So on the ice now, huge roar for him and rightly so.
We wish him all the success in the world.
Representing Ukraine, the Ukrainian national champion competing in the world for the second time,
Kirill Marsak.
Hell yeah!
It was a great effort on the court.
Almost ran out of room there.
Beautiful triple axel.
Just got that all wrong, didn't he?
Seemed to pull the left shoulder back a little bit too far.
Down on the triple lutz.
It was of course supposed to be his combination.
Yeah, that's a huge error.
Oh, what a shame. It started off so well, even with the mistake on the attempt to the quad salchow.
He made the rotation on it but couldn't control the landing.
And I've got to be honest, we've talked a little bit about the different size of the ice surface here.
It is very narrow compared to what the European skaters are used to skating on.
And I think it may have taken him a little bit by surprise on the salchow.
But it was a great effort. Beautiful triple axel in the program.
But that mistake on the combo is going to be a killer, isn't it?
And likely his easiest jump in the program too.
I'm sure he's kicking himself.
But he landed the quad salchow for the first time in competition at the Road to 26 competition just last month.
So it's obviously a new element for him.
It was a good attempt.
Here it is.
Free leg a little bit crazy coming out.
Doesn't have a huge running edge there.
Look at this triple axel though. Great height.
Nice element for him.
Triple Lutz.
Meant to be a triple toe on the end of it.
So far to the back of the blade.
He will have lost 6 to 7 points on that element.
So that will be a big hit to his total score today.
He was a rather late addition to the World Championships.
Originally was not named.
Was just named to this event a couple weeks ago.
Looks pretty good in practice.
Just not his day today.
Yeah, it is difficult when you get the call pretty late.
So where will they have him?
It's 64.37.
It is second place.
But I can't imagine that that score will be high enough to make the cut.
