I am taking it slow this summer so I am not uploading a video as often as I normally do. I am enjoying the relaxed summer vibe even though this is a very busy season for us because both our cabin and cottage are fully booked throughout the summer months. In this video I am sharing snippets of my past weeks. Thanks so much for being here and supporting the channel! Sending so much love, Marloes

Bonjour. Welcome back to a new video. I
am taking it a little slower this
summer. So, I'm taking a little break
from filming every now and then. And
whenever I feel inspired, I do film. And
I was going through the footage. I could
tell from all the footage that I shot
that the roses have grown so much since,
for example, when I filmed a couple of
weeks ago when I was pruning them. I
planted these in the spring with my mom.
And I'm honestly so happy with how they
turned out. And just seeing them bloom
and seeing how the garden is turning
into the thing that I had in my mind
makes me so happy. But it also makes me
realize that summer is really flying by.
And I think I say this every single
summer.
It is a busy season for us. We have
guests in the cottage and the cabin. And
this week is a really nice week. We have
wonderful guests in the cabin. And I
make breakfast and dinner for them every
day. And I really enjoy doing that
because it also challenges me to get
creative and come up with new dishes
which I find incredibly inspiring. At
the moment I am actually working on a
second book as you may know on new
French country interiors but I have to
be completely honest I am also making a
second cookbook. I'm just overflowing
with inspiration. And whenever I create
something just from what I find in my
garden, what I find at the market, I
write it down. And a second cookbook is
kind of writing itself at the moment.
And so this summer, I'm enjoying taking
care of our guests. We are having warm
days. Sometimes you get a little bit of
rain, which is really good for the
garden. And all in all, life is just
really good. It's nice and quiet, but
also having a lot of guests on our
property also brings this really happy
little buzz. Meeting people from all
over the world, which makes me really
happy. So, yeah. How are you all doing?
How is your summer going or winter if
you're on the other side of the planet?
Okay, so my husband was filming that. He
can never be serious. The other thing
that tells me that we are really in the
middle of summer is the parking. I don't
know if you see all these weeds. We have
done everything we needed to do to
prevent getting them. And it's horrible.
So, we are still trying to make this
look nice. I come here every evening
just to enjoy the view and enjoy the
quiet. I just keep falling in love with
the beautiful area that we live in, the
beautiful view that we have from our
home. And I pinch myself every single
day that this is where we live now.
Our
life here in the French countryside is
really slow and really quiet. I was in
the Netherlands last week and sometimes
I miss the liveless and the high energy
of the Netherlands. But then every time
I return back home, I feel that this
peacefulness and the stillness
is actually what brings me back to
myself.
I can always leave this place and look
for inspiration. And I travel a lot for
all the home tours that I film and for
other projects.
And every time I come back here, I just
feel no other place makes me feel more
connected to who I truly am. Makes me
feel more content and at peace. So I am
just incredibly grateful for this life.
It's repetitive and maybe even a little
boring sometimes. I am learning to just
be more present in the moment and it is
very nourishing for my soul. So, I'm
just going to end the video here with a
couple of these last shots of the boring
stillness of our home. And I hope you've
enjoyed this video. And I'll be back
with a new video very soon.
