It's just such a nice feeling, being here. I get really emotional watching it.
One of the best things you'll ever see in the Philippines, I think.
Really, really, really cool.
Dinner Gang is awesome.
Good energy!
Good morning guys, and welcome to another Daily Doose. Welcome to Dinner Gang Festival 2020.
We are super excited. I'm starting my day with a Gimaris mango, and I don't think you can get much better than that.
But we're super excited. We came last year, and it was amazing, so we're back for more.
We've got a delicious breakfast here to fuel us up for the day.
At the Courtyard Marriott in Iloilo have been kind enough to have us stay.
But yeah, we're all excited. We're having some brekkie now.
Are you guys ready?
Yeah.
Wait, where are all your feathers?
Am I the only one?
Thanks, George.
About to head into a taxi. We're going to drive as far as we can to the festival,
but I'm pretty sure the roads are going to be closed off again.
Do you know what's happened to your little thing?
Oh no, that's how it's supposed to be, right?
Is it? Do both sides?
Yes.
Cool, cool.
It's normal. It's just how you do it.
The embarrassing thing is that it fell off the one side. Now this is normal.
Yeah, exactly.
Anyway, yeah, we're going to then get a taxi as close as we can to the craziness,
and then walk to our stage of wherever this is.
This is our, I think we're stage, yellow stage, something Maria, but I can't remember the name.
Stage four.
All right, guys, we've been dropped off in a cab,
and we are now kind of entering through the back roads and the side roads.
Mike has started his vlog. They're very excited.
Really good atmosphere here today already.
Some 7-Elevens have toilets.
Can we have a look?
Maybe, yeah.
But guys, the good news is we have our media passes.
This way?
Thank you.
We have our media passes.
We can get access to the dancing, to the festivities, to the tribal, everything going on today.
You guys will see in this video.
Hi, good morning.
Good morning.
Thank you, thank you.
But right now it's quiet.
As you can see, these roads are empty.
But if you can see just down here, that is where it's going to get crazy, crazy, crazy.
And we said in the vlog the other day, we heard from some locals that dinner gang this year is next level.
They've put more money into it.
They've put more effort in.
They've put more time.
Everything, everything apparently from what we've heard is leveled up from last year.
And we thought last year was amazing.
We thought last year was crazy.
So we're very excited for this.
So we've recently learned that the thing to chant here, you know, like Pits and York,
is Halabira.
Halabira.
Halabira?
I don't know if I'm pronouncing it correctly, but that's how I read it.
So, that's cool.
Okay, it's time to find our place on the stage.
We've got to get through these people and squeeze our way through to where we're going
to be able to get a great view of the performance hopefully.
Thank you.
Okay, we're in.
And I've got to find somewhere high to sit.
I've got to like super high seat.
As you can see here, there's so many people here already.
But basically in between each dance, they get all the stuff ready for the next one.
So that's what's happening right now.
So we've got our seats, but they're not as good as last year.
We have a few people in front of us.
So we're going to try our best with the switches for you guys.
But they're not letting us lift our cameras too high for the people behind.
So, we'll see.
Fingers crossed.
And this is a heavy camera and there's people everywhere.
So I have to hold it up the whole time and try and get the footage stable enough.
So, sweaty work, but that was amazing.
We had said last year, it's the same, the passion and the emotion behind the dances
and how many people involved, how many hours of work that's gone into it.
We're sat here, sweating our arses off.
These people are dancing in the heat five or six times the different stages today.
So these guys are incredible.
They're putting so much effort in.
The sun is beating down today as well.
It's super hot and it's still only early in the morning.
But they're doing so well.
And it's just such a nice feeling being here.
I get really emotional watching it.
And it's the two smiles the whole time.
Yeah, so, so impressive.
It goes on for so long, the dances.
The music changes about six or seven times.
The drummers are actually behind us.
So, like, the music's coming from the back, the dancing's in front.
Really, really cool.
How they learn all that, I have no idea.
How the music stays, like, everything just works together.
It's super impressive.
One of the best things you'll ever see in the Philippines, I think.
Really, really, really cool.
They are so cute.
Representation of how sweaty I am.
Awesome.
So good.
The performances are on point.
The dancers seem to be a little bit younger this year than last year.
I feel.
Let me know if that's right in the comments down below.
So good.
So nice.
Such a great atmosphere.
Good energy.
And the vibe is just perfect.
Two thumbs up.
Here's a physics quiz for you.
What?
Why do these dancers seem to break the laws of physics with their amazing moves?
The answer is dinagyang magic.
You're just watching it and you're like, how do they all remember everything?
And it's long.
Good job.
Amazing.
So, so good.
We're going to now try and get a slightly different view of it and have a little look around as well.
But so good.
The performances are just great.
So cool.
And now we're walking with the performers, which is fun.
Okay, suddenly it's gone selfie crazy over here.
So many of you guys.
Really, really cool.
The last one that we just saw, I think it was the La Paz High School.
There was over 600 people involved, which is just incredible.
There's thousands and thousands of people that have been learning these dances all year round,
come together today for this epic festival.
And also there were little performances in between each of the tribes dancing,
which represented a festival that's held in Iloilo like the Chinese New Year,
and other ones like that.
So loads of really cool dancing and things to see today.
Amazing.
Hello.
Thank you.
Alright guys, we made it back to our hotel room.
That was so, so good.
So much fun.
Hope you enjoyed seeing all the dances and all the culture from such an amazing festival in the Philippines.
If you haven't been to any Philippines festivals before, highly, highly recommend it.
January is like the best time to do that.
You've got Sinlog, you've got Dinnegang.
But loads of others throughout the year as well in the Philippines.
Thanks to everyone who came and said hi to us.
We had so many selfies and met loads of you guys, so that was really, really cool.
This video was filmed today, so if you're watching on the day of Dinnegang,
and you weren't able to be here, I hope you enjoyed the video.
I hope you enjoyed seeing everything that went on today.
There are more Iloilo vlogs coming very, very soon on the channel,
so make sure you're subscribed.
Give this video a thumbs up if you enjoyed it.
And we'll see you in the next Daily Juice.
Bye guys.
