24 Hours Staycation in London at 36 Weeks Pregnant!

Hold up, I am on my way. I'm in motion. Let's go to the ocean. Yeah, let's go outside. We can hang out on the beach without freezing. Yeah, isn't that amazing? In Christmas times. We are leaving. So as you guys know, we've had a lot going on recently with the flat, the apartment, whatever you want to call it. It's been hectic. It's been very stressful the last, honestly, the last six months really hasn't it? It's been hectic and we have struggled a little bit, not going to lie. It has been a quite stressful few months, hasn't it? All good. We are fine. And it's all been for good reason. And there's now only like a few weeks until baby boy's arrival potentially, which is kind of crazy. But we just felt like we'd been so used to being and spending loads of time in a big city that's full of skyscrapers, full of like hustle and bustle, loads going on. We just felt like we needed to get out, didn't we? We were just like grew up in our hometown. We love it. Our family and friends are there like there are quirks about it that we love, but it is so small. And there's that sort of like small town feeling you get when you're there for too long. Maybe, maybe it's just us. Maybe it's because we're so used to moving around so quickly, but we just wanted to get out. So that's basically what we're doing. And it's been super last minute. So we have left Worthing. We have left for a little bit and we're going to be spending some time up in London. And George is very excited. I'm very excited. And we even just like looking around now, we've been like stimulated by like things we haven't seen before. And we're very excited. So if anyone agrees with us in the comments, let us know. Like, do you feel like if you spend too much time in one place, do you get a bit itchy? Do you kind of want to move on? Or are you quite sort of like a homebody? You're happy to stay in your hometown. Like I know so many people that would disagree with what we're doing and they'd think it's all right. We're fine where we are. But for us, we're like, okay, let's just get out somewhere for a few days. And when I say it's last minute and like it was a sudden, like it was a total change of plan. We packed this morning. It was literally yesterday. We got an email saying that the trip's good to go. So it's very last minute. We're going to check into our hotel soon. And we've got some nice plans while we're here. It's nearly Christmas. So London is looking Christmassy with all the lights up. Is that it? You're not going to get through there. You've got a parking space. That is so tight. You might have to count it. Wait, is there another entrance? Do you want to ask this person? You're not getting in there. They did say it's narrow. This is stupidly narrow. So we are in London. We're in Shoreditch. Very loud Shoreditch. A place, an area of London that we never really come to. But it's cool to be discovering somewhere new for us over the next few days. We've kindly been actually invited up by a hotel. So big thanks to the Hart Hotel in Shoreditch. Which is actually a Hilton hotel. So hopefully it's really, really nice. They are letting us stay for a couple of days. So thank you. We are walking to the hotel right now. Not too far from where we parked. So we will see you when we get to our room. OK, so we've just arrived in the lobby area. And it's so nice here. We've just used the toilet downstairs. Beautiful toilets, I must say. I didn't vlog in them. I didn't think that was appropriate. Maybe tomorrow. We've even got some little Christmas tree decorations up. And then there's a little bar here, which I think we're having a drink in later. Called Talver. Which is so nice. I love the decor. I love how it all looks. It's kind of... I don't even know what style this is. It's like nice trees. And it's almost a bit Great Gatsby kind of look. Boyd is waiting now. And then we can go up to our room and check it out. It's been a while since we've had a hotel stay. We've been in Airbnbs for ages. This is the first hotel for a long time, actually. Yeah. We've been getting Airbnbs for so long. It's really nice. Yeah, it's beautiful. Have you liked the film? Yeah, I've had a little film. We'll show you the room in a second. OK, we've got our key card. We're in the lift. 411. This is exciting. It's like a mini vacation. Ready? Yes. Ooh, come here quickly. We have a view on this floor. Isn't that nice? I love the decor in here. It's so cool. Oh wow, that's such a nice view. You can see into some people's apartments there. That's so cool. Without being nosy. Look how fancy they are in here. I know. Wow. So nice. OK, so which way are we? We are maybe down here? Here we are. 411. Ooh, that's cool. It's all through the door. I love that. There's a sanitised lip thingy here. So we break the seal, which is good. Nice. OK, let's quickly show you around this hotel room, because it's very, very nice. It's pretty grand, actually, I would say. OK, that's just a mirror. I thought it could be a wardrobe. You come in. These are wardrobes, I believe. So we have some... Ah, OK. So we actually have an ironing board, an iron. I will not be using that. No, not while we're here. We have some slippers. Nice. OK, big wardrobe space. Fine. And then behind Lucy here... There's a little coffee-making area. Yeah, we have some coffee facilities here. Oh yeah, they're quite cool, actually. I meant the ones at the back, not the actual mugs. These? I like these little things. I could have a double espresso in there. Yeah, maybe a single. And there's a little sofa area here, and a TV. So we could chill tonight here, maybe, and watch a movie. Is it comfortable? Although, if you come round the corner, Nice big lamp and everything. Tall curtains. Very, very, very tall ceilings here. If you come round here, this goes into our bedroom, which is really nice. I love the details on the wall and the decoration. And we don't actually have much of a view. I mean, we do, kind of, but there's a wall here. So if I lift the camera up high, you can see a little bit of London, but it's a little bit too high to see. I'm sure the rooms on the higher floors would have an insane view. We do also have TV behind us here for the bedroom. And let me show you the bathroom. I think the bathroom could be the standout for me, because it is so luxurious. I mean, like, look at this. The lighting, the mirror, but wait till you see the shower. I'm going to spend most of my time in there, I think. Look how lovely this is. Full marble and gold shower. That is super nice. So I think our plan, there's a bit of echo in there, hang on. I think our plan this evening is to go for a welcome drink. They've offered us a welcome drink in their bar downstairs. And I want to go to the gym, because they have a hotel gym here. So maybe I'll take the camera and we'll check out the gym together. I do need to get a workout in. I'm back in the gym regularly. And then I think we'll watch a movie this evening or something and relax. Or we are having dinner. Dinner's going to be a big feature of this vlog, because we're getting a little bit hungry. And they've offered us a three-course dinner in their restaurant downstairs this evening. So very excited for that. We'll show you guys all the food. And a big thanks to the hotel for having us. I think a little trip to London was exactly what we needed. As Lucy said earlier, we were getting, I don't know, we were getting, because the apartment is so nearly done and the baby stuff is coming together, we were kind of feeling like, oh, we want to go and do something. We haven't been able to for the last few weeks because we've been so, so busy. But we thought that this would be a good opportunity this weekend to come away, do something different, see a new place, get all that stimulus in that we love about travelling, new people that you meet, new food, just the vibe and the atmosphere and the energy of a new place. I think it's so good for you to take all that in. And I have to say, this is comfy, guys. This is so soft. And it's a huge bed. And we can watch some Netflix later on tonight. Very happy to be here. We'll check back in with you very soon. Okay, I am changed into gym gear. And we're going to check out this hotel gym. Wow, so this is a really nice gym. And there's no one in here, so I can freely vlog. This is so nice, super modern in here. They've got like proper machines, treadmills, nice free weights area and a machine here. So I want to make sure I've got a good appetite for dinner. So we're going to get a pre-dinner workout. Let's go. And just like that, we are back from the gym. I'm showered up. Got my evening outfit on. Still kept it pretty casual, because even the hotel staff here, they said none of our staff kind of wear suits and ties. We like a more of a laid back thing here in Shoreditch. We like for you to feel comfortable, for there to be like a nice atmosphere and stuff like that. Actually, our colours match, Luz, tonight. Lucy has a stunning dress on. Thanks. Is that a maternity dress? Has to be, surely, at this point. Definitely. Look at that. And I've just gone for like pretty casual, denim jacket and this like waffle-y material, sweater thing, quite thin. So we are heading to the restaurant now. Let's go. I'm so excited for this. Need some food. Thank you. So give you guys a quick look at the menu. The camera's being a bit flickery. I think I'm going to have to go for the fillet steak. Before we came down for dinner, I was really, really hoping that there would be steak on the menu, and there is. Our really, really fanciest steak. It's a really nice restaurant here. We're sat right by the window, so we can see people walking past. And it feels quite fancy, but kind of cozy at the same time. Isn't it? The decor's really nice. I like the chairs. They're like this little pattern. What's that called? Isn't that like a Philippines thing? It's not. No, it's like in the Philippines, there's a type of weaving wood. Yeah, true. I can't think of the name off the top of my head. We can watch the world go by outside. We're sat on a little square table. It's nice to be sat next to each other. Super nice. So I think we've both decided on our starters, but I'm still undecided on my main course. It's a really nice menu. It's one of their menus where it all sounds quite fancy, but I think it's going to be really delicious. So they've given us a still water, a sparkling water. I've been on sparkling. Have you? Sparkling was my jam before, but now I'm all up still. Yeah, I love sparkling water. I also have another slightly sparkling drink. A pale ale. Because why not? Cheers. Oh, wait, wait. I was not filming. Really? Cheers. The starters have arrived. They look so nice. This is quite fancy food. It's really unusual food. I think it's a museum of Middle Eastern recipes. Oh, is it? Okay, maybe. It looks delicious. Oh, some fresh bread with that as well. Okay, we've both tried our starters. It's so good. Mine is basically like a huge piece of halloumi cheese with some kind of chili jam on it. But it's huge, it's cheesy, it's delicious. And I've got like a cheese fondue with some truffles and some mushrooms. Amazing bread. But the actual cheese is so salty. It tastes unbelievable. You would love this as well. We'll have to try a bit of each other's. Okay, mains have arrived. Mine's obviously well done. George's is medium, which is my preferred way. But hopefully in a couple of months I'll be able to enjoy this again. We've got a little beef jus. Some broccoli here with some aglio e olio inside it, I think. We've got some potatoes, some lentils. An amazing looking Greek salad with loads of different types of tomato and some fries as well. I'm so excited for this. Neither of us could resist the fillet steak on the menu. It's known to be like the best cut of steak. It looks so good. So tender, so juicy. Really good. Wow. Incredible flavour. That filled us up so good. That meal was... We skipped dessert for the first time ever. Yeah, for the first time ever. We always have dessert, especially when we're in a hotel and they're giving us dinner. We skipped dessert. That says a lot. How good the mains are. It was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. No, he wouldn't miss this.
