. An evening of Lucy cooking for me, just like as if we were at home really.
But no, really nice to catch up with Mike and Grey. We didn't actually end up putting the camera
on too much because we were just genuinely chatting, catching up. The old days we'd like
vlog so much at meals, but these days, I don't know, tend to get carried away with talking
because we don't see these people very often when we meet up with people here. So we just make the
most of it when we do see them. Yeah, definitely. Our first experience of that particular restaurant,
it was, I mean, it was good. It was nice, tasty. It had 4.9 stars. So we had a very high expectation.
Yes. And I would say they probably weren't met. Not quite. I think we all agreed, but we have had
the authentic experience in Korea, like Korean barbecue. It's good. I probably would go again,
but it wasn't like mind blowing like some other places that we have eaten at, but really good
to try these places out. Look really nice inside. Cool little Saturday night dinner. One comment,
the chair and the table had like this much gap. So if you eat lots of meat and you get bloated,
you'd have to like squeeze yourself out of the booth. So we're just going to have a quick stroll.
We love walking out in the evening here. Koda spotted something, but this is like one of our
evening strolls that we love to do. It's a more, it's a short one. It's just more relaxed. It's
just kind of around the outskirts of the Venice mall in McKinley. But it was fun to catch up
with those guys. Um, talk about like what they've been up to, what we've been up to. Wow. Dinosaurs.
What's that? Koda loves dinosaurs. But yeah, good to chat about what they've been up to this year,
what we've been up to, their future plans, our future plans. We were kind of talking about,
I don't know, like walking around here, going back into our condo that we're selling. Evening. Hello.
And they were kind of asking us what our plan is longterm. And like, obviously we're traveling
again. We're selling this condo. We haven't got another condo. And for the first time in a long
time, in what seems like years, we actually kind of don't know. We were saying, well, we don't
really know. We're, we're just kind of at the moment going with the flow. We've got a few,
like the next few months planned and a little bit of early next year planned. But that's it. Like
normally we, we've never been people for like 10 year plans, five year plans. We're very much like
see how it goes, see what happens, see how life pans out. But yeah, for the first time we feel
like we don't quite know what we're doing next. Not in like a negative way, maybe, but more just
like a different way to how we used to. Yeah. I'll say spoiler alert. We do definitely want
another baby at some point. We're not sure when, but that also makes me a bit nervous for like,
how we also want to travel more and like splitting between the UK and some Philippines,
some other countries, some more travel. Having like two, which means that if one of us needed
to do something, what the other one would have to have two children, as opposed to right now,
it's just one kid, one person. If it was two, it'd be two of us, two of them. It's harder. You don't
have your hands free as much. Yeah. And then you get to three kids and then you're outnumbered.
Yeah. So it's like. Yeah, yeah, definitely. It's going to be weird. It's like an excited nervousness.
Yeah. Kind of like, Oh, what's that going to be like? But that feeling is quite unique for me
personally, because since we started traveling in 2018 and stuff, and with all the decisions that
we've made, where we've lived, places we've rented, places we've bought and moved into and
moving back to the UK and having the baby, Coda, like all these decisions have been planned and
laid out in advance. And we've been kind of aware of what was going on. And then we can decide,
make a decision, live through it and before it's happening, come to terms with it in our heads.
But right now we're at this kind of, I wouldn't call it a crossroads because it's baby number
two is still not going to be for a little while, but we're kind of at this place now for the first
time in years where someone asks us what our plan is next few years and longer term. And we're kind
of like, we don't really have an answer. We don't really know. And part of that does make me nervous,
but more of me is excited. I think Lucy's the same. We've also been very good at kind of going
with the flow and kind of seeing what happens, but this is such a nice evening atmosphere out
here. This is one of my favorite little areas, little secret spot. Well, not so secret spot.
Hello. How are you? Thank you so much. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Good to meet you.
Take care. And so nice bumping into you guys who watch the videos as well. But one thing I can say
is that we are absolutely loving the travel life again. We are a little way in now and we're kind
of already used to it again, like hotels, moving around, luggage, flights, airport, seeing friends,
having dinners. It's just so, um, so much stimulus all the time, which I think does suit us. We do
like our quieter days as well, which we haven't had many of lately. We love our house in the UK
and our countryside walks getting very loud with Christmas music. So yeah, I just feeling super
grateful that we have this kind of life where we can experience both. We can do these things, but
yeah, the future. Comment below. Are you someone who worries about the future? Do you get nervous
about the future? Do you go with the flow? Do you plan ahead? Are you like a five, 10 year planner?
Um, it'd be super interesting. Like sometimes on the vlog, we talk and talk about us and our
feelings and our thoughts. It would be really, really cool for you to comment below your kind
of opinion on this, on that subject. And then I can read, it might make me like feel a little bit
better. It might make me, I'd love to hear some of your stories, what you're going through as well.
Make this like a two way, two way kind of thing. So yeah, if any of what I've been saying has
related to you in any way, then do leave a comment below. That's so funny because I've got no idea
what you said, but if anything I've been saying, I'm like, I don't know because I've not been there.
Okay. I feel like we need to get Koda on one of these at some point. I think he's,
he's definitely too small, but that's crazy. Only in the Philippines, only in the Philippines.
