Flying Long Haul with a Baby! (UK to Philippines)

[Music] I've been thinking about how to start that video for a while that was as good as I was gonna that was as good as it's gonna get welcome back to a brand new video today is an incredibly exciting Day cue the dramatic music this video starts in the UK I also considered doing the worm to start this video as a kind of celebration of excitement and then I thought if I do that I'm probably gonna hurt my back and then I suddenly started feeling really old um so but welcome back to a brand new video I'm currently in my travel outfit I'm actually wearing a full tracksuit of George's because it's very comfy and baggy because we have a very long day ahead of us we have a 24 hour travel day with a one-year-old baby like this video to give us good luck to send us Good Vibes and make sure you're subscribed for a lot of travel Vlogs coming very very soon this is number one we are headed to the airport today we've got a few hours until we leave we are all packed up we've got the final few bits to pack and then we are driving to Gatwick Airport and flying to Dubai and then from Dubai we are landing in Manila in around 24 hours around 27 hours from now and today's actually a bit different to the usual travel day because we're also having to completely clear our kitchen out because having a new one fitted whilst we're away so there's like two layers of confusion this is the current state of it so it's not just like we're leaving and having to remember everything and traveling halfway across the world and we're also having to make sure everything's arranged and sorted for the kitchen and everyone's lined up for like electricians plumbers plasterers Carpenters everyone's ready to go yes that's right guys we have been waiting for this day and it is finally finally here I've been packing up all the gear we need we've actually gone a lot lighter than we used to travel in terms of camera gear and all the stuff we carry to make these videos I've pretty much managed to get everything we need including this little tripod I'll link this below this is an awesome tripod for your phone to get like Quick photos and content and stuff we've managed to fit everything we need for this trip into this bag we have some suitcases ready to go here and for once in our lives which is very rare for lucinai we've been pretty prompt we've been pretty early with the packing so we're actually at stage where all of our clothes are already in the suitcases but yeah I just can't believe we're going to be in the Philippines again so soon it feels I don't know it feels like we kind of it feels like a while ago since our last trip because it was it was when was it it was the uh 20 um do you know since cope since a pandemic and everything I have so lost track with the years I've lost track since about 2020. like in my mind sometimes I'm still like it's 2020 2021 but it's 2023 so we were in the Philippines last year and that was our first trip back for a very long time over a year so it's been slightly less this time we're just so excited to go we're very excited it's a long long travel day today we're gonna take you guys with us if anyone has traveled with kids then please give us your virtual support because I think we're gonna need it Coda is amazing but he's also a one-year-old and it's gonna be a long day it's gonna be a long travel the first flight is at night so we're hoping you might sleep on that but now I've just said that he probably won't probably be up all night then he's gonna have to adjust to the time difference it's gonna all be fun and games my dad is very kindly picking us up very soon then we're heading to Gatwick Airport in London we're gonna get some dinner at the airport bring you guys along every step of the way welcome to another travel Vlog very excited for this trip we get to see all our friends in Manila we get to see our condo again we get to see some new places we get to see friends we haven't seen on the last trip who we're managing to catch up with more this time friends we did see on the last trip people haven't seen for years we've been lining up a lot of stuff we're doing more traveling in the Philippines this time we're not just staying in Manila there will once again be a beautiful stunning Beach on the Vlogs very very very soon if you're not subscribed please hit the Subscribe button ready to go can you say hi yeah hi yeah hi yeah yeah oh yeah [Music] it's really grinning foreign are you ready yeah hello [Music] ready to go we're all loaded up we've got bags everywhere that we can we didn't have a pound for the trolley so we're yeah you need a pound coin for a luggage trolley at Gatwick yeah which we just didn't have so we're just like the old days not the very odd days when we are very quick because I'm still in the lips oh yeah you come out traveling with a baby half 64. pretty slow slow elevators he was having a good time we are through security I'm off to get some dinner we're getting there we're getting hungry and we also need a little coffee as well wow well here we go oh no [Music] room for a small one it would be yeah where's the small one ready okay so yeah pretty really smoothly but the premium security again so it's a bit quicker wow and we're gonna get some food and we're gonna figure out how we're gonna get for this five that's the plan for the next hour just don't think about the flight we're going into the ceiling this is horrible [Music] okay we all sat down at dinner going well so far I managed to get a little Oak Coffee Oak flat white at pret not my favorite coffee but in the airports a little bit more limited choice on coffee but it's doing the job I will say one thing we're already adjusting we're already getting some practice with the Manila heat because it's boiling in here we're sat right next to the kitchen granted but we both had to take a layer off so currently in a t-shirt having a boiling hot coffee with some dinner on the way little time check 1740 so we have about two hours until we board hopefully a nice chilled dinner nice relaxing time and then we can get going for leg one of the journey we have two flights today first flights to Dubai and then we have a little layover then on to Manila many many hours ahead of us but for you guys it's like a few minutes I'm already opened two of the many snack packets I bought for Coda and I haven't probably bought as many as I should have done with how when he's eaten so far but we have ordered him a mini capture Curry which sounds adorable and I can't wait to see him have his first in a capsu curry and he's currently destroying menus and which is fine doing this one well I just wanted to say how kind everyone's been so far we've had so many nice conversations at Gatwick there was a lady that started chatting to us one of the staff here and we've had a really nice long chat with her about bringing up Coda and both sort of being really present in the parenting and about her kids and everything it was really lovely and then who else we had another nice one the guy that was checking Us in and taking our luggage we were way over on way and he was like it's all good you guys are nice people I'm gonna let you off because words were because of the kids and you guys have been nice we're gonna let you off so don't say his name and get him into trouble yeah you're a hero is that what it cost us quite a lot of money because we were way more over than I thought I'd ever be but now oh this this happened last time George's food arrives first and then I had to sit waiting and staring at it and I looked good say something nice I mean I haven't tried it yet but what are you doing I'm trying to film for Instagram as well yeah we are going to be uploading a ton of Instagram content on this whole trip loads of reels and stories and stuff so I'll put my Instagram or Instagrams on the screen here and you can give us a follow to keep up to date because these Vlogs I think we're gonna be uploading these Vlogs every other day just to make it more sustainable we're going to be vlogging every single day but uploading every other day because otherwise there's no time we can't physically edit and film Vlogs we're the one-year-old as well as sort of enjoying ourselves and having a good time and seeing friends and making fun videos as well we can't physically edit every single day for that so if you want to be more up to date with what we're seeing on the day of doing it then on Instagram to be the place to be but yeah I'm just gonna wait for my dream to come I'm Sarah George who's not offered me any of his yet you're welcome oh my god I've just gone all shaky and jelly like oh my God I wish I could I had to stop recording yet this was here oh indeed with my glass of water on my glass of water flew from this side of the table right the way to here look it's finished and I caught it just before it smashed onto the floor I blow jelly and shaky and hot you know when something happens and you oh adrenaline oh gosh that was scary trying to give Coda some rice because he normally loves it [Music] I also taught Coda how to say coffee [Music] thank you [Music] Hoda what's this what's this coffee coffee does cats use arrived he's currently throwing it on the floor can you eat that good boy you like sweet corn yucky udon udon noodles prawns chicken eggs vegetables and there's like fish flakes on top [Music] so all very smooth so far we finished our dinner and now we found a little kids area for Coda to play around and he's crawling around screaming his head off in there with Lucy which is very nice because last time we booked a lounge and we thought that would be a good idea but turns out it wasn't the best of it because the food wasn't great in there it was quite expensive and we were just kind of stuck in there with not a lot to do yes we had some more seating Etc but you can find that around the airport so this time we didn't bother with the lounge we put the money into a nice dinner and we did that instead but I'm loving the airport experience again then the last time we did this kind of long-haul travel I think we got so sick of airports from traveling non-stop for three years and at one point taking multiple flights per week it became very normal it became very routine it became very unexciting but airports are exciting again I'm just kind of like doing a bit of people watching while I'm waiting for Lucy encoder I think so many people's stories people are off to meet relatives that I haven't seen for years or they're off to catch up with friends or they're going to a new country for the very first time or they're returning home from a huge trip or something everyone's got their own story walking around as we always say travel just opens up your mind it opens up everything and just coming to the airport is the first step of that time check 10 to seven we are boarding in our boarding starts in about 40 minutes and then we can get this journey properly underway [Music] I saw you from across the room when our eyes met I never knew feel this way and it's kind of strange don't even know your name [Music] look at my face this guy slept for one hour on this flight one hour and that's the smile we get about to land in Dubai [Music] how nice is this isn't it it's a good one yeah I was I kind of now wish I mean look at how well that is this isn't behind me is it how green this is this is such a nice airport I was just walking through and I was thinking I wish I didn't eat every single gram of my airplane meal and I kind of wish I was a little bit hungry because there's so many good restaurant options and spots here ah but this is nice we can grab a little squat oh Sit down you're here on this fake grass you don't get this everywhere every airport Coda can have a little play around because he's a very tired lesson that first flight was okay it was challenging but um he slept for one hour and it's meant to be his bedtime yes that should have been uh for Coda maybe a 10 hour sleep if we were at home so he's had less than 10 of his sleep but we just met some viewers of the Vlog so if that was you working at the Buy Airport hello to you and we have about an hour maybe until our flight to Manila and then we will be on the final stretch [Music] so we just grabbed a bottle of water in Dubai airport and Lucy just got the uh we have the banking on our apps that says like the currency conversion uh what is it AED here yeah I know it's pretty expensive as airports to buy three pound four pounds you'd be annoyed at four pounds right yeah what if I told you it's very expensive it's more than four pounds how much more it's more than just showing me just tell me more [Music] enjoy this [Music] they sent me a snake what does a snake say good boy it was too scary so I sent him back so they sent me a what's that monkey what does the monkey say okay flight number two inside this book nice we are on the way now finally heading there I mean still what was this nine hours I said to George we bought an entire work day until we get there but it's all good I'm not feeling you don't work nine hours but this flight we've got good seats we've got the usual front of the rosie with a leg room but the previous flight we were behind Mama on the screen the last flight we had a seat right in front of us and he just wanted to grab the seat smack it kick it play with the screen it was a difficult flight because of that I think he's been amazing but there's just so much around him that we had to keep stopping it from doing he was trying to climb up the stairs to business class like and he was getting started telling him not to yeah because he was like laughing as he was running up the stairs and I was pulling him down he's getting upset because obviously we can't let him crawl upstairs on an airplane especially into business class yeah we grabbed our credit card and just started running upstairs trying to get into business worth it no it might be wouldn't I don't know we like we just had to walk through business class to get onto this flight we never fly I don't know if it was 10 more even like 20 more yeah we'd maybe consider it it's like 400 more it's more than double the price it's like triple price like I said 400 or something like that yeah yeah I think you can see where we are a little tired [Music] in England yesterday this is up to I would love to watch like a 2019 juicy Vlog travel day yeah um right now and see like how we're different and how much younger will you look you look so old this is now like modern day juicy Vlog yeah with a family with a kid I wouldn't change it for the world no absolutely not and we're still out here doing it when are we going to retire oh next year I think so guys because this Vlog is already fairly long we are going to split this into two so come back tomorrow to see our very first day in Manila wow we have a friend very kindly picking us up from the airport so that's very exciting can't wait to see her [Music] um straight to the condo we're gonna see it again for the
