Hi guys, welcome back to a new video.
You might be wondering what all this stuff is.
Let me explain.
So a few days ago, Lucy, her,
discovered that there was a drive-in cinema
happening in Manila,
and she booked us a couple of tickets for tonight.
Shouldn't have to leave the car,
but it is an extremely rainy day in Manila today,
so we have ourselves an umbrella,
and then we have the ultimate car cinema viewing
experience survival kit.
Got a blanket to make it cozy.
We've got pillows.
I have no idea what else she's put in here.
What else have you put in here?
Love these prizes.
Weather check today.
Rainy, cloudy, drizzly.
It's miserable out there.
We're gonna get in the car.
I wish I had one of those flippy-out keys,
so I would've gone perfectly on the beat
of whatever music we've got right now.
I would've gone,
so let's get in the car.
Flip, yeah, flip the key out.
We're gonna head on down, drive down.
It shouldn't take too long,
and we're gonna have a nice romantic cinema
movie date night.
Sound good?
Yeah.
That's the car key.
Oh, good, good.
Sorry, Bob.
It's been a while since I've had to get this thing out,
a rain jacket,
but it is incredibly rainy out there,
and I don't wanna get wet.
I don't think,
no, I'm wearing a hat.
That doesn't work.
But a little bit of rain won't stop us, guys.
Never does.
So we can keep dry.
No, it really doesn't work with a hat.
Yeah, it really doesn't.
Okay, so look.
Really does not work.
You look like a,
ah!
Wow!
Amazing.
You look like a fan.
Oh my God.
You guys will be pleased to know
that we are back on our routines.
We've both been running again the last couple of days.
Both been lifting weights.
Both been doing our ab workouts,
stuff like that.
We are,
we had a few days where we just didn't.
We were filming,
what felt like hundreds of videos up early.
You got something in your hair?
What is it?
It's a fluff.
Don't get rid of the fluff.
It's in the fluff.
We were up early,
out filming and editing a ton of videos,
so hope you guys have been enjoying the vlogs recently.
But are you ready for a nice, cozy evening?
I am.
In the car, watching a movie?
Yeah.
We'll share with you what movie we're going to see.
First time going to the cinema in a long time.
Very soon.
Even though it's not actually going to the cinema.
No, it's kind of not.
Watching a communal film in a long time.
This is also,
sorry to ruin that segue into the next clip.
Yeah, it's going to be quite smooth.
Usually when you say let's go,
something else happens.
But I just wanted to say,
this is the first time you and I have ever been
to a drive-in cinema ever.
Not just in the Philippines,
but we've never done one.
I don't know what to expect.
Well, you can expect to watch a film in your car
and drive into the film.
I don't know what else you can expect
from a drive-in cinema to be honest.
Let's go.
Okay, we've just pulled up
and we're currently navigating.
We're about five minutes away,
but we figure because it's a film, it's a movie,
we're probably not going to be able to film much at all
when we're actually there and once the film started.
So I just wanted to explain what's going on beforehand
so we don't get arrested for piracy,
which is always good.
So we're basically,
we're at HK Sunplaza.
I don't know what it is,
but it's we're taking like some back roads around to it.
I'm using Waze.
I've decided Waze is way better than Google Maps.
Would you agree?
Yes.
Way better.
And it's got us out of a lot of traffic jams recently.
Waze better, nice.
And the film we're seeing is called Unhinged
or is it Hinged?
Is it Hinged or is it Unhinged?
Unhinged.
It's the sequel to Hinged.
Is it?
No.
I was going to say,
because I haven't seen the first one.
I don't know what it's about,
but it was the only film available.
We didn't really choose to do this for the film.
No, exactly.
For the movie itself.
We chose to do this more for the experience
because it's like quite a unique thing for us anyway.
We've never done it before.
Exactly.
Today was the only day that tickets were available.
So we grabbed the two tickets.
It cost 800 pesos for an MPV with two people.
Yes.
So it's quite expensive.
And we thought as we have,
we still have the Maxis,
the big bus.
We've got eight seats here.
We could have bought like eight different friends
to watch the movie, but.
We'd have to pay more
because we've only got two people.
Oh, true that.
True that.
So yeah, we're in the big Maxis.
This is the G50.
Review video coming on more, George,
very, very soon.
You can see more of this car.
But look how much space we've got up front.
It's amazing.
I love this whole screen as well.
We'll show you more soon.
We've got a film on there.
Yeah.
But a nice comfortable vehicle for this experience.
Very excited.
We've got like five minutes more driving to do.
Then we're there.
I'm very hungry at this point.
I've heard there's hot dogs available.
Maybe some popcorn.
We're not allowed to bring any food and drink of our own.
I don't know.
I guess they do car checks or something.
So we haven't obviously bought anything with us.
So we'll just buy some stuff when we get there.
And I don't know how it works.
I guess there's a screen outside.
Do you tune your radio to hear it?
Or do you open your window to hear it?
I mean.
Can you keep your air conditioning on?
Yeah.
Can you keep the cars running?
Is that a thing?
I don't know.
Find out.
Very soon.
Very soon on the vlog.
Yes.
So let's head there now.
Ready?
Yeah, yeah.
Turn right here.
We'll head there now.
And we'll show you guys as much as we can.
But obviously we can't show the film.
Just cleaning our screen ready for the movie.
This is like the perfect screen.
It's so big, isn't it?
Yeah.
It's not like a little sports car
where it's just like a tiny little thin thing.
It's perfect.
Sorry for the low quality.
We flipped over to the phone.
We're currently queuing.
We have a QR code.
Thank you for the light, George.
Basically you have to scan a QR code
and then fill out a contact tracing form
and then we can head over to the screen.
It looks really cool.
I'll try and show you in a second.
So the screen is just here.
And I guess everyone's parking along here.
It's so cool.
So many places to park.
Yeah.
And so many cars here.
I'm glad we're high up.
Yeah, true.
Because otherwise,
you've got a low car.
Oh, mind you, they put it in sections, don't they?
Ticket.
Wow, tiny.
Cool.
So this is the copy.
Okay.
Directly inserted the frequency channel
for the movie audio.
Ah, nice.
Just two names for the FM radio
and then 88.5.
Cool.
And then for the contact tracing form,
you have an option to fill this up online
or manually, sir.
Okay.
It will collect up on empty.
Great.
Okay, cool.
Cool.
Thank you so much.
Cool.
This is so good.
Thank you.
So we can text for our snacks.
And this is the radio.
Oh, it's going right on.
Sorry.
It's fine, it's fine.
And this is the radio frequency we have to tune in on.
Hi.
Hi, thanks.
Okay.
So we get a free bottled water, I think.
In a little bag.
This is so cool.
I love it.
Hi, Bob.
Hola.
Hi.
Thank you.
Oh, thank you so much.
Nice.
Amazing.
Thank you so much.
Do you have any additional orders?
Uh-huh.
And we just text.
And then it comes to the car?
Yes, sir.
Amazing.
Thank you so much.
Thank you.
Salamat.
F9.
Oh.
Thank you, kuya.
Thank you.
Okay, thank you so much.
Wow, this is great.
This is very well set up, actually.
Thank you.
Don't run them over.
There's so many people.
Thank you.
So many people helping us park.
Let's turn this off so you can see what we mean.
Wow, this is cool, man.
Wow.
Right at the back.
Yeah.
Reverse it.
So they're now covering our lights up
so that we don't block the,
or like annoy the people in front, I guess,
which is cool.
So they put a little,
I don't know what it is, like a sticker.
And he's putting tape on the car
to cover the lights with sellotape.
I wonder if they'll take it off again.
Thank you.
Maybe, thanks.
Hey, we need to order some food.
Should we see what came?
Because they said a sandwich came
and this says hot dog.
Is this already a hot dog?
Okay, so we have some popcorn.
Is there two of these or one?
Wow, there's two pop,
two popcorns.
Maybe this is already a hot dog,
but I might order another one.
It's also a burger.
Oh yeah, this is a hot dog,
but it's just a plain one.
So I might order,
they do a Hawaiian loaded hot dog
and a low hot,
an aloha sausage dog hot.
You know what I'm saying?
And I might get some fries.
What do you think?
Okay guys, so we are about to tune our radio.
The movie is about to start.
So obviously we can't film anything
from this point forward,
but we've got a nice little view.
We're going to get our blankets,
get our pillows.
We've got our hot dogs.
Going to order a little bit more food
and then we're going to chill
and watch the movie.
So we'll catch up with you after.
We'll let you know what the experience was like.
Okay, we have tuned into 88.5
and we can't hear anything yet,
but I guess the film's not started yet.
88.5 cinema radio.
Okay, the movie has just finished.
It was really good.
It was very scary now that we're taking a drive.
It was all about someone
that had some crazy road rage.
Someone beeped at a stoplight
because someone wasn't going on red.
No spoilers though, Luce,
because people might go and watch the movie.
No, but that's in the trailer.
Like someone basically gets crazy road rage
and it's kind of horrible.
This person, what this person does.
But good movie.
Like I was pretty pleased with it.
It's kind of now scary, like I said,
driving home because it's all about being off.
Yeah, a little bit.
Going to take it really easy
and not, you know, get into any situations.
But it was a good movie.
I have to say, super.
Where am I looking?
Where's the lens?
I don't know, my eyes are all over the place.
I think it's here.
Super impressed by how this was set up
by the SM staff.
You come in, they're super welcoming and friendly.
So nice.
They don't rush you.
There's a lot of, yeah, we want to come back
just for like a movie night.
I just realized I have my seatbelt on the whole time.
Are you serious?
I didn't take my seatbelt off.
You could have been way more comfortable.
Why didn't I take my seatbelt off?
A nice experience.
Yeah, you come in, they are super friendly.
They don't rush you.
They tell you exactly how to order extra food if you want.
They give you the frequency for the audio.
The audio quality was good.
It didn't sound like bad old radio.
It sounded pretty good.
A little bit, a little bit rumbly.
We were quite near, we were the furthest back
that you can possibly be.
I don't know, we were 20 minutes early before the film,
but we still were like one of the last people in.
So everyone got early.
So if you do come, come nice and early
so you maybe get a bit closer to the front,
but we're nice and central.
So we weren't looking through like our A pillar in the car
so we could see the screen very well.
It was a little bit small sometimes.
I couldn't quite see if it was a man or a woman
a few times on the screen.
That's just your eyesight.
I was fine.
We ordered more food.
All you do is text.
You text them.
Someone literally replied.
It wasn't like a robotic automatic texting.
Someone replied to me, double-checked my order.
They came to the, the guy actually watched our video.
So if that was you watching, thanks for saying hi.
Thanks for bringing us our extra food.
We are now the last ones in here.
And then you just pay in cash
and then we got some extra food.
And they also exited everyone.
Yeah, we are the last ones in there cause we're vlogging,
but they exited everyone kind of row by row.
So all around super efficient, super simple.
A great thing to come and do during a quarantine situation.
No contact.
It's like you're at home.
Like we were saying that we could,
we were talking to each other a little bit like,
oh, did you see that?
And what do you think that means?
Yeah, we could talk as loud as we wanted,
which you can't do in the cinema.
Sorry, did I whack you?
Smack me, yeah.
Well, yeah, exactly.
In the cinema, I'm often thinking,
I want to tell George this.
I want to see what he, what he's thinking as well.
So this time we could actually talk.
We had the benefit of being at home
in that we're talking to each other.
Oh my God.
We also have the benefit of the cinema.
I had a pillow here.
We had our blankets.
And then you have the benefit of being in a cinema
where it's like a big screen
and it's more of like a commercial experience.
Yeah, it was a really nice, cozy experience.
We could control the volume as we liked.
And yeah, really, really nice.
So we're going to go home.
That was a great experience.
If you are able to come and do this.
Do it.
Yeah, we recommend it.
It's very, very cool.
I think we'll come back and do another movie soon.
I think it's a regular thing.
So we can just come like whenever
and just have like a little movie night.
So if you're new around here,
please give the video a big thumbs up,
subscribe to the channel if you're new
and we'll see you in the next Daily Juice.
I feel really, I feel like I want to go to bed.
I don't want to drive home now.
You don't have to, I'm driving.
I know.
You can just keep your blanket and your pillow
and just have a little nap.
Okay.
All right guys, see you later.
Bye.
