Foreigners Drive to North Philippines and THIS HAPPENED!

Morning. Oh, that's me. Good morning, guys. Welcome to another Daily Juice. If all goes to plan today, we will be off on a road trip. We're having a few complications with a vehicle. Won't bore you with the details, but we're working on it. We're doing what we can to get a vehicle sorted for today. So fingers crossed that will be the case. There's also a coffee festival going on today in Manila, which we definitely want to swing by. A load of you guys have recommended that we go and check that out. Right now, I think it's like 10 o'clock. We all got some work done this morning in the hotel, and now we are off for some breakfast. Another very, very tasty breakfast at Comune. We highly recommend this place. Good coffee, good food. They also gave us a little cake, which was a calamansi cake. Very, very delicious. We're hopping in a Grab now. Check out of our hotel in a couple of hours. Hey, morning. Well, it's very bright. Excited. We're just looking at something to do tomorrow, maybe. There's a lot of fun things coming up on the channel, guys. A lot of adventure. We're going to swing by the guest store in Glorieta 2, because they've invited us to come and pick some clothes out, which would be cool. A little bit of a shop this morning before we get on the way on the road to hopefully pick out some nice pieces. We are also starting to really, really feel the heat here in the Philippines. So I gave you a few insights about the theory of relativity in the last few days and traveling at light speed. It's not. It's really not. Just piece together what I taught you. All right. Imagine a rocket man that has a spaceship that can travel at the speed of light. Now, I know it is impossible. I know why it's impossible now. Yeah, exactly. But let's say he has a rocket that can travel at the speed of light. And on this rocket, he has this amazing telescope that can look really far. At 12 o'clock, he boards his rocket and travels away from planet Earth at the speed of light, then takes his telescope and looks back at the clock on Earth. So after 10 hours, what time is it on that clock? 12 o'clock. George? 12 o'clock. Nellie? Clock stopped? I don't know. I thought time stopped, so it's still 12. Damn it. I don't know. I'm so proud of you guys. So we're coming in to guests now, who are kindly gifting us some clothes for the upcoming road trip. So we're going to all choose a few pieces. I love the clothes here. We looked last time. Look at that. I think I tried a jacket on in guests in a vlog a little while ago. It was too small, so if they've got that, that could be an option. We've all been loaded up with some clothes, and we're very happy. Is everyone happy with their purchases? So happy. So many nice pieces. So much fun. Yeah, I loved it. And so comfy, and so nice. Great quality. All right, guys. So we're actually trying to leave Manila, as we said, but we're having some difficulties, which we will explain in just a second. So let me tell you a short story. Sometimes things are easy to arrange. And sometimes things are difficult to arrange. Whenever there's other people involved, things take time, things go wrong, things don't quite go as planned. And this is kind of what has happened with the whole getting a car situation. We thought we had something set up. That kind of didn't work out due to timing reasons and stuff. We then thought we had another thing set up, but then the car we wanted wasn't available until tomorrow, but we want to get on the road today. We then went to another place and started talking to them, and that kind of didn't work out. But there is good news, because we have been saved by our good friends at Volkswagen, who are... Oh, you got mango. Nice. Who are lending us a car for the road trip. So thanks so much to the team at Volkswagen AC Motors. We're picking the car up from BGC this afternoon. I just got mango juice in my white trainers. Oh, no. Because it's not good. And I'm so happy to tell you and to tell ourselves that we will be hitting the road. We don't like to spend too long in one place, so we've had enough time in Manila, but it's ready to get making it juicy on the road. Actually on the road. So we just arrived at VW, and we're going to pick up our new ride, which we will show you, and then we can name. Very exciting. Yeah. Hi, nice to see you today. Hi, I'm Patricia. Nice to meet you. You hear that? That's how a car door is supposed to sound. Yeah, sure. So we're just picking up the car. I met the team here at Volkswagen, all really, really friendly people, and we have the new ride. We're very, very excited. We're hitting the road pretty much straight away. We've got about three hours of driving tonight. We're very excited to get going. Tomorrow, you guys want to see tomorrow's vlog. We are doing something very, very exciting. We've got a hike planned for tomorrow. And I think we can all agree that this is a step up from Roche. No, no, no. This is Roche's attractive German younger sister or brother? Boy or girl? Brother. You've seen the car now. We need your guys' help. The number plate is something like N-O-B-O-S something. So if that helps at all. Cool. Maybe. First stop on the trip so far. We've pulled into a food place. We've made out of Manila. It took us an hour to go from BGC back to Hopin, which is what we were saying. And then we had an hour and a half drive back through Manila to come out onto the toll road. So it was long. But we are now back onto much of the road. So it's so much quicker. But we're going to get some food now. I'm not sure where we're going to go. But thank you. Thank you. There's quite a few choices there. We're also running out of options because of the time. So it's nearly 10 p.m. now. Look at my hat. So we've already had a Jollibee since being back. But we haven't yet had a Chao King. So are we going to do that? Ah, yes. I was about to say, just demolish a Chao King. Just before we get back on the road, we'll get a Starbucks. For some reason, I entered a military base. Yeah, we're in a military base. We're in the Philippines. And just to show you that I'm not joking, I got a military base ID. Oh my. For whatever reason, I have a military base ID now. Don't have my ID anymore. Also have no idea where we are. We're just on a pitch black road. No internet. The phone signal is gone. This is an adventure. This is accommodation. So we're staying somewhere tonight, which is somewhere we can directly access. Mount Pinatubo, which is a trek we're doing tomorrow morning really early. So instead of staying somewhere far out, we thought we'd stay as close as we can to it so we can get up early and it's much more efficient. So we've chosen to stay here. We didn't realise that it's in a military base camp. We were just quite surprised to be stopped and there's a massive sign that says military base camp. And there were guards with huge machine guns asking for our ID and stuff. And they checked the trunk of the car. But it seemed fine. These weren't just security. These were trained soldiers. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They're all in uniform. But they were very friendly trained soldiers. They were really nice. Super friendly. Gave me military ID. Yeah, we now have military ID, which is great. And there's a cat. There's so many dogs here. And apparently cats. But there's so many dogs here. So many. Military dogs everywhere. We're super excited for tomorrow's hike. But basically we're staying here for like, I think we're going to have like five hours sleep maybe by the time we've stopped. It's almost midnight now. So the Manila traffic kind of took our evening away. Yep. Screwed us over a little bit today. But it's all good. And then we've got an early, I think a six o'clock breakfast at this guest house. So it's called Alvin and Angie's Guesthouse. I think it's for the trek. Pier 2 by parking. Oh, I need to actually look at my phone. Oh, OK. So it's on the left in 600 metres. Doggies. Oh, it's a puppy. Don't trust it. It's a military dog. Burger Depot. Hello, burgers. OK, it's on the left in 400 metres. Hide the cameras, we have another military thing. Oh, really? Nice. This looks really cool. Yeah, this doesn't look military based at all. Wow, it's so pretty. You can't really see it, it's dark. I'm sure we'll show you in the morning. So is this the parking? Yeah. Or is this like... Do we want to just go as close as we can to the entrance because we've got all our bags? Should I turn around? True, yeah. We have to wait for all the people. We're driving around in the backyard. Just do a donut. Just do donuts everywhere. Right, guys, we actually have to do something tonight. Hello, sorry. There's a hike, and then the lake, and then hike, then drive. Just discussing tomorrow. And then you get your idea back. Made it to our apartment. It's kind of like this guest house thing. We've got like an apartment. This is kind of our bedroom with a bed here. I think we've kind of got this entire unit. I'm not too sure. And then we've got like a hallway with... A small seating area. Yeah, a seating area. And then, yeah, a second little bedroom here. The guy that let us in was asleep when we got here. And I think he was staying up for us. But as we left, we got here so late. We said we'd be here at like 10, and it's like midnight. And he's... We had to wake him up. Yeah, we walked in like, excuse me. We had to keep getting louder. We're like, excuse me. But this is really convenient because the people who own this and have put us up here also run the tour and provide us breakfast and lunch. It's good. Oh, yeah. And tomorrow looks insane. We've all been looking at photos on Instagram of this lake that we're going to go to and the mountain. It looks really worth the visit. Yeah, definitely. So we're all very excited. Because if you look on the map, this is right next to a place called Pinatubo Tours tracking start point. So we're already here. So normally, like, you have to wake up extra early to drive here. We're already here. So then we only have a little drive and then the hike. Yeah, and the drive was good. The car was comfortable. We got there in a really good way. We're so thankful for the car.
