Why on earth is it snowing?
It's snowing.
I've just finished getting ready for the day, wearing my summer's dress.
Yeah.
I'm literally wearing a summery dress.
And it's snowing, why is it snowing?
It was sunny yesterday.
Is this global warming, fool thoughts?
I don't know.
This is weird.
Really, George was like, oh, it's gone really dark because it was sunny a minute ago.
And then he was like, nope, it's snowing.
I was like, no, it's not.
And then look at it, it's really heavy.
There we go.
Okay.
Yeah, I can't believe it's snowing.
That's quite crazy in April in England.
Stopped again now.
Anyway, today's vlog is a little bit different because I have completely screwed my back.
I've done something to my back, basically.
If you follow me on Instagram, you'll know all about this.
And I want to talk about this now before we get any further into the vlog and be accused
by some people of never getting to the point of the vlog title until too late in the vlog
or being accused of not talking about things at all in the title.
Vlog titling is weird because it's so hard to title a 15-20 minute vlog where so many
different things happen and still try and capture people's attention.
Or to be honest, to let YouTube do its thing with showing the video to people.
So we do sometimes get comments that our titles are exaggerated or whatever.
But we try and always...
I don't know.
I always think of it like newspaper headlines.
You have to try and draw people in, I guess.
And it is more often or not down to YouTube and how it shows videos to people if you use
certain...
I don't know.
Just know that we know.
But yes, I wanted to address my back.
Yeah, what have I done?
So we went to the supermarket yesterday and I was getting out of the car.
Went round to Koda's door, lifted his car seat out as I do every single day.
Went to lift his car seat onto the buggy frame and in that upward movement something just
went in my back.
Like completely went.
I've had lower back pain before but this was like middle and upper.
I felt it was like the sharpest pain I've ever felt.
I yelled out in pain in the middle of the car park and Lucy looks at me like,
what are you doing?
And I have to put Koda's car seat down on the floor which was totally safe.
No cars around luckily and stuff like that.
And I said, can you come around and pick him up because I can't move.
And then Lucy slowly got me to sit down in the passenger seat of the car which I could
barely do because I could hardly get down into the car.
Then I just sat there for like five minutes.
I couldn't speak.
Like the pain took my breath away and every time I tried to say a word nothing would come
out.
Like it's a bit better now.
I can't actually speak but I was like, I couldn't breathe and I couldn't speak.
It was weird.
It was really weird.
I was kind of thinking to myself, how long is this going to go on for?
And I posted about this yesterday on my Instagram and a load of you sent me advice, sent me
things to do, sent me ideas, sent me some of your own experiences with back pain and
back issues.
And yeah, it's just been one of those things that has set me back a couple of days basically.
I've been taking, ow, oh this is painful.
I've been taking these which actually have been doing the trick with the pain.
Obviously I have to say responsibility, always read the small print and thing which I'm doing
and I'm taking the recommended dose.
They do help.
But yeah, that is what is going on at the moment with me.
But a huge thank you to all of you who commented, sent me DMs, sent me messages, sent me ideas
to go and see a chiropractor, to get my spine aligned, to just get it checked with a doctor,
different painkillers to try, et cetera, et cetera.
Funnily enough, I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon that I need to try and get
to.
I think Lucy's going to have to drive me because I can't drive at the moment.
The worst thing is I can't pick Koda up.
I can't hold Koda at the moment which is killing me.
It's been like two days and I haven't held him which really sucks.
But as I always try and do with issues, I try and look at the positives and some strange
thing happens when things like this happen.
It happened to me in the first lockdown as well.
I actually feel less stress and any anxiety that I do have sometimes, don't talk about
it much, but lowers and pretty much on that first day I had the pain and all I could do
was lie in bed, my anxiety and stress pretty much went away which I think is some kind
of thing around the fact that I can't do what I usually do or want to do.
It's just taken away.
It's not an option to do my usual day.
That somehow removed stress.
I guess day to day, I want to do so much and get so much done and be so productive and
I put that pressure on myself that there's always a slight level of stress and anxiety
around getting things done and am I doing enough and beating myself up when I'm not
doing enough.
But if that choice is just taken away and all I have to do is try and recover, it removes
some of that.
Strangely, I actually felt in my mind really good over the last two days and I'm trying
to look at the positives of it and just going back to basics.
Like in the lockdown when we were all stuck indoors and at home, all we could do was be
grateful for our health and never take your health for granted.
You realize you have a little bit of back pain and you can't move, you can't get out
of bed, you just realize how much health is so integral to our lives and what we do day
to day.
But yeah, I also then remembered a vlog back in lockdown in Manila when, and this was two
years ago, the last time I did something this bad, which was my neck.
And there was a vlog, kind of the reason I wanted to vlog today to like compare them,
but there was a vlog where I did something to my neck and I could not move.
I'll insert some clips now.
He hasn't just woken up.
He's been here for quite a few hours.
Yes, I'm fine.
I have woken up with the stiffest...
Oh my God.
Neck.
So yeah, two years on.
And I mean, if I'd vlogged yesterday, I would have literally been in bed.
I stayed in bed all day.
This is day three.
I stayed in bed all day on the first day.
Second day, I was a little bit up and about.
And then today I'm a little bit up and about a little bit more.
So like it's getting better.
It's improving.
And I haven't yet a chiropractor.
If it's still bad in like four or five days, then I will.
But I'm hoping it will just ease off and go away on its own.
I think I sprained something or pulled something.
It's just really, really sharp pains when I twist and do certain movements.
And tense muscles and stuff.
Even just the muscles, you don't even know you're tensing just when you're standing up.
So it's like a constant thing.
But anyway, this vlog is not me moaning about pain at all.
It's more me saying thank you for the amazing community that we have here
and over on Instagram who came to my aid really.
So I appreciate that a lot.
And a huge thanks to Lucy who's been taking all of the CODA duties on herself.
And she even made me breakfast, lunch and dinner on that first day
where I couldn't get out of bed.
So yeah, huge thank you to Lucy.
Super mum.
And it's hard.
Doing everything we need to do with CODA on your own is very, very difficult.
And it's a lot of work.
So I truly appreciate that.
But I think it's time.
For some reason, it's snowing.
Let's get on with the rest of the day.
I don't think we're going to be doing too much today.
So if you like laid-back vlogs, you are in the right place.
I think we should go and make some breakfast.
So just going to make a really simple breakfast I've been enjoying lately,
which is basically my own version of muesli.
I was buying supermarket muesli and I tried three or four out and I didn't like them.
I've recently discovered I'm lactose intolerant, which is lovely.
And also gluten intolerant.
Or I'm not quite sure.
I think a bit of both, basically.
I feel better when I don't eat those things.
So anyway, I found some gluten-free porridge oats, which I'll just add to a bowl.
And if you've never made your own muesli, try it out because it's way...
I mean, I don't know if this is like an official way to make it,
but to me it tastes good.
And it's way easier than I thought.
I then have this seed nut and sultana sprinkle.
I know, some good stuff in there.
Then I'm going to add some blueberries.
Whoa, that's a little bit too many.
And then I'm going to chop up a couple of strawberries.
Not too high on the fruit content for the sugar levels,
but so I'm just going to add like maybe two or three strawberries.
Yeah, it's fine.
Lucy's saying this is an unsatisfying way to chop strawberries,
but it's doing the job, you know.
Then I have oat milk with it.
Same oat milk that I have in my coffee.
And that...
Oh, sometimes I have a banana, but maybe not today.
Oh, I'll tell you what also I got, which I'm going to add a little bit to.
Is this from the same company that I get the oat milk from, Oatly.
Greek yogurt.
It's obviously dairy-free.
So I'm just going to add a little bit of that.
We are good to go with this delicious, pretty healthy breakfast.
Today's video is sponsored by Govee.
You guys know that we are huge fans of lighting.
Anything that can make something aesthetically pleasing with light is right up our street.
You may remember Govee sent us a TV backlight with the LED strip.
Really, really awesome.
We love using that every single day.
And now they've sent us another product called the Govee Glide Hexer.
Now we're going to unbox this, install it with you guys today,
do a bit of DIY, get creative.
So let's get inside the box and see what this is all about.
So the cool thing about this product is you can put these shapes
in whichever kind of design that you want.
You can use as many or as little as you want and create your own shape.
Lucy is the artistic one out for two of us.
So we're going to let her design the shape.
So we're thinking of having some pattern behind here
to make our coffee station look extra awesome.
So Lucy is currently designing.
What helps a lot is that this product comes with an installation video to help us out.
And also no drilling on the walls because it's all sticky backs, which is ideal.
It's really easy to install actually.
So the first one's on and you basically attach these linking cables
as instructed on the app, depending on your design.
You plug them into whichever number it says on the back using the spirit level
and this little tool here to make sure it's nice and in line.
So I think we're going to move now to a very satisfying time lapse
of us putting this together and then we'll show you the final result.
Okay, so now we are doing a calibration on the app.
It basically goes through each panel and you just check that each one is working
and installed correctly, which is brilliant.
Okay, here we are finished.
This looks awesome.
On the app, you can set different colours and brightnesses and things.
This is RGBIC, which means each panel can display six colours in one go,
whereas regular RGB can only be one.
You can also use voice control with this.
If you're interested, there is a link in the description.
Go and check it out.
It could look cool above a sofa, above a monitor in a gaming setup,
above a TV, that kind of thing.
And another huge thanks to Gobe for letting us try this out and sponsoring today's vlog.
Okay, since I can't really move around too much
and go out and film a vlog or go out and do something productive,
Lucy and I have both been sat here for the last 20 minutes making reels,
which we're enjoying.
So if you...
Wait, where's my reel gone?
It's gone.
Are you joking?
I think I just deleted two of my reels.
No, you're just starting to go, let's refresh it.
I'm just about to do a vlog clip talking about my reels.
I deleted two drafts.
Why did you delete them?
They were drafts.
Are you sure?
Why did you delete them?
Go into your feed.
No, it's there.
It's there, but it's not showing up on my reels.
Refresh your feed.
Okay, I don't know why it's gone.
Refresh your feed.
Look.
No, no, your feed, not your reels.
Refresh that.
That's there.
George, refresh that.
Okay, what, refresh that?
Oh.
Why did you delete them?
I can repost them though.
Why would you delete a draft?
Why can't you just leave them?
Okay, so I deleted two drafts.
Okay, that's so annoying.
Okay, anyway, I was about to show you this reel that I just spent 20 minutes making,
which I now deleted.
You can't because it's a copyright anyway.
Okay, I'm going to repost them because I have them saved, right?
Did you make, no, probably not.
Did you make two?
That's a disaster.
I deleted the one from you the other day.
Why?
The Mother's Day one?
Yeah, I didn't mean to though.
But why would you delete anything?
I can't understand it.
Okay, a few minutes later and I can't get them back.
I accidentally deleted two of my best reels.
So annoying.
Oh well, bigger problems.
But never mind, I've re-uploaded one of them.
This is the little one I made today.
I'll show you here.
But do follow us on Instagram because we post loads at the moment.
We're enjoying creating stuff on Instagram.
Oh, do you reckon?
Okay, I can't actually...
Okay, I can't actually play that because we'll get copyright claim on YouTube.
But do go follow our Instagrams and you can see it there.
Speaking of health and everything in this vlog,
just been taking my daily supplements and vitamin.
This is my current lineup.
Omega-3, multivitamin.
These are little capsules for focus and energy.
And these are CBD gummies, which taste really good.
They're lime flavoured.
And honestly, the amount of people who recommended CBD oil for my back.
So many of you recommended.
I haven't got any or haven't ordered any yet.
But have you?
Oh, Lucy has some.
Oh my, is that it right there?
CBD oil.
There you go.
This isn't an ad or anything,
but I do have to say that these were sent to us by a company
we worked on Instagram with called Greenbox.
And they send like supplement boxes and things.
But yeah, we go in and out of taking supplements.
I think when we're in the gym, we're a little bit more...
I nearly fell over.
Conscious of it.
I'm barely staying on my feet with this back thing.
And I think it's because Lucy mopped the floor as well.
A little bit slippery.
I think when we're in the gym and when I'm on like the protein shakes and stuff,
that's when I'm thinking about vitamins and supplements and health.
But you should be thinking about it the whole time, really.
I wonder when I'll go to the gym again.
Okay, just finished up at the doctor's.
I made an appointment for my moles to be checked.
Now, this is turning into a very health topic based vlog.
It's actually because of you guys.
I've seen a lot of comments.
Obviously, I put my face on the internet regularly
and a lot of you guys notice
and I get comments and messages about my moles a lot.
Some people saying like,
please George, go and get these checked.
Some people said they've noticed them get bigger in vlogs and things.
So I thought, yeah, you're right, you're totally right.
We really should be looking after ourselves.
A message to everyone, if you think something's off or not right,
not that I do with my moles.
In my opinion, they're all fine and normal and they haven't changed.
But if you have a feeling that something's off, just go to the doctor.
I know a lot of people have health anxiety
and fears around actually booking doctor's appointments and stuff.
But if you can get over it, please try to
because it's so important to just get checked.
Because just come up the appointment and I now have peace of mind
because she looked over my whole body
and said every single mole looks normal and totally fine.
And it's just genetic that I have a lot of moles.
And she said as long as they're not changing,
keep an eye, always keep an eye on them, feel free to come back whenever.
But you have nothing to worry about.
She actually said two or three times that I've got really, really good skin.
So keep doing what I'm doing.
She said, do you go in the sun much?
I said, not really much anymore.
I said years ago, yeah, I like to try and get a tan and stuff.
But even since living in the Philippines,
we started to actually to avoid the sun because we know the dangers.
That's all good.
I'm going to grab a cup of coffee now because I'm near Blend
and then we'll go back and see Lucy and Koda.
But that does feel good.
You might have thought the doctor's appointment was about my back
because, by the way, I drove.
I'm feeling a lot better this afternoon, a lot more mobile.
Like I feel safe enough to drive now.
I can look over my shoulders
and do everything that I would normally be able to do whilst driving.
I think the painkillers help a lot later on.
And first thing tomorrow morning, I may be a little bit stiff again.
But yeah, things are looking on the mend.
And look, check this out.
It's a beautiful sunny day now.
I mean, look at that.
The snow.
You would not think it snowed earlier.
Nice one.
Thank you, mate.
Cheers.
Finished.
Georgie's just got back from the doctor's and I'm just cooking up some lunch.
We're, this week, trying out for the first time HelloFresh.
Not sponsored.
We paid for ourselves.
But we've got today cheddar cheeseburger with wedges and slaw, which look delicious.
I've done most of the prep already.
I just need to toast up.
It says to put the buns in the oven to warm.
But I like to toast them in a pan to get them a little bit crispy on one side.
You had a bun in the oven for nine months.
Don't need any more.
The bun's out the oven now, isn't he?
And then I'm going to put it up and I'll show you guys.
But very excited.
The weather's now lovely.
Is it warm outside?
Yeah, well, it's a bit cold in the wind.
But I don't get it.
It's now bright, sunny, blue skies and a minute ago it was snowing.
In the car, it was snowing and now it's sunny.
Thrilling.
I'm very excited for these burgers.
Just what I need.
Just what the doctor ordered.
The doctor said to me, if you've got a bad back, just have a burger.
See how you feel.
Koda's just been doing some great tummy time on his play mat.
And now he's, I swear he's talking.
I know he's obviously not, he's two months old.
But he literally said hello yesterday.
I swear.
Yeah, he went like this.
He was like, hello.
He's like, hello.
Because that's probably the main word we say to him.
We go, hello, hello, hi.
Hello, Koda.
Hi, darling.
Like, hello is probably the number one word, would you say.
Sort of accidentally.
It's not what I expected to always be saying to him.
Constantly saying hello.
But he always goes like, agoo.
And then yesterday I was like, hello, hello.
And we both looked at each other like, okay.
You can speak.
So proud.
And he was like nearly rolling over on the mat a minute ago.
And trying to like, he didn't crawl, obviously.
But he started off in one position.
And using his like arms and legs, he like shuffled himself further along.
So that doesn't obviously count as crawling.
But he's on his way.
So he's doing very well, bless him.
I don't know what's normal for now and what's not.
But I guess every baby's different.
And I'm just very proud of everything he does.
Because it's crazy, like he does the smallest thing.
And we're like, he's amazing.
He did it.
Yeah, so now I'm going to plate up.
We've got some wedges to go with it as well.
All right, the burgers are ready.
They look pretty good.
So the HelloFresh, everything comes basically, doesn't it?
And you have to put it together.
All the ingredients come for the exact meal.
I think I've done a bit more than put it together.
All right, sorry.
I've cooked it, dear.
Doing you a disjustice there.
Um, isn't it an injustice?
Nice.
Oh yeah, injustice, my bad.
That looks good.
Sorry, I'm like, I'm so hungry.
But you miss out on part of the meal to do that.
I do, I should weigh.
This guy's getting jealous of our burgers.
He's quite happy now, aren't you, mister?
We started calling him mister.
And then we shortened it to mist.
So like, Coda's nickname at the moment is mist.
Isn't it mist?
Hello, mist.
That's hilarious.
OK, going to end this video off here now.
And hopefully George is back.
He'll be better in a few days.
OK, we're flashing red on battery.
I'll be very quick.
We're going to end this video off here now.
And hopefully George is back, gets better soon.
Because I'm having to do everything on my own.
But it's all good.
It's fine.
And I'm sure George will make it up to me when he can.
Yep.
I look forward to that.
No, it's all good.
It sucks for you and it's rubbish.
But what are you going to do?
You're nearly 30.
So you better get used to things like this now, I guess.
Thank you so much for watching today's video.
If you enjoyed it, please smash the thumbs up button.
Subscribe if you're new.
And we'll see you very soon in another video.
Goodbye.
