We Didn't Know QUEZON MEMORIAL CIRCLE Was Like THIS! (Not What We Expected)

[Music] we've actually gained a fair bit of height now and we can look over we've come to a bit of a viewpoint there's a cafe here you can park reminds me of when we go up into the hills in cebu yeah imagine having a nice like drink or coffee yeah wow see we wouldn't have found this place thank you that's why we need you guys yes can you tour us every day this is great yeah there used to be it's nice the bar upstairs is like right there okay it closed down though right okay yeah that i bet there's a nice view from there yeah you could couldn't you could have a big barbecue here saturday markets before really parties kid children's parties they'll have that it's a fancy castle so nice quite peaceful up here actually wow everywhere we go at the moment it's so green yeah trees and plants look down there that looks like just like a luxury resort or something this looks like somewhere we went in bicol i can't think of the name it's just so luscious here and green everywhere some people get getting the instagrams over there this seems to be the photo spot so we're gonna go check out what everyone's taking pictures of it's a nice view but it's a little bit misty wow cool [Music] but it's not who you might think it is [Music] we have just arrived in circle memorial which we've heard about this place we've seen some images and stuff but first impressions pretty amazing it's like almost feels like a market that we're driving through and we're i didn't realize you could drive through it and you can drive right up to the actual memorial there's people here selling plants plants and more plants by the looks of it wow look at this put the camera forward that's really cool wow okay we're gonna so big i had no idea you could just drive right up to here and park we're gonna pull up we're gonna hop out we're gonna have a little bit more of a look at this place but welcome to the video thanks for clicking on the video today part of our little uh qc tour i had no idea you could just drive straight to it pretty handy well they're supposed to be parking over there but they closed it oh really okay i think this is where everybody's parking yeah okay so what's the what's the story behind the memorial well um the second official philippine president is manuel alcazar and he's buried here with his wife i see a museum there super nice but i think it's closed right now right sure but when they do reopen it yeah it's worth visiting yeah cool restaurants here really if they're open now but yeah and like i said before quezon city used to be the capital yes of course right so this is yeah that makes sense wow that's pretty impressive it's huge so this is our first time visiting here we've actually wanted to come for a while at least haven't we yeah it's been on the list for a long time so it's good to be here today so impressive it's so big it looks bigger in person than in pictures i [Music] agree it's incredibly peaceful here even though there's a lot of people in a lot of cars i feel like i want to be talking a little bit quietly because it's quite peaceful apparently there are a lot of events here and restaurants street parties fireworks i just copy what they're saying yeah it's perfect quite lucky with the weather it did start raining earlier but we're quite lucky now the sun's actually coming through the top of the memorial which is quite cool there's nice gardens here wow yeah they're selling so many plants it is one of the most popular like plant shopping here really is it expensive or good prices lucy's getting ideas now it used to be really good and you know um it's so popular yeah people up the prices yeah yeah but it really used to be one of the hubs for plants you haven't way before even like during the evening really wow my parents used to buy yeah so how long has this been here yeah we'll google it 1930s wow okay you're quicker than me it's a gigantic project that they're doing i'm the one that's going up the home country yeah wow and it's um going to connect to the northern part of quezon city which is fairview yeah where uh the second ikea will be oh it's there okay yeah we're just saying that people come here to exercise as well you actually run around here how many how many laps do you do well i do a couple here and then i kind of go into the neighborhood side nice it really depends sometimes there's a lot of people and kind of makes me nervous yeah yeah kind of veer off into them [Music] we're on a sunday guys and it's nice to just come and walk around actually something pretty peaceful to come and do it kind of feels like you're in nature even though you're in a city because of how green they've made it oh and there's even cats where isn't there cats oh yeah is this a rubber plant wow natural rubber plant here that's one of the ones i know look at this there's like a park area we can just walk around and stroll on a sunday afternoon [Music] are you perfect a picture of me while i'm taking a video of you yes we could get out of town see the beautiful world of right now we have some eggplant emojis growing see some evidence of where the typhoon would have come through here not a lot of these snapped a lot of the branches but they've obviously cleared the pathway to walk through oh yeah there's a lake over there this is awesome only just hear the sound of traffic you're almost out true true that's the one reminder that you're still in the city you can hear the main road just and they are of course preparing for christmas some lights in the trees by looks bit and then some stars along the path here and actually you can see some flooding still cars are going through some flooding from the typhoon well i guess it's from the typhoon on this road still [Music] that often that often in the mornings here it can be incredibly busy but if the sun comes out people tend to hide away a little bit because it's very exposed very bright very hot it's actually a little bit cooler now which is nice so there's not many people here we can wander around to ourselves it's very quiet even though it's near the main road and there's some people over here practicing some stunt fighting which is pretty cool i've never seen in real life i had no idea how big this place was we drove and we saw the plants and we saw the main memorial and then everywhere around the edge there's like a park here there's another area here with some play areas there's another area here like it's just you think it's like this but it's like a big circle it's not just a little circle in the middle it's like a circle within a circle within a circle huge area yeah yeah obviously training maybe for a movie or something or just in general i don't know it's just in general i don't think you train for stunts in general do you some people might thank you to everyone who has recommended that we come here pretty amazing just to stroll around a place that firstly has meaning with the memorial but also somewhere where friends family people can come and stroll around on a weekend they were saying that there's usually restaurants and cafes open here and coffee but a few things are closed because of covered at the moment but definitely worth seeing very very impressive the actual memorial itself the actual architecture of it is like three pillars very impressive piece of design it's been since the 1930s we discovered so thank you if you recommended this one we have been wanting to come here for a little while and check it out so we're very glad we did in the dry we did come if you saw the vlog the other day where we went to fitness army in qc we did try and come here but on the way back it was completely it was raining so so hard so you're like no we'll come back another day and we'll do it in the drive but it's way better to be here with friends and local people hi [Music] so these are obviously closed at the moment but there's a ton of different stalls here somewhere open a little restaurant some pan sit some sorry furry kind of stores little restaurant there cool it feels like hannah has everything it's there's way more going on here than i thought i really thought it was just i say just but just like the huge memorial i thought that was it and that's what you see photos of yeah exactly but there's so much more you could spend the whole day here but we are heading out now we are leaving the circle we have a dinner reservation at somewhere very cool this evening but you'll see that in another video we're actually filming a ton of vlogs today we were just gonna do the one but then we filmed so much that it feels like it's better to spread it out i don't know about you guys but i feel like one big video might be a bit too much and it'll be like 40 minutes long or something that's more like a film oh no that's quite a tree oh that's so sad damn that's really bad oh that's so awful so that is why we've kind of split the videos out a little bit more today
