STORYTIME! HOW WE MET & WHY WE STARTED YOUTUBE

[Music] hi everybody today we're filming a bit of a story time we're going to tell the story of how we met our journey so far up until the point now in which we're moving in together what we're going to do is go through every single day individually of what we've done for the past about a thousand days it's going to be a 9 and 1 half hour video so get comy get some popcorn put your feet up for people who watch us who know us then you might know this already but you might not know little details for people who have just started watching us you may not know anything about us throughout some of our videos so far we've said bits here and there but you've never had like the full story what I'd like to do in a few years is maybe do this again and see what's changed How Far We've Come yeah that's scary thinking about that and there'll be a mini one of us in the middle I got to go I'll see you later thanks for watching convince him I want one sh you cannot say that on a video why I do just cuz all our friends are having babies Oh I want one no okay okay we've been going out for three just under 3 years 2 years and 9 months in 4 days we met in the year 2011 at a party yes it wasn't just any party it was Molly Bon's 18th birthday party hi Molly I had a girlfriend at the time and she took me along to this party so basically it was by chance like you weren't going to go I thought were you like genuinely not I was just going along at this party George bought a mate along and me and that guy after the party we started texting now this guy is one of George's mates yeah and myself and George's friend ended up like being a couple for a bit like it wasn't for long it for a few months um we used to hang out didn't we like it was me and your friend and then you and your ex and so we actually went on double dates like several double dates really weird and we always got on really really well didn't we yeah like really like we've only hilarious is we were on really well but it was never anything more than literally just friends like we never I didn't even cross my mind like at all so the next year we're in 2012 I break up with my girlfriend I'm in uni I'm having a great time yeah I'm a single Pringle out on the market I'm also single cuz I broke up this girl after like 3 months towards the end of 2012 September October time in my eyes we were like we were chatting as friends we'd be on Skype like he'd be at Uni and I'd be up till 3:00 in the morning we'd be laughing I'm like yes I'm putting in the work kit I know I liked her genuinely not interested I'm sorry but I didn't find your attractive I don't know why I really don't know why but at the time I was like I don't I don't think i' want to be that's soing I thought you were hilarious and like a great guy but like very true I was very like not frigid but like I was literally like maybe like a relationship fobe and I was just like I don't want anything like that was one time I came around here I'd already met his parents that bit was out of the way already we were sitting in this exact room with a takeway watching TV in just down there yeah watching TV in bed and in my eyes that wasn't wrong in my eyes were're mates I don't even know if I can imagine what you were thinking so my side of the story at this point we've been speaking loads it's going really well meeting up a lot oh I think she really likes me I'm going for it I'm going in well that sounds weird sorry didn't mean that not in that way it wasn't until the end of 2013 when I was 16 going on 17 and I asked her on a date I decided to call this next Meetup a date which freaked me out yeah and I was like really are you sure like why why are we going on a date I don't like you in that way which put me back a few steps I was like oh my God but I thought Go With It Anyway impress her do what you can if it doesn't work it doesn't work but at least I tried so we went for a Chinese meal on the way home from that meal was it amazing it was a lovely meal we had a great time on the way home I sort of said you know are we going to progress this thing we've been building in you didn't say it in that way would have run and you go can I have a think about it do I have to tell you now that's what I got so then I walked home it was raining I had my head down I was strolling I was whistling to myself I was sad I event well actually I don't think you really gave you an answer but then you gave me another option of someone we ago so I thought right I got to do better than a Chinese meal in worthy it's my birthday wasn't it for your birthday coming up what can I do yeah I'm taking you for a night away in London which was like oh my God what the hell all my friends were like you've not even like you don't even know this guy and I was like no I do but we' known each other for for years by this point so this is the end of November and you take me to London for the night we went to win Wonderland walk through High Park went some nice meals out it was really lovely wasn't it yeah it was good and we've done this every year since now we make it like a thing a tradition we can't do it this year why we're in the Caribbean oh yeah so when we were walking back through woring train station on Sunday night it was like really late like midnight wasn't it and we worked the next day I had college and I remember you saying to me so were we like a thing then like we were walking upstairs I think we were holding hands at this point and you were like are we a thing then and I was like um yeah and this is up the down the back steps of Worthing station so romanting CH the best all the places we've been that weekend we chose to decide it there so since then we've done loads of stuff we've been on holidays and that is when we started filming stuff like this not quite like this no we went camping and we decided we'd make a little film about it I don't know why I don't know why it came from but we loved it we didn't really know much about vlogging at that point we neither of us really watched YouTubers Vlog did we we did we I I had the camera facing you most of the time you spoke and I was like a commentate commentary like from behind the camera and then you'd film me and I'd speak it was never like a front-facing Vlog for some reason we had this desire to share what we were doing we had this desire to create something that we could look back on it took us like days to edit didn't it we spent like a two week slot like editing every night definitely and now it takes a few hours to edit these videos cuz we got better at it we then went on a cruise and we thought let's film this as well let's make another video Let's make we got loads of places to go this is more exciting yeah and make a film of it and now that video go and check it out now it's got over 20,000 views that is our like most popular video on YouTube anyway so we then went on another holiday and we thought oh we filmed the last two holidays let's make a little movie for this holiday as well the whole idea behind it was just to document our holiday so you know like we have like a photo album of holidays we we've got that as well but we've also got this amazing like video of us walking around in this country like it's so cool I love the idea of it these all went up on YouTube they got Fair few views to be honest didn't they our channel was called George and Lucy UK at the time this was before the duty Vlog before we' even thought about actually doing YouTube and it was just for fun for us just somewhere to document our holidays to document like big parts that are happening in our lives and we just thought we'd carry on doing it that way so then we didn't have any holidays booked and we thought we really miss making videos we miss editing we miss creating something we miss sharing what we're doing we decided to make a proper YouTube channel we wanted to do vlogs we wanted to do challenges we want to do fun videos we want to do loads of stuff we don't want to just be have the channel to just to be for one thing like we like doing different stuff and we don't want every video to be the same but a little bit different so we thought lots of different angles would just work perfectly for us we're now in September 2015 we start watching a load of YouTubers and getting really addicted to vloggers and funny channels i' watched them before when I was younger but like no nothing like more recently and we thought we want to give that a shot we loved how these people had audiences how they could speak to people how they could make something and people could comment on it and give their opinion on what they'd made yeah and our jobs like we say sometimes we don't have yours is probably more creative than mine is but my job is like totally like uncreative I've got a lot of creativity in me and I don't get to feed that so this is like a way of is able to an outlet for our creativity we're sat in a room now now there's a light there there's a light there and there's a camera on a tripod I don't feel like I'm talking to a camera I don't know about you I feel like I'm talking to all of you who watch these videos and leave us comments imagine if like they were all sat there and we weird it like it' be a lot longer cuz we edit so much crap out of these videos so we then got to 1,000 subscribers recently and you guys know that yeah we did a giveaway the theory of Lauren won some likes and that kind of brings us up to this present day we've been together a long time we've done loads of things together we've been through a lot of ups and downs like there's been things that have happened in our Liv that have been like bad and we've helped each other which we've not necessarily put on this channel no yeah there's a lot happening in our lives away from the camera we help each other out a lot we argue of course we argue but in my eyes in my eyes I'd rather argue with someone from being honest with them and telling them exactly how I feel than not be able to tell someone if I'm not happy with something we've come this far now we're moving in together which is amazing the opportunity came up to for us to rent a flat and we said yeah let's go for it it was a no-brainer we didn't even have we live together now really pretty much we go between each other's houses we never spend a night away unless I'm away on training with work we don't we don't not see each other it was a Nob Brer we didn't have any decision really we both wanted to do it we wanted our own space it wasn't like oh I don't it was an exciting thing and that brings us up to the present day basically if you haven't seen the Vlog where we bought loads of furniture go and watch that after this video we're currently surrounded by like boxes of like pots and pans and knives can you see you can't see but over there that is full of stuff for the flat down there over there downstairs in my loft in my loads of stuff on delivery for September and you're going to come on this journey as well with us we're going to Vlog moving in we're going to Vlog the journey there will be ups and downs yeah of course but we hope it's entertaining in some way for you before we made this video we said to each other find three things one thing that you found attractive about the person as to why you wanted to be with them one thing that you found unattractive or that put you off of being with that person and one thing that you weren't sure about or that you were sure about but that's changed since getting to know them properly okay I write mine down them now yeah mine's on my phone so the thing you're going to hate me the thing that I didn't mine aren mean by the way are yours mean yeah I didn't like your hair we're going to put in a photo now of what Jordan's hair was like when I met him it like a proper man it's like a mop more like a main sounds good a mop is more descriptive of IT thing I didn't not that I didn't like about you I just thought you were too cool for me okay you were edgy you wore dungar yeah and you like bought everything from the lay in Brighton you've changed so much I know and I just wasn't like that I had no fashion when I was at College in Brighton it just what it was like and everyone more stuff like that you were very very brighter and at the time I wasn't that comes on nicely to my next point when I first met you I'm going to again put in a photo here of what George used to wear when you met me why I thought that was really cool at the time cuz I was like 15 when I met you I thought it was really cool um but now looking back on that and thinking what the hell were you wearing oh my God and now I'm so glad that I've designed your entire wardrobe and you to be fair Lucy is so much more than a girlfriend she's like a wardrobe designer stylist a stylist shees my haircuts she's my diary she arranges my life I thought you were more laidback than you are you thought I was laidback yeah when we first met you gave us this really really laidback kind of vibe and you're definitely not laid back not in a bad way you're very very organized and on top of things and you like things done fast and sufficiently I like the most about you that Drew me to you when I looked past your looks not finding you attractive see how funny you were like you'd make me laugh all the time like I'd literally be laughing constantly it' just be like hilarious wouldn't it do you remember that time when I stayed over and we we were watching films until 7:00 in the morning and you dropped me back okay the thing I most liked about you was your laugh a I still do cuz it's funny so that is our journey from then to now how we started YouTube how we
