Large Family Laundry Routine! | MOM OF 6

I still remember who we are who we are as we steal into the sun can't believe the so far no matter where we are I still remember who we are who we are now these days have coming gone we G it everything we got no matter where we are I still remember you guys John and I had an amazing weekend uh getaway we are back to the Grind this week the girls were at school my friend Becca took Everly with her to the library this morning but I have a bit of an issue if you can see that we are way behind on the laundry so I thought I would take the opportunity to share with you guys how I do laundry I know that seems silly like people know how to do laundry right but I feel like everybody does it a little differently as far as like sorting your clothes just kind of a system um I grew up with my mom teaching us a sort white STS colors and actually my mom probably just did colors and whites if I remember correctly um but we do things a little bit differently and so I just thought I would share that especially since I have to go through all of this already so in our laundry room it looks like a bomb went off right now but I have this bin with three different sorters then there's another basket over there that basket's for John's clothes I just throw all of his stuff in there for the most part all of his things can be washed together so when it comes to these three baskets we have one for whites um and this is like white clothing stuff like that we do use flower sack towels mostly instead of paper towels so I do keep those separately but like white clothing goes in there the middle basket is for our girls dresses and tops most of these are nicer materials um they're kind of like not super delicate but more delicate I don't want to wash them in hot water I don't want to wash them on a like really vigorous cycle and usually we don't put those in the dryer we hang them up too dry so that one they don't drink two they last longer because we have six girls the longer that they can last so that we can pass them down the better um this other bin right here is for socks underwear they're leggings stuff like that my clothes get sorted mostly into the middle bin um of delic K things but I do put my pants and stuff in with Johns and then I also have these two bins right here um we use those so I will throw in like Marin's clothes little baby clothes that are kind of small delicate that I end up washing in our top washing machine uh just smaller loads I throw in my delicate things like my undergarments bras um the bottom one I would usually throw in the girls gymnastics uniforms when they get home from gymnastics if that top washer is full if it's not I throw them right in there wash them right away so Tyler's dress this is nice it's from The Gap it's a sweatery material I don't want to wash this in hot water I don't want to wash it with a bunch of jeans and heavier things um it's not too dirty we're going to throw it in the middle bin going to fill this up cuz it's empty I put vinegar my thieves household cleaner this is the same cleaner we use on our floors on our carpets on our counters toys I'm making a mess it is totally safe plant-based nothing harmful in it this is like my spot remover um sometimes I'll add in a little laundry detergent and shake it up but I'm going to save time right now so back to this white dress it has some purple on it I think those are from blackberries I'm just going to spray [Music] this really good soak it there's a couple of it's just a little dingy in general so I'll just spray a one more throw it in the whites spin so with our whites usually when I'm going through um I will wash it all on the whites or sanitize setting on our dryer um and then I will pick out pieces that don't get dried and hang them up so that dress for example I'm not going to put that in the dryer I will hang that up and I just kind of sort them once they're done washing as I'm putting them into the dryer okay this is a pajama dress um so I will turn it right ins side and toss it in to the same bin that holds leggings underwear socks we do pajamas that way here is a dress it's a nice lightweight material throw that in the middle bin sweater again it's just easier to turn them all the right way this is dress from the Gap it does have some sort of stain on it who knows with kids so I will spray that [Music] down and then toss it in the middle bin example leggings leggings and underwear bin this bad boy is a really nice sweater this is Judes so this is one that I will put in this basket I'm going to wash it in the top washing machine on a delicate cycle and then I lay it in our dryer has a top lay flat to dry part so I will lay it there to dry it so that it doesn't shrink or peel or get all worn out okay so this is one of my sweaters this is a nice sweater I'm going to set it aside and wash it with Jude's sweater and then I will lay it flat or hang it to [Music] dry so put these things back okay so everything is sorted John's clothes are all in that bin here's their gym stuff because I was using the baskets we've got towels and a blanket that need to be washed all in like a heavier setting a hidden pair of ones um some white stuff these are our tea towels and this is a bathroom mat from downstairs we have clay out back so it gets filthy and then we've got our three bins so that is when I will come over obviously pick a Lo where do I start I don't know um so I'm going to start with this bin um and I'll just pull it out bring it over dump it in the wash so the girls clothes their pants and underwear I wash in a normal setting um in cold water pretty much just the way it has [Music] it so we used thieves laundry detergent this is by Young Living and it is um just non-toxic again plant-based okay you only need a tiny little bit so about a quarter of this capful I like to go ahead and add some of my oils directly to the detergent just drop them in there and then typically I will have this filled with vinegar and thieves cleaner just like my spot remover pour it in the fabric softener section and we start it so I'm going to go ahead and throw my sweater Jude's sweater this dress Brown underwear there we go in to this top washing machine the detergent I add right in here I just need a tiny little bit like literally a quar size drop close her up wash it on normal in cold water and press start we're good to go so once those are done the sweater Jude sweater like I said I put in here I lay it flat to dry throw the rest of the stuff that gets dried in the dryer and and yeah just continue the process um we usually take this hanging rack into our bedroom and hang the clothes up that way because we can watch a show while we're doing it and kind of talk and hang out it's a little more comfortable than hanging them all up in the laundry room yeah that is our laundry process you guys it is it works for us usually it doesn't get this piled up I try to stay on top of it and do one to two loads of laundry um a day depending on what's needed it doesn't usually get this crazy but since we were gone things got a little behind um and normally I'll try to do like a load of laundry every single day that way we can keep up with it so then when I throw things in the dryer we use wool dryer balls instead of dryer sheets dryer sheets are one of the most toxic things you can have in your house um they're really horrible all those chemicals get on your clothes your clothes sit on your skin which is an organ and it absorbs all those chemicals all day long so we switch to dryer balls and essential oils we dro the oils right on the dryer balls set it to go and we are good so our clothes come out smelling amazing with no chemicals or nothing toxic and we can customize the
