SURPRISE CONTRACTOR TO FINISH OUR BATHROOM REMODEL! - NEW HOME ADVENTURES

Okay, you guys, the moment you have been waiting for, the final bathroom reveal. You guys, the biggest surprise ever came to our door today. It's my dad. He tried to tell me how to fix it and then decided that I wasn't capable of that. So he came down, he drove, was it six hours? Six hours. Six hours for one night just to come fix. He's already done patched the drywall here. He moved the lights up. Now we've measured everything out for the mirrors. Really smart. So everything is getting ready. We're getting ready to put the mirrors up. Well, I guess we got paint. Paint, install the lights, then the mirrors. He's been working hard in here. Were you surprised? Uh-huh. How does that make you feel? Incapable. To be fair, my dad owns a drywall business and he has for, he's got years of experience. A long time, a couple years. Under his belt. Literally, he's had that belt for 15 years. That's not even that long. He's been doing that since I was like. He's been doing it for longer than that, but that belt alone. Anyway, so for him, he was like, I could do this with my eyes closed. So he came down to do it, which is amazing. We were all so surprised. The girls were super happy to see him too. All right, we've got it painted. Everything is moved up, patched over. We got mud on. All of the screw holes are in place for the mirrors. So once it dries, we just get to come in, put the lights on, put the mirrors up, and it'll be done. And then I still need the hardware on the cabinets, but this is enough for one day. I'm so thankful for my dad. He just, he said he wanted to come down, but he was thinking it might be September before he could. And then he just showed up. Wasn't it surprising? Was it exciting? Yeah. Whoa, lady girl. Anyway, so this has been like, just the sweetest surprise. Even just, I don't know, I don't get to see my dad as often. He doesn't come down as much as my mom. So any little bit of time we get to spend with him is just super special. All right, I'm gonna go sit down for a minute, wash the paint off my fingers. Yay. ♪ It's not a big deal, not a big deal, not a big deal ♪ All right, we're back at it this morning. We gotta hang up the lights now and the mirrors. ♪ We will always, we always, we always be ♪ We should have brought more light bulbs while we were waiting. I know, while we were waiting. I thought it'd be like a month before we got this fixed. We gotta see how it balances out. That way we can at least, yeah. Have one night. Make sure that one works. Oh yeah, there you go. Whoa, Luke! Okay you guys, the bathroom is mostly done. We still need the cabinet hardware and I still need to like clean up a little bit. John is outside helping my dad load up a piece of furniture that needs to go back to Pennsylvania and I am about to make some waffles. I'm using our favorite organic protein pancake and waffle mix. It is certified gluten-free, organic, non-GMO. All the things. Anyway, I've got some eggs already made. I am gonna get these waffles going. That way we can feed my dad before he heads home around lunchtime. I can't believe still that he showed up on our doorstep, literally drove six hours just to come help us and can only stay the one day. So I wanna make sure he gets something good to eat before he's gotta head out and then I'll show you guys the bathroom. You excited? Look, okay. Here is the waffle, one quarter of it. I'm gonna throw some more and these kids eat them faster than I can make them. This is what the mix looks like once it's all mixed up. You just add a couple of things. The ingredients are on the back. You add a couple of things to it and you get this and then you put it in this like magic. I thought they might be hiding in here. We can't get out. It's our only hand thing, not Jenny and of course Poppy because whenever he wakes up and if we wake up at the right time because he doesn't come down here. That's true. Well, maybe we'll mess up more things and get him down here more often. I love you, sweetheart. See, I thought we had screwed up the bathroom. Tricked ya. We actually had a plan to get Poppy down here and it worked. Tyler is the dramatic one. Tyler. I can't do it. Okay, you guys, the moment you have been waiting for the final bathroom reveal, okay, it's not final because we still need cabinet hardware. We have it. I just have to install it but that's gonna come later because I have a lot of work to catch up on. But are you ready? I'm so excited. Here we go. You guys, I am absolutely obsessed with it. It's so awesome to see everything finally coming together. Once we get the cabinet hardware on, it's gonna be a dream. I don't even like hate the look of it without but it's just a pain opening the drawers. Otherwise, I would totally leave it just like that but so happy to be that much closer to being done with one more room in our house. We still have a lot more decorating, a lot more settling in and making this place a home to do but this is definitely a dream come true. We will see you guys later.
