Dubai is NOT What We Expected! Is It Worth Visiting in 2024?

Good morning guys. Welcome to another daily juice, another daily travel vlog. We are here in Dubai airport. We've traveled around eight hours total, maybe nine, to and from our home to come to Starbucks. We don't even go to Starbucks when we're at home, but needs must. That was a long flight, but we are starting a brand new day now. It is, I actually need to change my watch because it's coming up for 6am in the UK. However, in this country, it's not 6am. Just put the taxi. Your captain is on the way. I love that they call it captain. Meet your captain in car park two. Oh, right. We need to go. Okay. Let's go. Yeah. Party in a taxi. That's so cool. We booked a taxi, a Korean car and you get to choose an option for family and there's a car seat included. So amazing. And it was here instantly. Yeah. Oh, look at this. It's beautiful. We've arrived in our room. We're going to give you a full room tour in a second, but we're just going to get all our stuff in. Where are we going to park them? It does feel like we were just in Wagamama's. Anyway, we have just checked into the Days Hotel by Wyndham. Deira, I think is the name of the area we're in. D-E-I-R-A. Deira. That's how I pronounce it anyway. And it's a really lovely room. It's like a suite. So we've got a little seating area just here with a TV. There's a toilet at the front door just there. A lovely little table and chairs here with some fresh fruit, which we're going to have in a second. And then you go through into the bedroom and it's this beautiful big open bedroom. Really nice. Panoramic views. We've got an amazing floor to ceiling window view here. To kick off the trip. Really cool start, isn't it? Yeah. To kick off the trip with a room like this. Unbelievable. Here we are. So we've got a nice big bed here. Koda's been climbing all over it. We've got a little dressing table here with some tea and coffee bits. A dressing room here. It's just a really nice use of space. It feels more like an apartment. All the essentials. Really nice. Another lovely view here. I want to go and check this out later. It looks really cool. We're staying in quite like it feels quite authentic, this area. There's loads of like gold and jewellery stores and it doesn't feel like a particularly tourist spot, which I like. I don't like staying in tourist spots as much as staying maybe where like the locals live and work because I think that's a lot more of an authentic experience. We've got a nice floor to ceiling mirror. And then, oh, what am I doing? This way. Open up here. We've got a really nice bathroom. So amazing start to the trip. Very excited to be here. Spoiler alert, we're only staying in this hotel for one night before going to another one. So get ready for another room tour in the next vlog. But cool. Someone's got like an open balcony at the top there. That must be the craziest view ever. George has already given up and is lying on the bed. I'm done. What time in the morning is it? You know we said we're daily vlogging. I got some other ideas now. No, I'm joking. 10 in the morning in the UK. No, it's not. It's 10 in the morning in Dubai. 10 in the morning in Dubai. 7 in the morning in the UK. So we've already checked in actually. The room was ready really early. So we're basically waiting for them to bring up a travel cot because Coda needs a nap. And as much as I'd like to say we're going to nap, we need to edit a vlog. Hilarious, George. This is really funny. I thought they put a magazine out next to the fruit for us to read. I literally glanced at it, the photo, and looked over it. I've looked again. I was like, why are we on it? And I was like, has someone used our photo? And then I realised, no, they've printed it out for us, which is really cool. Look at this. That's us in Dubai. That's us in Dubai last time we were here. In the desert. That's so cool. That's amazing. But it looks legit. It looks like a real magazine cover. Maybe we should go into that. Very cool. Luxury family travel. Lucy D'Agostino and George Warrington. Love it. That is a very, very nice touch there. I love that. Okay guys, we are heading in a taxi again and going down to the beach. Curtis in the back. Once again, all safe, strapped in, feeling good. Sunset's coming as well. I know. Very nice. Super nice. So we have been dropped off at a place, if you're a viewer of the channel from like going back three or four years, we were in Dubai last in 2019 and one of our good friends subscribed to the channel who we have been in touch with, who still lives here, we may be seeing in a few days, brought us to this exact place and it was super quiet. And it's super quiet again. However, are the beaches busy? We were thinking like, where's the atmosphere at? This is like so cool. There's all these restaurants and bars and shops, but as you can see, like it's super dead. From memory, they've got so many of us filming, so we should probably put the phone down. We'll try and film what we can. We will do. But yeah, last time we got told off for filming, that's why we brought the iPhone out, not the massive Sony camera. Oh wow. This is cool though. Yeah. As you can see, the beach itself is a little bit busier. Actually very busy. This is what we wanted, some sort of sunset beach atmosphere. Looks nice. And then go down like further along. Yeah. It's so weird, it's like some abandoned area though. It's bizarre. Yeah, it is like, this reminds me of like a video game or something. Yeah, exactly. That's what I was thinking. This is like, we've been to some hot countries, as you know, if you watch the channel. This is like the temperature of Cody's normal evening bath. What do you think? Wow. It's so warm, isn't it? Yeah, it's warm. What a nice way to end off the day. Sunset just behind us. Coda's water in shot of course. Of course. We look a bit drowned, don't we? We do. We look beachy already. We've been here less than a day. So nice. So plan now is hotel back. Sorry, not hotel back to the taxi. Taxi back to the hotel. And then into some dinner. We're very hungry. So we're excited to show you hotel dinner this evening. Lots of food on the way. No, I'm not in a sauna. I am in Dubai. This is the reality of vlogging in a country that, let's do a quick temperature check. You'll slowly see my face appearing more and more as this clip goes on. So guys do bear with me. It does happen eventually. The weather is currently 30 degrees at 7.30 at night. So it's super warm. I can't believe this lens. Let me try and wipe it. That hasn't helped too much, but it's a bit better. And I've come up to the rooftop. We've come up for dinner at Day's Hotel here. And there's this crazy red moon. Little rooftop up here. And let me just show you around the corner as well. It's really beautiful. But we are eating indoors just because of how hot and humid it is. And it's obviously better for Coda. Coda, bless him. We, I don't know what we last vlogged actually. We got back from the beach and we went to a little supermarket to get some water and things to stock up the fridge. As we do when we travel. Is that from today? Oh, it's beautiful. And he fell asleep in the taxi on the way home because he was that tired. So he was just lying out on the bed in his towel from the beach. He's now patiently waiting for his pasta. We had to wake him up to give him a bath. Did you go to the beach? He's just the sweetest. I can't. Are you the cutest? So they are looking after us here very well. They've made Coda's special pasta for him. So it's like not spicy. It's come out not too hot. It's not salty. Just some like tomato flavors in there. Lucy and I have ordered some chicken tikka. Some, what else did we order? I can't even remember. Yeah. We'll show you when it arrives. But super hungry today. We haven't eaten much. Kind of on purpose, as Lucy said in one of the previous videos. The only thing we've eaten today is those sandwiches that you guys saw earlier. So we are very ready for this dinner. The food has arrived. It looks so good. We're going to tuck in and enjoy this. Guys, this looks amazing. We've got some bread, which is delicious by the way. It's like a focaccia. We've got some veg to keep our veg up on this trip. We have to keep ordering veg. We've got a Greek salad with some chicken, some more chicken here with like all this Greek like tzatziki and feta cheese, olives, and an amazing looking chicken tikka at the back with some sauces and stuff. But it just looks really yummy and we're really hungry. I'm really happy. Okay guys, hope you can hear me okay with this music. Lucy has taken Koda back to bed because he's very, very tired. Bless him. He's going to get some sleep. Then we're going to get some sleep. Before that, I may go to the gym. If there's some shots of me in the gym, I went to the gym. If there's no shots of the gym, I potentially did not go to the gym, but we only flew in this morning. But an amazing day here in Dubai. Really nice dinner at the hotel. Finishing up my virgin mojito on the rooftop terrace. This is a super nice area. I didn't know they had this until Lucy pointed it out. But I'm going to end this vlog here.
