Do you want to know how the TET German B2 exam really works?
No problem! I'll show you.
In this video, I'll explain all the parts of the exam so that you know exactly what to do.
Everything from reading comprehension to oral exam is included, so let's go!
The written exam takes exactly 2 hours and 20 minutes without a break.
And it consists of the following parts.
Reading comprehension, vocabulary, listening comprehension and written expression.
In reading comprehension, you read several texts, such as articles, e-mails or blog posts and answer questions.
You have to show that you understand information, can compare and can read between the lines.
There are a total of 3 to 4 tasks with multiple choice or assignment formats.
Important! Read the tasks carefully and pay attention to keywords.
In the part of the vocabulary, the TELC tests your vocabulary and grammar knowledge.
For example, you add gaps in short texts.
Here you need a good sense of sentence structure, articles, prepositions and perhaps also tongue twisters.
A tip! Learn typical idioms and repeat the most important B2 grammar rules.
In listening comprehension, you listen to different recordings, such as conversations, interviews or radio broadcasts.
You listen to every text once or twice, depending on the task.
Pay attention to the tone, keywords and questions.
So what, how, where, who.
Practice with original listening examples beforehand.
You can find them, for example, on the TELC website.
Now comes the written expression.
You should write a structured opinion text, usually on a social or everyday topic.
A clear argumentation, good structure, suitable speech and, of course, correct grammar are important.
Also learn useful beginning sentences such as
on the one hand, on the other hand or
I am of the opinion that ...
With that you score guaranteed.
The oral exam often takes place on the same day or the next day
and lasts for 15 minutes and consists of three parts.
Part 1 is your personal idea.
So you always introduce yourself personally, who you are, what you do, how old you are, what your hobbies are, etc.
Then there is a discussion on a specific topic, which you can prepare briefly.
And then you discuss with a conversation partner.
In the third part there is a team task.
That means you should maybe plan a party.
For example, the summer party at your work.
And you do that together with your conversation partner.
So let's summarize.
In part 1 of the oral exam there is the personal idea.
Name, profession, origin, hobbies or maybe your future plans.
This task does not exist so that you can find new friends in this room,
but so that the ice breaks a little first
and you can calm down a bit, you get a bit into the flow of the conversation.
So stay calm, speak clearly, speak freely and not memorized.
Speaking freely definitely brings you points.
In part 2 of the oral exam there is a discussion.
Here you get a topic.
For example, mobile phone use should be prohibited in schools.
And then you discuss this with your conversation partner.
You should make your opinion clear here,
bring arguments, agree or disagree with the other person
and above all make sure that you stay polite in this discussion
and use good speech.
So, for example, use sentences like
I see it differently because ...
or
What do you think about it?
This shows your communication skills.
In the third and last part of the oral exam there is a team task.
You get a task that you should solve together.
For example, discuss an excursion plan or a project.
This is about cooperation.
Make suggestions, accept suggestions or maybe disagree
and make decisions together.
Don't talk too much, but not too little either.
It is important that you find a good balance.
Ask your partner for a conversation like
What do you think about it?
Or
Do we want to?
And that's it.
Now you know exactly how the Telk Deutsch B2 exam is set up.
If you still need exercises,
then be sure to look in the video description.
Because in the info box we link you to exercise materials as PDS.
You can easily print them out and practice with them.
And remember, with good preparation and a portion of courage
you will definitely pass the exam.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
You can do it.
See you.
