Hello. Today we're talking about people who investigate the past. They're called archaeologists and they do a very important job. Let's find out about them. Everyone enjoys visiting old places like the pyramids in Egypt, the Colosseum in Rome, Stonehenge in England and the Parthenon in Athens. But how do we find out about how people lived and what people did in these places and even older places like Machu Picchu in Peru? Archaeologists help us. Archaeology is the study of objects from the past. Archaeologists look for objects in the ground. They use different tools to do this. They have to be very careful. When archaeologists find something interesting, they study it. By studying the things they find, such as paintings in caves, archaeologists learn about how people lived in the past. Objects from the past tell us the materials that people used. These arrowheads, for example, are made of stone. They are thousands of years old. Archaeologists put the things that they find in museums, where millions of visitors go each year to find out about the people of the past. What a great job! I'd like to be an archaeologist. I've got the right hat. Right, I've got a question for you now. What do archaeologists do? That's right, they look for objects in the ground. Where do archaeologists put the things that they find? That's right, they put them in museums. Right, I've got a job interview now. Oh, didn't I tell you? It's to be a junior archaeologist. Wish me luck! Bye!
