Hello, my name is Maria and welcome back to my channel.
How can you express your opinion?
There are an incredible number of possibilities.
Even in Telk B1 you have to read a text,
have a discussion and express your opinion about the content.
Or think about Telk B2, part 2 of the oral exam.
Not to mention the test.
Today you'll get a lot of tips from me.
And if you want to pass your German exam successfully,
both in writing and in spoken German,
then keep watching.
Best of all, let's take a specific topic again.
Environmental protection.
This is typical for B2.
By the way, I took the B2 exam three months ago
and there was exactly this topic in the second part of the oral exam.
I best formulate it as a question.
Is waste separation still useful today?
This topic can definitely be discussed.
On this topic I feel myself affected.
My neighbors regularly oppose it and do not sort their waste.
I have to get upset every time.
But it doesn't matter.
I'm sure you have an emotional connection to every topic.
Just think about your emotions and then everything will be much easier for you.
We start with very simple idioms
that even beginners in German can use.
And my students often ask me,
Maria, what comes after the comma?
There are two possibilities.
Either you have two main clauses
or a main clause and a subordinate clause with the conjunction that.
For example,
I think you should definitely separate the waste.
Here we have two main clauses
and the verb is therefore in position 2.
In this case we have a main clause
I think
and a subordinate clause
that you should definitely separate the waste.
In the subordinate clause the verb should be at the end.
You know that, right?
I'll give you two more examples.
And now the same with a subordinate clause.
For the A2 and B1 level, such idioms are wonderful.
But if you prepare for your B2 or C1 exam,
then you should vary the idioms.
Show how well you have prepared for the exam
and how broad your vocabulary is.
You basically only have to learn the appropriate idioms
and then you already have a skeleton for your discussion
and only have to fill it in with suitable content afterwards.
Here's another tip for you.
The discussion part takes about 2.5 to 3 minutes for most German exams.
So you shouldn't overdo it unnecessarily
if you don't have much time to prepare for the exam.
And these three minutes of the exam go by very quickly.
I'll give you extra material so you can choose the idioms
that you like and learn them too.
In the course of the discussion,
you may be able to name three to four arguments.
You should consider that your interlocutor
will also say his opinion.
So you don't have to learn everything by heart.
Three to four arguments are enough for the oral exam.
When writing, you will probably need a little more.
But if you learn five to six different arguments,
then you are definitely on the safe side.
Do you actually like to take notes?
Great!
Then let's move on.
The next topic is
For example
These three idioms
Most often you use
You can easily replace it with
so that you don't repeat yourself all the time.
According to my opinion sounds very written to me.
I would rather use it when writing.
I am of the opinion that
I am of the opinion that it is not so difficult to separate the trash.
I beg you.
I am of the opinion that
I am of the opinion that everyone could contribute something.
I am of the opinion that
I am of the opinion that the dangers of environmental pollution
are clearly underestimated.
If you want your opinion to sound very personal,
then you can say the following
Or you can say
I have the feeling that
I have the feeling that I am the only one in the house who separates the trash.
Let's move on to the next idiom.
From my point of view
From my point of view, you could raise the bus fare quietly.
For me it is clear that
For me it is clear that I will continue to separate the trash.
And I will teach it to my children.
I assume that
I assume that we need more good role models in this area.
I am convinced that
I am convinced that we should stick together to solve this problem.
If you are even more certain, then you can say
I am firmly convinced that
I am firmly convinced that more and more people will separate the trash
when higher fines are raised.
That's how it always is.
I am firmly convinced that
I am firmly convinced that the state should launch a nationwide campaign for a clean environment.
My point of view is the following
I have not separated the trash in my home country
and I will not waste my time with it in Germany either.
I represent the following point of view
You should already explain to the children in kindergarten how important it is to separate the trash.
I am at the point of view that
I am at the point of view that families play a really big role here.
I represent the point of view that
I represent the point of view that parents should pay more attention to their own behavior.
I represent the view that
I represent the view that a school project on environmental protection would be a good idea.
You can assume that
You can assume that many children will participate.
And they will have fun.
It is to assume that
It is to assume that some people are simply not motivated.
As far as I can judge
the situation in other countries is much worse than in Germany.
In relation to
I would say that
In relation to the waste separation, I would say that in this area
there is still a lack of efficient control measures.
In my opinion
In my opinion, much too little is thought about the future in today's time.
This means of speech also fits more to the written language and sounds very elevated to me.
I hope that you can now express your opinion in a very sophisticated way,
both verbally and in writing.
Have you also chosen a few expressions that you find particularly suitable?
And do you actually think the waste separation makes sense at all?
Is the waste separated in your home country?

I think...
No, I am firmly convinced that I have said everything.
