4.45am and we're hopefully gonna catch the sunrise this morning and go for a nice
drive along some amazing roads. Thank you for clicking on the video today.
Let's go for a little early morning adventure.
But it is a bit rainy so it might not be all that adventurous.
Did you burn your tongue?
I haven't even got to the coffee yet but I think it's really hot.
Turns out 5am traffic in Manila, good.
Hardly any traffic.
We headed out of BGC, headed to Quezon City, past Eastwood City,
got from BGC to Eastwood City in 10 minutes,
which is crazy because the other day that took us about two hours.
Now we are actually heading onto a really nice road.
This is called the...
Let's put it on the screen now.
I don't want to say it wrong.
And this is quite funny how this morning has come about and how this vlog has come about
and how this day has come about.
Because I was reading comments on last night's vlog and someone said,
George you should totally go and drive your new car, Jose, on this road.
And we said no way, Jose.
You've been waiting for that one, haven't you?
So we read this comment at like 9pm last night.
Yeah.
And they were like go and drive on this road, you can drive there now.
Potholes.
A lot of potholes.
And we were like, all right, we'll do.
So we thought we'd get up at 5am and head on out for a little cruise.
It's a little bit rainy but, you know, it's fun, it's something to do.
And what is cool is that we're pretty much heading towards the Sierra Madre mountain range.
Yes.
Which is the mountains that we see from our apartment.
Yeah, we've seen these mountains every day for almost a year and a half now.
I mean, we haven't been in Manila every day.
We're in Manila, we literally see them every day.
If it's a clear day, they're like dark mountains and you can see them super clearly.
If it's a bit cloudy, they sometimes have sort of clouds rolling over them
and it's just been part of our view for so long.
So it's going to be really cool being in them.
And, I mean, it's very cloudy so maybe we won't actually be able to see our building.
But maybe we'll do this again one day when the weather's a bit better.
I feel like it's raining every day at the moment.
And I don't know why.
It's literally raining all day every day.
It's raining all night.
And yeah, I don't know why.
So hopefully maybe soon we'll come up here and we can catch sunrise.
But we just wanted to get up early anyway to beat the traffic
to get some fresh mountain air, hopefully.
It's only 25 degrees.
Is it?
It's quite cool, yeah.
But yeah, it's unfortunate that the rain's here because we do have the drone with us again.
We tried to fly the drone yesterday at Enchanted Kingdom, if you saw that vlog already.
We took the drone with us but it was raining all day then.
The rain doesn't really bother us.
It doesn't affect our plans too badly.
It just means that the vlogs might look a little bit different because, I mean,
obviously there's no drone shots or we have to film some bits on the GoPro
because we can't get the cameras all wet.
The rain doesn't affect us in a literal sense in that we can't go and do things
because we don't mind getting wet but it just sometimes changes how the vlog turns out.
But I mean, it might clear up.
It's quite in and out.
There were a few gaps in the clouds earlier as the sun was kind of rising as we were leaving BTC.
But now we've gone a bit further.
The weather's taken a turn for the worse and it's very rainy.
We would always rather show you guys the real life.
Yeah, exactly.
And, you know, not be put off by weather or rain.
If it rains then that's the real life in this day and that's the reality.
Rather than, I don't know, try and film some sunny shots for you another day
and not upload this video, I'd rather have a real kind of daily vlog thing.
Yeah, you can't change the weather so just don't let it affect you.
Everywhere you go you always bring the weather with you.
What's that song?
Everywhere you go you'll always take the weather.
It's like rain on your wedding day.
It's also like rain, rain, rain on your wedding day.
Any more rain songs?
Shelter from the Storm by Bob Dylan.
It's Raining Men.
Hallelujah.
It's Raining Men.
Comment below your favourite rain song.
Love a Rainy Night, that's a good one.
Okay, what else?
This is quite fun.
Rain, rain, go away, come again another day.
It's not really a song, is it?
That's more of a, that's it, that's the whole song.
Hard Rain's Gonna Fall.
Hard Rain's Night, that's Day's Night.
Okay, we've just stopped so we can go and use the toilet.
Stopped at a little gas station before heading over there.
Jose is doing well, guys.
Jose's the name of our car, by the way, if we didn't mention that already.
Even in the rain on these roads, in the wet, I have to say,
I don't know what tyres are, I have to check what tyres we have,
but I'm feeling really, really nice.
We've got a huge, let's turn the wipers off, a little bit less noisy.
We've got a huge beaker of coffee, of black coffee each this morning,
which we thought would be nice to have up in the hills.
It's so nice to be able to get out early.
We did struggle slightly because we've got that weighted blanket.
It does kind of make you want to stay in bed, but we're glad we got up.
It is now 6.33 and we're about to start what I think is a really, really nice drive.
It's the windy part.
Oh, Lucy's back.
Whoa, look at this.
Bit careful in the Philippines, you never know what you're going to come across.
A big tree in the middle of the road.
Nice.
I was just saying to Lucy,
this feels like it's like we're in a jungle all of a sudden,
especially with the rain or like a rainforest.
It's so green around here.
It's so, so nice.
This road in particular is quite a well-known road for enthusiasts,
so cyclists and the motorcycle community.
You get a lot of fun runs, they call it,
especially with the cars, supercar community as well.
A lot of people, I was reading and watching some videos online last night,
this is a very, very popular road for those types of people who like to...
Oh, a little bit bumpy.
Yes.
For those types of people who like coming out on a weekend or Sunday morning or something
and either going for a cycle
or going for a ride on their motorbike or in their car or whatever.
Yeah, we've got a ton more trees.
Wow, this is crazy.
Look at that.
Mountain in the background.
Just wait for this tricycle.
Yes.
Oh, there's fresh air though.
How nice.
So nice.
So yeah, as Lucy was saying, had a lot...
Oh, look at this corner.
Hang on, let me just enjoy this.
Not going too hard today because of the rain,
but 3 Series, insane handling.
Oh my God.
Wow.
Had a lot of rain and a lot of wind, so I'm guessing...
There was actually a typhoon, wasn't there?
I think there was one nearby.
Yeah.
I think it passed through a little bit.
I mean, look at this debris on the road.
Take it easy because there's a lot of stuff.
Yeah, there's a lot.
But this is where it gets really nice.
This is where it gets super nice for driving.
So green as well.
We haven't seen natural green.
Oh my God, this is crazy.
We are having to be really, really careful today.
Yeah, I wouldn't want to be on a motorbike today.
No.
But we're very, very happy in the car.
Very cozy.
This is awesome.
This is what I wanted.
This is kind of what I wanted to get to on this day.
And to be honest, leaving at 5am was the right decision
because it just meant we had no...
I mean, a tiny bit, but really no noticeable traffic.
And you can get to the start of this run pretty quickly
and then you can just enjoy.
I feel like I should get out and move it,
but I don't think I can move a tree.
It's still moving, it's still moving.
Yeah, it's crazy.
Imagine if it was a huge car.
That wouldn't have been good.
Oh my God, it's a waterfall.
I haven't seen a waterfall in forever.
That's insane.
Oh, wow.
That's so cool to see.
Wow.
Wow, wow, wow.
We're actually crossing over a big flood.
It's not that big, but a fair bit of water on the road as well.
Look at the mountains now.
This is great.
We haven't been on this road before, have we?
We've been on this road, but not this far in.
Right, okay.
But really everywhere we're looking, we're like, wow, wow, wow.
I think quarantine has done this to us.
It's made us appreciate the smaller things more.
And seeing a waterfall, it just made me so happy.
I don't know.
And even though it's raining, like I said, it doesn't matter.
It's still a fun adventure.
We're still out in the mountains that we see from our view in the morning.
It's like, it's not even 7am yet.
Look at the rain coming across.
Wow.
Do you know what?
What?
You might be saying this as George always being positive and optimistic about any situation.
Let me guess, you prefer that it's raining.
Yeah.
I don't know.
It's adding like some rainforest vibes.
It's cozy.
We're in the car.
It's a little bit more exciting.
No, I agree.
I agree.
It's not just like a sunny day and everyone's here.
It feels almost like we've got the place to ourselves.
We've driven past like two tricycles and that's it.
And if it was a sunny day, I know that this road would be very busy and probably more
dangerous really with other motorists and bikes and things.
So maybe it's even safer.
I know it's raining, so we're having to take it a bit easier.
But maybe it's even safer that we've just got it almost to ourselves this morning.
And also it's weird like coming out to do a drive because we're not getting out and
seeing anything.
It's not like we're driving to something.
To go and do something.
The drive is the day.
This is the thing.
The journey is the destination.
We've now transported to Bohol at the Chocolate Hills apparently.
That's so cool.
It's so nice, so lush.
Oh, I want to climb up it.
I want to climb up that.
Go on then, in the rain, I'll wait here.
I actually would, you know.
That is literally something that I'd love to do.
You know that, don't you?
Yeah.
This is my dream right here.
Driving these roads.
In our own car in the Philippines.
Yeah, this is insane.
Having gone from our apartment in the Philippines.
Drinking coffee, listening to music.
Thank you to everyone who watches these videos.
Yeah.
Okay, this is the worst part we've seen so far.
I'm getting soaked.
Careful.
It could be more varieties that are going to fall.
There could be weaker trees now.
So we're taking it easy.
