Hello my friends, how are you? So I wanted to share something interesting with you
and that is I'm on a WhatsApp group with some philosophers and scientists who are constantly
engaging in dialogue about the nature of fundamental reality, some of them including
Nobel laureates and I'm fascinated by how sincere they are in their explorations and how
scholarly they are and that's not only just the scientists but also the philosophers
and they seem to have read everything both in the scientific world but also
very astute in their philosophical scholarship and insights and I feel like a bit of an amateur
in their company because I'm not, you know, an academic myself. My insights on whatever I do,
quantum body etc come from my meditation practices which I'm very serious about.
I spend two three hours of meditation minimum every day and every night I meditate on the
mystery of death including my own. So I'm going to summarize where I am today in my understanding of
fundamental reality and I'm going to summarize this. I made some notes for you and I'd love
your feedback. Okay, so these are bullet points. Fundamental reality or existence is formless.
Existence. One thing we know is there is existence. So that which we call existence is formless.
Two. It has no borders. Three. It is infinite.
Four. It is the immeasurable potential of all that was, all that is and all that will be.
Five. It is absolute, irreducible, shapeless, timeless, unchanging, unimaginable, incomprehensible.
Six. It appears as every changing form and phenomena.
Seven. All forms are actually phenomena. The phenomena are in turn constantly changing
fluctuations of the formless absolute. Eight. I'm losing count. The absolute is changeless.
Nine. The relative, that means that which emerges from the absolute, the relative
fluctuations of the absolute is ever-changing. The absolute is of the nature of consciousness
or awareness. Ten. The absolute is self-aware. Eleven. Its fluctuations are in the nature of
species-specific experience. Twelve. The species themselves are diverse forms or fluctuations of
awareness. Thirteen. The evolving universe is the changing appearance of absolute awareness,
which is of course the appearance is species-specific. As humans with a narrow band of
perceptual activity, now expanding that range with scientific instruments, we experience only a sliver of reality.
Fourteen. Anything perceivable or conceivable is ultimately not real because it is transient,
ephemeral and momentary. Fifteen. The cause or reason for existence is a mystery beyond human comprehension.
Sixteen. At the source we are the mystery we are seeking to explore.
Seventeen. The scientists and philosophers across time have had legitimate points of reality or their
understanding of reality, but also limited perspectives based on their backgrounds and training.
Seventeen. This is equally true of all of us, including me.
Eighteen. Matter is a name we give to a narrow band of human perceptual activity.
Nineteen. No one has experienced a substance called matter.
Twenty. We experience qualia, qualities of experience, in the form of human
sensations, sense perceptions, images, feelings and thoughts.
Twenty-one. Notwithstanding that, we are a mysterious species. We humans are a mysterious
species on a speck of dust in the junkyard of infinity. The junkyard, of course, was created
by us, by humans right now, with all these satellites and stuff floating around there.
There are two trillion galaxies, 760 million stars,
uncountable, probably trillions of habitable planets based on the Goldilocks zone.
We, this human species of this speck of dust in the junkyard of
infinity, have created mind-blowing technology that will ultimately lead to our extinction.
Because see what's happening everywhere now. Gaza, Israel, Ukraine, Russia, Sudan, you name it.
Modern capacities with still medieval minds.
Twenty-two. Twenty-three. There's much more to say, but I will stop here.
With gratitude and humility, this is Deepak. I just sent this note to my email, or not email.
Yeah, email and WhatsApp group with famous scientists and philosophers. Would love your
feedback.
