Our Poor Baby...
It was just about bedtime when Merryn and the other girls were playing a game that resulted in a late night trip to the ER.
Fall asleep, okay. We need to stay awake. I know you might be tired, but we need to
try to keep our eyes up because we're almost to the hospital, okay?
Hey, we're here.
You okay? How are you feeling?
Do you want to see the back of your head?
Okay?
I'm out getting Israel cut. They took her in with Danielle. They're gonna put a bandage on her
and yeah, this is crazy. It's literally crazy because she was climbing on something earlier
in a different room and like right before dinner and I said, hey, you need to stop because
you're gonna feel like she could have fallen and hit her head on a bookcase we had there
or bookshelf and I was like, you need to stop because you're gonna fall and you're gonna hit
your head. You're gonna bust it open and we're gonna be going to the hospital and I ain't got
time for that right now and literally an hour later, she's in a different room, falls, busts
her head and we're in the hospital. Am I prophetic? I don't know. I'm not trying to be though.
Oh my goodness. What is happening here? Hey daddy. What did they do to you? You look amazing.
Oh my goodness. What else did they do? He just took her weight. They hooked you up, didn't they?
You want to see?
Hey, how long have we been here now? Maybe. How you doing? You tired? Yeah, I know.
Does it hurt or are you tired? Mostly tired. I know that's how emergency rooms are but I also know
with like wounds like that, you want to close them quickly because the skin if it starts to like dry
out then it's harder to close. Yeah, it won't heal as like seamlessly. You'll have more of a scar
So our neighbors, our amazing neighbors are staying with our girls right now so hopefully
things are going okay there because anyway so hopefully they can get five kids to live.
Tell me if it hurts, okay?
I'm afraid you don't have to be too shy to say something like that. How old are you?
Three. Oh, I'm like yeah, what does that mean? Well, about to give Marion some staples.
Right like this.
Is it on your arm?
They said it's gonna be like a pinch. I feel like and then he said like a pristine and like
those are two very different things like I know what a pinch feels like but bee sting freaking
sucks so if it's gonna be a bee sting then can we let it off with more numbing because
getting stung by four bees back to back isn't gonna be fun but if it's like sharp pinch
okay but bee sting pain lingers, you know what I'm saying? I don't think that was the best call
to compare it to that. So, Marion needs staples in her head, right?
Okay, he said just because it's so deep and now
when cuts first happen I feel like if you're like really quick you can, you know what I mean,
like stitches might have been enough but it's been like two hours so this thing that was like
just deep originally is now deep and wide.
You're done.
He said that was gonna hurt a little. You know why? Because he had to fix you.
You did so good. Let me show you. You want to see the picture before?
You want to see what it looked like? Why he had to fix it? You want to see how he had to fix it?
Here. See, this is what it looked like before. See, that's a big cut. That's your skin there
and there. It was open. You see how open it is? So now it's closed because he had to put
these staples in it. See the staples? They're holding it closed. We just got home. It's one
o'clock. Israel's about to go to bed. Daniel's laying Maren down getting her settled and then
the rest of us are going to sleep so we'll give y'all an update in the morning.
Israel, you stinker. There's Maren. How you feeling today? Better? Your head hurt?
Come here. Give me hugs. What?
Did that make you feel better or worse? It made you feel worse when mommy took off the bandage?
She's feeling better. She seems to be a little sore but overall she's doing really good.
