透視的運用

Everybody welcome to another what's weekly in this week. We're going to do a little something different. We've got
Brian doing a demonstration of a foreshortened extreme foreshortened figure
Atelier. As many of you know, you're already in the program. So you're already very familiar with it. But we like to do these little things from time to time just to kind of keep you
oiled up and ready to go and just and showing you some of the what we do here. If you are new and if you are new, then make sure you
You know, hit subscribe on the on the channel. We really appreciate it. We actually just hit 100,000, which is awesome. So thank you guys for supporting us because we're trying to do more content, but it really helps
If we can get a little bit of love from you guys.
So again, pass it on to a friend. Let them know about our site. Let them know about what we do. And we really appreciate it. Have a great time. Push play. Keep pushing play, my friends. And I will see you on another Watch Weekly very soon. Cheers.
So keep in mind, like we can't rely on on our proportions that we kind of memorize generally, they all break down eventually. And in this case, they definitely did. So
We have a torso coming at us a lot and legs and arm.
So again, we need to measure and figure out where the halfway point is on this thing.
Also,
my
it's kind of an awkward shape. Okay, it is taller than it is wide. That's good. I was afraid it was like square should be okay. Okay, so I want the top to be here.
The bottom of the feet to be way down here.
Now
I'm going to
measure this figure out exactly where that halfway point is
to be pretty low. It's like
gosh, like part way up her calf. I mean, that's how foreshortened this pose is.
Yeah, so almost right where her calf kind of bulges out on the leg that's closest to us is like the halfway point. At least that's what it looks like to me when I measure it. So yeah, let's find that on here real quick.
Okay, we're halfway point
and we're going to look now
say this is halfway
the top
is awkward. There's gonna be a big sweep
the head, let's put her head here
and a sweep that kind of goes up and over
and down
into the legs, right, which are going to be about here.
This leg is going to be
just gigantic
It's a normal size leg. It's just coming right at us.
Okay, so there's her head now
here
It's going to make kind of this big shape, I think
I don't know how correct this is exactly, but
I think it's close. Okay, so that's the halfway point
Okay, what I'm measuring
because it's such a unique pose, like I wasn't entirely sure, like we can't really see her head. We can't use her head to measure anything
And we can see like the bottom of her jaw. That's no good for measuring
So I took the width of her torso. We're seeing it from the side and lean way back
So it makes just like a little wedge space up here
I measured how many of those down to the halfway point to give you a good starting position for this torso width
And then from there
I'm going to come in here and just kind of start
building this stuff a little bit
and kind of trying to figure out
Also, if this is the bottom of that torso
and I can come up a little bit to here, that should kind of show me where the legs go
I'm just going to go about in here
This one specifically
I like in here
Okay
This is enough I think
Arm
Here
Shoulder
I'm going to send out here
Here
So I mean these four shortening things again. I know I keep saying this, but it's really
How training your brain did not draw
What you think you're seeing and to really take the time to analyze things and make sure
You're seeing things correctly and that
How do we describe that
Like our minds always have a tendency to want to draw
Like what we think an object should look like which basically means we're going to follow the same pattern
We're going to try to flatten it out and
Take it out of perspective, right? So like if we want to draw an eye, maybe you have a kid or somebody draw an eye
They draw like a symbol of an eye, right? They draw like this kind of thing
Boom, like this in the middle
And that's the eye, right?
Like for some reason our mind when we just try and draw something without knowing anything about how to draw
That's how we try to do it, you know, so when we get in these extreme for shortened poses
Like our mind constantly wants to like
Pull things back out and make them look like we think they should look
And so we need to avoid that really as much as possible
Okay, so this
Her far hip
If I look through the form
Glutes are going to sit like down here
All right, so I'm starting to get some interesting shapes up here
All right, her head, wait, let's go lower
It's going to sit back here
All right, and then
Her eyes like down here
So again, we got to start thinking about these big shapes and what's going on
And this knee is going to come out to about
Sorry, I confused myself, I'm making sure this is all going to line up for real
This knee needs to sit higher, that's what I'm figuring out
I think
Okay, so we need that wedge shape in there
This knee now
Sit like here
Kind of like that
Okay, this is tricky, so that's enough torso for now
That I think we can come in and start figuring out
Where the rest of this stuff is going to go
All right, so we can come in here and kind of find
Some legs
So that's going to be a little big a little bit
All right, this one sits here and this one's going to sit
Here kind of
Basically come down that way
Okay, so start thinking about what's going on with this torso, right
So we have kind of that rib cage
And the rib cage can be a big oval or a cylinder or it can be a box, either one
In this case, I'm going to draw it kind of boxy, right
We have some specific stuff going on up here
Right, we can really see
Where this boxy shape sits in here
Kind of that opening
The rib cage and then we get a box, right
We can see her hip now, right
We can see part of her hip right in here
Which tells me that
The other side of the hip is going to sit right here
Boxy shape now
Sitting in here like this
Now don't use legs for a second
Just focus on torso
Right, so we're getting
Cylindrical form
In here, right
So we have the hip connecting
Around here
And
Now her legs blocking this connection point
But we can see these ASIS points, right
So if that leg wasn't there, we'd be able to figure out exactly where the pubic bone sits
Where the inguinal ligament connects
Right, where the abdomen would drop down in here
Right and drop her right in there
And it would all work out pretty well, I think
If we got that box in the right spot
Ribs
I'm kind of realizing this section here feels a little bit
but then cylindrical form
in the armpit
across here
here
boxy shape for the wrist
right
it's right about here
and
here
and this time I'm more
certain that it's in the right spot
it feels a little better
at least how all this stuff
walks together now feels about right
and
yeah
now we just need to figure out
how to get
these abs on here
so remember
we're looking up at her
and if we had
week wrapping around
we'd be making
across the abs
that way
try to get that belly button in there
right kind of sitting there like that
make sure it's going the direction
that makes sense
for the
perspective that we're looking at it from
flat
everything kind of getting pinched that way
right figure out how those abs
are kind of stuck on there
and then legs right
so got to get these legs on here somehow
which is going to be tricky
I mean they're really coming towards us
like a lot
so starting with
figuring out where the knee aligns
right we'll do the one
in front well the knee that's in front
first
it sits like right
one here cuts over this way
right and then down
that way
it's not very long
it doesn't come much past this hip
like it comes to about here
you know I had it too far out before
right so the knee then
sits here
and this knee is going to be big
way bigger than her head for sure
it's really coming towards us
right and it's going to sweeten back
kind of this way
right
okay so again we get
her
hip
this way connects
around
I'm trying to figure out the width of the knee right now
let's get rid of some of these construction lines
in the way
right so we have this thing coming towards us
but we got to figure out okay what's the width of the knee
here
and how is it coming towards us
right so we get this part wrapping around
this way
and under
here
it's a tough angle
I want to make sure there's enough width here as well
I think that feels pretty good
right so
keep in mind there's bone in here
coming down here
but
cap
out that way
now we got to think about what's going on here
right these are cylindrical forms
right cylinder
whereas the front of the cylinder sits about here
connects to the knee
right which is sitting out here
knee cap
that's out here
now before I go much farther
I want to get this other knee on here
got to make sure these work together
as a pair
so this one
open over like that
and then we need to look at the negative shape
right there's a little negative shape between that knee
or this knee
and right in there
right little shape
so we have to design this knee around that space
they have to work together
outside of the knee
it'll probably be about out there
and from here we can find
a general sweep of this
leg
that's going to come down
and connect
way down here
sweep down
two
three
five
seven
eight
nine
one
three
four
and that foot's going to go
and then this one's going to sweep down
disappear behind this one
it's getting twisted all weird
okay so
I mean it took a while to place that stuff right
I mean I adjusted like a million times
and again
that's kind of how foreshortening goes sometimes
like it doesn't compute
quite right with your brain for some reason
like anytime I try to do this
I have to like fight against
how my brain wants to draw it
you know cause for some reason
it just has a hard time
just in general I mean
everybody I've seen attempt this
has a hard time with it
let me lighten these real quick
they're in the right spot
but we need better shapes
right so let's find
this one first
it's going to come out
down
knee cap is going to be overlapping
here
knee cap
bone sticks out from under there
this way
and that way
I get that little overlap
in there
it's notorious
right dropping down this way
rhythmically it'll kind of walk
around like that a little bit
getting this cap on here
out
down
double checking what's going on
down here one more time
can't do it enough cause
cause
often times when I do this it's wrong
so you gotta double check a lot
foot shape on there
there's like tracing paper on here
there's not
ok let's get this other one on here
and then we're pretty much done
also we gotta figure out
this one's coming out towards us right
so this actually wraps more
in this direction a bit
this direction a little bit
no
once I got this in place I realized
this leg needs to like bend
so we need to get this
at an angle
in a little bit more
there we go
and this
also be a bit more
extreme I think
kind of ambiguous
it's out here
and way back
like this
and there's more angle to it
essentially
it looks awkward
but it's really going away from us
like considerably
like really tweaked
ok so this one's going away
from us now right
so we get contours going more in this way
in this way
there we go
ok
