And so the final competitor in the women's short program,
the bronze medalist from last year, winner of the Four Continents Championships a couple of weeks ago
in Seoul, Korea. From Seoul, Korea, this is Jae Young Kim.
Quite get that right. Quite enough speed, I don't think. Triple toe.
We saw her struggle with that combination on the warm-up.
It's amazing, isn't it? What pressure can do to you.
Remnants get in your brain and that element of doubt.
The technical panel are looking at that combination as we speak.
I'm going to review that last spin as well.
Disappointment today. Chae Yeon is so dedicated to her craft. She mentioned in an interview that
she watched Tron 10 times to prepare herself to perform this program.
Yeah, so they've given that an under rotation, the triple toe, which is dead right too.
And she gets the fall as well. So it's what, going to be three and a half, four points
when you add the fall in as well that she's going to lose there.
Yeah, cleanly done. She usually gets around 11.5 points.
Today, she's getting around 6.4.
I do feel she didn't skate the program with the usual
sharpness, did she? There was something missing.
And I wonder, she's skating last at the World Championship. She probably has some
semblance of an idea of what's going on around her. And I wonder if that might have affected
her today. Yeah, quite possibly.
It is, as I mentioned, extremely uncharacteristic for her to make a mistake, especially in the short.
Okay, well it's good news for Alyssa Liu, that's for sure, because this score is not going to
contest that. The technical panel have done their job. They've given the fours, level fours on all
the spins and the step sequence, which is going to help her. Oh, the last spin, level three, that
payback spin. So where will they have her? It's not going to be what she was looking for.
Oh, it's tough, isn't it? When they keep you waiting like this.
So she's going to get 65.67, and that's in 11th place, in behind Kimi Rippon.
