hello everyone my name is Jacob and I'm
a biohazard cleaner and our client we
are servicing today is a bit of a
collector some may say this person has
collected over 500 gallons of his own
urine and has stored it inside his house
me and my team here have been tasked
with the lovely opportunity of getting
rid of and discarding of all this urine
and trying to get this property back to
its original condition as best we
possibly can if you take a look with me
here through the master bedroom you're
going to see where he slept and kept a
lot of his urine jugs as well
once the bed got totally full of urine
jugs he moved on to sleeping in other
parts of the house and if you look
behind me here we have a whole row of
urine jugs in the hallway trying to not
step on these things while cleaning up
this project was very very challenging
this part of the house was the main
dining area but it got completely
hoarded out with stuff and it goes way
above my chest so we got a pretty deep
and high pile to deal with here now
stepping into the kitchen here you'll
notice that it's not nearly as bad as
the rest of the house it's still going
to require good amount of deep cleaning
but that should be the easiest part of
the whole house and I know you guys are
probably dying to hear how this property
even got this bad in the first place and
I promise you I'm getting to that I'll
be sharing bits behind the psychology of
situations like this throughout the
video so make sure to stay tuned for
that so now that we are stepping into
the living room here I want to show you
guys what we got going on as you can see
there are a couple of gallons of urine
on the floor here so as I'm recording
and moving through this maze here I got
to be really careful with how I'm
stepping cuz it's not going to be a very
fun time if I step on one of those
things and over here here is the desk
where the client did his business from
I'm not sure what he did for work and
then over here if I just look over my
left shoulder to the south side of the
house like I I can't even get over there
like I thought about jumping over this
recliner you know and getting some
footage there but I figure that might be
a bit dangerous and create a tripping
Hazard so I didn't where I'm standing
here is the south side of the unit just
so you guys can know what it looks like
but before I get working on that I'm
going to do the north side first so
projects like these are obviously a bit
challenging to say the least and very
over in and like anything you really
just got to take it one step at a time
so here I am just like literally
squatting and lunging on any place I can
stand uh just to start getting this top
layer of trash and start digging me a
little bit of a hole to create some
space and work a bit faster now I know
what you're thinking and it's like how
could someone possibly live like this
how does someone even begin to start
collecting hundreds and hundreds of
gallons of their own urine and to really
begin diving into that can of worms we
should first talk about what a cognitive
distortion is cuz that give you a lot of
context onto the mind of a hoarder and
how these things come into existence in
the first place so cognitive distortions
in a nutshell is essentially just
irrational behavior and these behaviors
do have roots in biology Evolution uh
early life experience social cultural
influences um a lot of things can
influence these types of behaviors but
what I really want you to remember as
you watch the rest of this video is that
these cognitive distortions you know
this irrational behavior is typically a
defense Ive mechanism from a trauma
response so please keep that in mind as
you watch this video and not to judge
the person CU we don't know what was
going on internally in this person's
life so an example of a cognitive
distortion that a lot of people have
that most people can relate to is
catastrophizing or expecting the worst
case scenario that has roots in our
biology and evolution because our
ancestors needed to survive and if you
expect the worst case scenario then
you'll be prepared for the worst case
scenario you can probably start piecing
together how that type of thinking when
gone over the edge leads to hoarding
type behaviors so the whole
catastrophizing what if I need this one
day type of thinking is one cognitive
distortion another one is emotional
reasoning we all have an emotional
connection to our stuff to some degree
some people may feel that stronger than
others but when your brain starts to
associate waste with memories or
emotions it can create a reluctance to
let go of their stuff the thought there
is throwing this away feels like losing
a part of myself which is kind of true
also as you're watching this you may
notice I'm wearing a completely
different hazmat suit for this part of
the project and that's just cuz I'm
trying to experiment with this uh this
paper type system it basically will
inflow you know fresh clean air um into
the the headpiece I'm wearing you can
see the thing I got on my back with the
the tubing on the side it's kind of
heavy and it's really annoying um for a
lot of people I kind of like it just cuz
I I enjoy the fresh air it feels more
roomy with those other respirators
sometimes it'll just like get really
annoying on my face and give me a
headache and I sweat a lot in it whereas
this one I don't feel like I'm sweating
as much it's still super hot not going
to lie it's it's still a miserable
experience um but I know I just feel
like I enjoy it a bit more so as I was
saying before about the cognitive
distortions you know we have the
catastrophizing we have the emotional
reasoning uh another big one that a lot
of you guys can probably relate to is
the All or Nothing thinking and dude
honestly that one kind of I relate to
lot personally just because it it's the
whole idea of like viewing cleansiness
or organization as unattainable right
it's like if I can't keep everything
perfect why bother cleaning it all you
know obviously not a good head space to
be in and you should challenge that
thought as much as you possibly can but
that's something that really leads a lot
of people down this Rabbit Hole of never
being able to clean up after themselves
and get anything done in the house cuz
it has to be perfect that's why OCD is
such a common mental health issue among
this demographic so we have these
cognitive distortions but what is
pushing these people over the edge to
get it to like the nth degree right like
we are collecting human waste tons of
trash that doesn't just happen overnight
like what's going on here and for that
we really have a mixture of life
experiences and then psychological and
neurological factors let's talk about
life experience so number one obviously
trauma and loss trauma can make your
brain do the most wildest of stuff so
experence experiencing significant loss
like the death of a loved one Financial
ruin whatever it is it can lead to
holding on to objects or human waste as
a form of control or comfort in an
unpredictable world right another one is
poverty and scarcity right growing up
conditions of like severe deprivation
can instill a fear of waste and a
compulsion to save everything even
including trash we Al we also have
neglect and abuse that's a big one for
situations like this a lack of proper
caregiving and exposing the kids to
filth and trash early on could honestly
just normalize environments like this
like you have entire generations of
Hoarders who live in squalor where the
kids grow up and that's just all they've
ever like known like that's just what
they're used to and they become adults
and they they just continue the cycle
there's also attachment issues right if
you have a lack of secure relationships
early on that could lead to an over
attachment to objects or substances even
including bodily waste as a substitute
for human connection so that's kind of
heartbreaking but anyway as we keep
crushing through this project I am now
getting a move on with the carpet let me
know what you guys think of that first
person point of view footage that you
saw earlier I thought it was kind of
cool with the sound effects uh but let
me know if that's enjoyable to watch and
I'll keep including it in future videos
I'm taking my little box knife here uh
ripping up the carpet and just slicing
through on the back side there's these
little stringy things that keep coming
up when I tear the carpet which is
getting really challenging in to cut off
um but enough time and enough stabbing
at it it'll it'll come through also I
did want to take a moment here and ask
you guys if any of you ever considered
joining a career like this cleaning up
crime scenes and hoarder homes if that's
at all interesting to you uh there are
quite a few positions open at the moment
for the crime scene cleaning companies
that I work with and they're always
looking for really good highquality
talent and so if this is something
you've ever really considered or thought
about doing I'd really encourage you to
apply link on my website it's really
tough work and it can turn your stomach
a good bit so if you think you're ready
for it um go ahead and apply it and we'd
love to get you connected to a good fit
now the last bit of work here was just
to finish up the carpet pad which the
carpet pad can play pretty hard to get
sometimes and just get super stuck to
the floor but I got pretty lucky on this
one and we were able to transform this
living room from this hot mess over to
this which I'm really happy and excited
about um we're making great progress on
this so far and now we have to go and
get a move on on to the dining room oh
but real quick this is the south side of
the house look at that before and after
ooh this one was pretty straightforward
same deal as before we have a horrendous
amount of urine jugs just waiting to
explode at our toes so we really had to
watch out for that as we went in and
since we're on the topic I might as well
showcase our Urinator 3000 which is what
we are calling this piece of Machinery
to dispose of the urine safely and
efficiently this piece of equipment is
typically used under car maintenance
shops um you put it underneath a car
once it's like jacked up uh and it'll
help drain the oil that's what it's
designed to do but whether it's draining
oil or hundreds of gallons of urine same
difference um it worked phenomenally and
you guys are probably wondering like oh
why don't you guys just dump the urine
down the toilet and yes typically we
would do that only if the toilets
actually worked and if the water was
running so if we did that we would just
be overflowing a a toilet that isn't
draining and that could lead to all
sorts of problems so what we did is we
hooked up this piece of Machinery with a
hose kind of like a garden hose sort of
deal and you can watch the fluids drain
all the way down into the septic unit
besides the house and that was how we
did our thing it uses gravity to
actually Force the liquids down and
through the piping here but now that we
got a good chunk of the urine jugs taken
care of we just have this pile of trash
now to clean up and we'll be done with
this dining room so we're going to go
ahead and speed through this and I'll
catch you guys when I'm done shoveling
up all this crap oh but I also did want
to wrap up what I was talking about with
how a situation like this even occurs
right so we talked about cognitive
distortions and how you know if you take
those over the edge it could lead to
stuff like this talked about like life
and cultural stuff you know if you grow
up in a hoarder home or if you
experienced a lot of abuse and Trauma
growing up that can make these type of
associations happen there's also just
plain old neurological factors that
contribute such as obsessive compulsive
personality disorder um that's a big one
we see a lot post-traumatic stress
disorder is a big one uh depression
anxiety is often associated with these
sort of things depression and anxiety
can diminish motivation and create fear
around the whole decision-making process
altogether which leads to a lot of this
accumulated waste we also got executive
dysfunction and that's usually seen in a
lot of ADHD type of people and it
impairs planning organization and
decision- making making it difficult to
to manage this level of waste I've
personally been diagnosed with ADHD and
yeah the whole planning organizing thing
doesn't just happen on its own you
really got to create systems for
yourself that you can really rely on
that even if you're having you know your
moments of executive dysfunction you
have a really solid system that keeps
things in check and looking good and
just like that we are now finished with
the dining room area phenomenal looking
good good we love it but we still have a
lot of work left to do now as we are
stepping into the kitchen we have a
whole host of problems to deal with one
of them being is that we don't have any
place to work and get stuff cleared out
of the way so I've got to go back to my
old strategy again of just like standing
right on top of the pile and just
getting as much cleared out as fast as I
can so I used my surroundings to my
benefit and this chair here that was
just ready to fall apart I used as a way
to actually get a lot of this trash up
and out of the way I was able to sit
down on it and it was pretty comfy not
going to lie 10 out of 10 this hand to
bag method really is not ideal and it's
really boring and annoying and you just
got to get your hands and face all up in
that trash not a very fun time I finally
said f you to the chair cuz it just kept
falling and collapsing on me it was no
longer serving me so got that out of the
way and now I've actually got some
decent leg room to take my shovel and
start ripping this floor up I love
taking out all the trashes like this
especially when it's at the point where
I can really just like load up the
shovel and and bag it out what's kind of
fun about doing these trash outs where
there's been garbage lying dormant for
you know several years at a time is you
kind of get a little hit of nostalgia
when you dig deep enough like for
example when I was digging through this
trash I found the good old Black Ops 3
promotional material from Jack In The
Box when they did that collab that was
freaking wild I loved seeing that I
can't believe it's been about 10 years
since that game came out that's crazy
but dude that was a fun game but anyway
I'm moving on here to the counter stove
top area and and got to take out all of
this material um I would clean it but it
looks like the landlords are just
looking to uh just to rip it out and
start fresh I mean can't really blame
him because of the condition of it I
wouldn't really feel comfortable putting
anyone in that situation to use that
type of appliances but once I got that
finished I went ahead and moved on to
the the table here that was kind of full
of junk um so it it was pretty easy to
just go and scoop that into the trash
bin like I did and once I was able to
clear off a lot of that I went over to
to the kitchen sink and started cleaning
up you know enough straws to kill a
small ecosystem of turtles ecosystem of
turtles I'm not sure what do you call
like a FL a flock of turtles is that
what they're called a bale of turtles
huh who would have thought they're
called a bale of turtles good to know
but yeah now that I'm just about done
with this kitchen this is what we were
at before I started working on it and
this is the after result still looks
kind of rough not going to lie that
flooring is just totally destroyed um
and the oven had to get taken out and
the stove top is totally taken out as
well but making a lot of progress on
this house so far let's move on to the
dungeon now we are stepping into one of
the first major bedrooms in this unit
and this one is kind of nuts because
it's already like blocked off entrance
just from the jugs of urine right here
at the front door so before we can even
like clear the stuff out we got to like
actually drain the urine out of the way
so we can see what we're dealing with I
was able to make a little crevice here
and take out the mattress and you know
lo and behold we got more gallons of
urine to deal with we didn't see these
gallons of urine when we did the initial
estimate cuz it was all hidden
underneath the piles of trash and the
mattress and so this substantially
increases the amount of work we have to
do as far as draining goes and I'm not
going to lie draining the urine out of
these containers is like the number one
bottleneck and actually getting this
project done because we can really only
have one person draining the urine at a
time uh cuz if you have two people
working that Urinator 3000 it's just
going to Splash over each other it's
kind of kind of nutty and realistically
we can only do one jug at a time because
if you try doing two at once you're
going to get a lot of splashback um and
you might actually increase the risk of
dropping one of those buggers like tfold
and I'm not in the the business of
dropping these things anywhere cuz that
just sounds terrible but after spending
like literally all day draining that
thing we were able to get this room like
90% clear and now all we really got to
do is take up the last pieces of debris
here and actually take out the carpet
taking out the carpet at the end of a
long day like this is just not fun at
all cuz I'm already sweating in this
hazmat suit and this carpet is just like
really difficult to to deal with it's
hard to cut it doesn't really come up
super easily um and of course it's it's
pretty filthy so just one of those
cherry on tops we get after a long day
of work but once we finally got all of
this carpet taken up and out of the way
we got the carpet pad dealt with and we
were able to turn this gnarly gnarly
bedroom um into this that's like
completely clear and ready for a new
beginning so now that we are done with
that room let's go ahead and step into
the bathroom here where we have quite a
decent number of urine gallons not
nearly as much as I would expect
considering it's the bathroom but we
still got a good bit of work to do here
now the first step here of course was to
to get rid of all the jugs of urine
which we did that came out no problem
and then I simply just went in um and
grabbed up the rest of the trash
unfortunately a lot of it was really
like stuck down to the floor from the
years of Filth and fluids that kind of
dripped everywhere but we were able to
get that cleaned up no problem at all
and then I went ahead and got working on
the bathtub here that was really just
full of tons and tons of jugs so after
we blasted through that uh we came out
with a very very filthy bathtub that
still needed to be cleaned so we gave
that a quick wipe down and then got
moving on to getting rid of the carpet
in here and dude this carpet was just so
so depressing it didn't want to come up
for the life of me I had to keep
stabbing and cutting away at these
really small minute corners but
eventually that came up and it kind of
left this uh this black meshy kind of
material behind which just was not able
to come up whatsoever so they either
just put carpet on top of it or maybe
they'll go and remove the flooring
outright altogether so here we are now
we have finished the bathroom we're
looking pretty good now uh we have
finished the dining room the kitchen the
living room we've gotten most this house
completed all we have left to do is just
the final bedroom which happens to have
probably the most amount of urine in the
entire house so let's jump into that now
as we get ready to go tackle the master
bedroom I've got several concerns kind
of in the back of my mind as I'm going
through this number one obviously do not
want to see any of these urine jugs EXP
explode around me so I've got to be very
very careful with where I'm walking to
not step on those and have them just you
know urinate all over me and then two we
just have the sheer overwhelming volume
of stuff that needs to get thrown out
managing overwhelm on these projects can
be very very challenging because it just
feels like the job will never get done
no matter how much work we're doing it
just seems like it goes on and on and on
another challenge is just the monotony
of it sometimes literally for an entire
day I'm talking straight 6 to 8 hours
all you do is just empty urine jugs into
this canister and that's your entire
purpose is to unscrew that cap dump your
and try not to spill anywhere I often
wonder to myself how the heck I ended up
in a position where I am in a room with
hundreds of gallons of urine and all I'm
doing is this same task over and over
and over not only that you know as you
can see here the freaking canister is
starting to overfill like it's not
draining all the way and it's just
because some crud can get stuck in those
filters and the thing doesn't drain
properly uh it's really really annoying
so every couple of jugs you got to go in
and clean the filter and make sure it's
draining properly and you got to go and
check the hose and make sure that's
draining out properly into the septic
tank um it's just it's just got some
challenges to it but you know big deal
you kind of got to do what you got to do
now I was a little tired of doing the
urine jugs and I finally got enough
space where I could start working
towards the the right flank of this room
so I started getting a move on in this
area just to change it up and I was able
to make a lot of progress relatively
pretty quick um with that it's always
good to change up what you're doing
every now and then so you don't just you
know hate yourself at the end of the day
what I found when it comes to picking up
trash like this is just you know going
on your knees and using a shovel I don't
know why but I know I feel like my
posture is a lot better if I'm just
standing and bending over to pick up
crud I'm like starting to hurt my back
but I found a way that works pretty
nicely just on my knees maybe it's cuz
I'm 23 and I still got good knees but
while I still have them I'm going to use
them and get this job done easily as you
can see I do have my cool guy glasses on
so this is the firsters perspective you
guys can have on this project this is
what I'm
seeing thankfully we have Bruno Mars to
join us on this project and help us stay
focused and lined up to get this thing
done um but I'm just about finished up
with the right flank of this house and
right next to the bed here so we're
going to be able to take out that
dresser and get back to what we love
doing most now that we got a decent
amount more space cleared out of the way
I went back to the urine game which is
my favorite game right now I just love
taking these jugs out and we created a
bit more of a system so my job is just
to get these jugs out of the room and
then the rest of my team they're
actually going to screw those Lids off
and dump them down the tank in a
different room uh this just helped
consolidate the process so you know we
can actually keep cleaning the room um
and have the urine jugs going at the
same time because there's a bit of a
stop Gap when comes to these things if
you overflow it too much with jugs then
you're going to be waiting for a while
so every now and then I'll stop pick up
the jugs and then keep cleaning and when
they need more jugs of urine I'll stop
what I'm doing and go back to that now
when should you take breaks that can
always depend from person to person for
me I really like getting a good chunk of
the room done first before I go and take
a break because when you go and stop
what you're doing it's really hard to
get back into that flow um and when
you're already sweating and you feel
gross you know you might as well just
get as much done as you possibly can uh
when I take a break you know you want to
take your gloves off you take your mask
off and you just kind of sit and soak in
your sweat for a little bit and nothing
feels worse than putting on a hazmat
suit that is like already really sweaty
and kind of nasty now you could always
just put a brand new suit on you know
and do it that way but those things cost
like 20 $40 sometimes and you know we
got pretty thin mark on some of these
job sites so we got to save that cash
you know what I mean now before I forget
I did want to mention real quick here
that you know if you're watching this
and you know you recognize someone that
you love is living in a somewhat similar
situation uh with clutter with hoarding
whatever it is if it kind of seems like
they're in an unsafe environment um that
you know healing might need to take
place there I want you to know that
healing is possible change is possible
um and that there are phenomenal
resources of available to get you on
that path and to to be in a safer and
better environment every client that I
work with they always get free therapy
just for reaching out um it's four weeks
of free therapy um even if they don't
use their service they still get that
benefit so it's a really helpful tool
for getting the framework of what's
going on in your life and what to do
about a situation like this additionally
if you go on to my website there is an
entire cleaning guide on how to take a
project like this or you know projects
you know less intense than this and it
breaks it up into section by section on
exactly what you need to do uh the
conversations you need to have and the
things to look out for um it's just
based off of my experience from doing
this over the past 5 years and I've
found it to be quite helpful for a lot
of people already so if you need a
little bit of extra help uh to help you
yourself or your loved one get on that
path to Healing I highly recommend
checking that guide out on my website
it's completely free you get the therapy
alongside of it and all of my experience
from doing this type of cleanup work and
the goal of it I is just really just to
help you guys you know I I know how
overwhelming and exhausting it can be uh
to to be in a situation like this and
feel like you're drowning and that you
can't escape like it really sucks so the
point is just to be helpful and I I
really hope it kind of helps some of you
guys out so feel free to check that out
with the link in the description below
but without further Ado I am just so
excited to show you the before and after
this room look at this we had all this
urine all this debris and we turned it
into this wo I love it um this is going
to be one crazy rebuild that I'm so
excited to see on how you know they
bring their Vision to life with it but
yeah that's it thanks for hanging out
with me y'all
