Hi Revolve, I'm Kiana Davis, and today I'm taking you guys through my summer sun-kissed
makeup routine.
It is so easy and so fun to do, so let's just get straight into it.
First things first is skin prep.
Honestly, skin prep is one of the best things that you can do for your makeup.
It just ensures that your makeup's gonna lay nice all day long, and yeah.
I love a super moisturized, glowy, dewy base, so I'm going in with this Ilia Face Milk.
This essence just instantly plumps my skin and also takes a little bit of the redness
away, which is a bonus.
Just kind of pat it in all over, and this just leaves a plump and hydrated base for
my makeup just to glide right over, and honestly, that's just perfect.
Next is sunscreen.
This would not be a proper sun-kissed summer tutorial without a good SPF.
I love this SPF.
This is the Summer Fridays Shade Drops.
This is their mineral sunscreen.
This is like a milk texture.
Honestly, it is so perfect, and it just glides so perfectly on.
This is genuinely just the perfect texture, as well as my makeup tends to really, really
love this sunscreen.
It glides on and just leaves this nice, silky, velvety texture for all of my makeup to glide
onto.
Once I have both of those on, I let them sink into my skin for just a couple of minutes,
and then we'll be right onto our base makeup.
Okay, next up is our base weight product.
I really don't want something that has crazy coverage.
I would say light to medium coverage, and just going to leave my skin really glowy and
dewy.
That is why I love the Charlotte Tilbury Unreal Skin Sheer Glow Tint Hydrating Foundation
Stick.
It's kind of a mouthful, but you guys, it's worth it.
I'm just taking shade five medium and going on the lower portion of my face.
I try and keep it concentrated on the lower portion of my face.
I will add a little bit, but honestly, I try and keep most makeup off of my forehead.
I just find that it gets really cakey up there really fast, and I feel like it just looks
like I'm wearing makeup.
The whole point of this is to make it look like we are not wearing makeup.
Then I'm just going to kind of stamp that into my skin, and I'm mainly pressing that
into my skin where I'm not going to be putting concealer.
I don't want to layer too many products on top of each other, because once again, it
kind of starts looking cakey, and the goal here is to keep it as minimal as possible
so that your real skin shines through.
Of course, dragging it down.
I never want to be the person who has like half of their makeup stopping right here,
so I always try and drag it down past my chin.
Next up is my concealer.
I am obsessed with the Tower 28 concealer.
This is my favorite concealer of all time.
This is their, I believe it's called their serum concealer.
I will mainly just go in under my eyes, and then as well as under my nose, and the tiniest
little bit on my chin.
My main goal here isn't actually to brighten.
I just feel that brightening kind of makes it look a little less natural.
It really is just to add a little bit of coverage, and as well as just kind of get my face all
the same skin tone.
Next up is bronzer and blush, and honestly, I feel like this is the most important part
of the routine, and it's kind of what sets it apart from everything else.
You're going to take your bronzer.
I'm taking Tower 28 Sculptino in the shade Jetty.
We're really focusing on those high points of the face, kind of that three zone, and
I think that's really what draws us in to be a sun-kissed makeup routine, because the
sun is naturally going to tan and burn the high points of your face quicker than other
points of your face.
So we're kind of trying to mimic that.
I know it looks a little crazy, but I'm going to blend it out.
For eyes, I'm pretty simple.
I just kind of drag this bronzer into my eyelid, and that's basically my eyeshadow.
Super easy, and then I'm going to do the exact same thing on this side.
I'm just kind of doing this overall C-shape motion, as well as dragging it down just a
little bit on my cheek.
That way, there's not too harsh of a line.
I don't want it too chiseled.
Again, we want really natural.
Then we're taking that little bit, and we're going to go on the bridge of our nose, because
once again, that's one of the high points, so it would get tanned quicker than anything
else, and I kind of drag it down, and then also on our chin, because that is another
high point.
Okay, once you feel like your face is bronzed up enough, we're actually going to go in with
blush, and not only is the placement of blush so important, but I genuinely believe that
the color of blush you choose here is crucial.
I genuinely believe everybody should be using a red-toned blush.
I'm obsessed with red-toned blushes right now, but red also adds so much depth to your
face, so I'm going to be using the Tower 28 Beach Please in Finest Hour.
It is a bright red, but red is already ... I mean, that's what happens when your skin gets
burned.
That's what happens when it gets sun-kissed, so it just makes the most sense to use a color
that had a lot of depth to it.
Fun fact, the makeup artist at Victoria's Secret actually used to go in with red-toned
blushes to give off that super pretty doll pink, and everyone kept thinking that she
was using pink on all of her models, but she actually said she was using red because it
has more depth to it, and it's more natural and more flushed, and kind of just does what
our face would naturally do, so it gives this very youthful glow.
I'm just going to go right here on my cheek, kind of the high point, and really focus it,
but I'm also dragging it up over my nose, and a little goes a really long way with this
blush, so I'm just trying to be really precise with where I put it, and then I am also going
to be putting it on my forehead, because your forehead would also get a little red, you
know?
This is trying to be realistic here, and I also think it's cute, and I also think it
just blends everything really seamlessly together, as well as on her chin, I'm just going to
drag it.
I want to make sure that nothing is poking out too far.
I will say I'm a little crazy with blush, so do what your heart desires, but I'm probably
going to put more blush than the normal person would, but blush also seems to disappear pretty
fast off of everyone's face, so I definitely just like to go in a little heavier than I
normally would.
I love being glowy, but I obviously don't want to look sweaty, so I'm going in with
a little bit of powder.
This is the medium powder from Charlotte Tilbury, and a little puff pad, and I kind of just
go right under my eyes, and as well as my nose, I'm just kind of setting that T-zoned
area, because I find that that is what gets shiniest the fastest on me.
This is the perfect powder to bring in your purse at all times, I love it, and then I'm
just going to lock everything in with setting spray.
This is once again the Charlotte Tilbury setting spray, and then while my setting spray is
setting, I am going to go and do my eyebrows.
This is just the Benefit 24-hour brow setter.
I love the brush of this, it's just so perfect for getting my brows to do exactly what I
want them to do.
I'm pretty simple with my brows, I actually just brush them up and put a little bit of
gel, but you can always fill in your brows or do them kind of, you know, how you like.
Just to finish up my eyes, I know I already did the bronzer on my eyelids as eyeshadow,
but going in with some mascara, this is the Tartelette tubing mascara.
It's just in the shade black.
It is so amazing, I love the consistency of it, but also, I love tubing mascaras.
I find them super easy to take off, which is honestly like part of my issue with mascaras.
I need something that is beautiful on, but also is super easy to take off, so I love
a good tubing mascara.
I love bringing as much emphasis to my eyes as possible, so I do also do my bottom lashes.
For my lips, I keep it pretty simple.
This is the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheap.
This is in Hollywood Honey.
I do this very, very lightly.
I trace it so, so light, and then I use my finger to kind of just smudge it out.
I don't really want too harsh of a line, just like a little bit more color, and I think
it's really pretty.
I also love a blurred lip line, I don't like anything too crazy harsh, so I love blurring
out my lip liners.
Finishing it off with just a lip balm of your choice.
I love the Summer Fridays one.
This is their Birthday Cake.
Oh, it's my favorite.
It has a little bit of a shimmer to it, and I just think it's so pretty.
And then honestly, I just take a look at my face, and I'm like, does it need anything?
And I feel like if anything, I could use maybe just a little bit more powder, because I do
think that my setting spray kind of brought a lot of that shine back.
I love a good shine, but I also don't want to look greasy, so I'm just going to take
a little bit on a brush this time, and really just pat that in very, very gently.
And then, take my hair out, and you guys, that is the final look.
That is everything that I do for this sun-kissed makeup, and I really think that the bronzer
and the blush is just the absolute key to this entire routine.
I feel like the placement is just so spot on, and the more pigment that you give your
blush, I think that the more summer sun-kissed it looks.
So yeah, this is my final routine.
I'm obsessed with it.
I love it so much, but let me know what you guys think down below, and if you guys have
any questions.
But yeah, this is the routine, and I hope that you enjoy.
And thank you so much, Revolve, for having me, and I hope to see you guys again soon.
Bye!
