Hello friends. Today we'll open the Asus
ROGstrix G 182025.
As always, you'll find everything about
the laptop in our detailed text review
on laptopmedia.com.
From benchmark performance tests to
screen quality, battery life, and much
more. The link is below the video. Let's
go. The laptop has a rear cover with a Q
latch mechanism and two status markers.
The first marker is here. Red means
unlocked.
To remove the cover, pull the slider,
then push it to the right,
and the red color should appear in this
window as well.
Done.
The chassis includes a safety switch
hidden here that prevents the laptop
from powering on while the bottom panel
is off. Here's a slow motion close-up of
the process.
The inner shielding cover holds 19
screws. We'll point them out one by one
before taking it off.
We start with the first screw at the top
left corner. It and the one in the
opposite corner are shorter. M2 5.5 mm.
The remaining 17 screws are 10 mm. We
use a Japanese industrial standard
number one screwdriver.
Here
is the second short screw.
Once again, here are the two short
screws
alongside the other 17.
After removing all screws, our first
task is to disconnect the ribbon cable
that links this cover to the
motherboard. ASUS recommends discharging
the battery below 25% before opening the
device. And we'll remove the battery as
well.
With a thin plastic tool, we start
popping the cover clips.
Done. The battery connector sits beneath
the third fan.
The third screw is shared by the fan
shroud and the cover.
We need to remove the other two screws
to take out the fan.
The battery is secured by four screws.
That shared third screw is both for the
battery and for the cover.
Let's remove the fan screws.
We disconnect the fan from the
motherboard. Never pull by the wires.
We lift the battery connector straight
up, tugging slightly sideways so the red
wires break contact first.
We remove the remaining three screws
holding the battery to the chassis.
First one.
Second one.
This shared screw secures both battery
and cover.
And finally, the fourth. The battery is
a 90Wh lithium ion unit. You can check
the result of our battery life test on
laptopmedia.com.
The link is below the video. Don't
forget to visit and see our top 100
laptops with the best battery life
ranking.
Here's how the Asus Ragstrix G182025
looks on the inside
and a 360° view.
All exhaust vents now sit behind the
hinge while the sides, bottom, and even
keyboard deck pull fresh air into the
trian vapor chamber system using conduct
extreme liquid metal on CPU and GPU.
We peel back the SSD's protective
sticker.
Instead of a screw, there's a locking
tab.
We lift the drive to about 15° and pull
it from the slot.
The thermal pad stayed underneath.
There are two PCI Express 4 NVME slots.
Here are both RAM slots. They are DDR5SO
DIM and support up to 64 GB officially
and 96 GB or more with higher density
sticks.
Here
is the Wi-Fi card. It's a Wi-Fi 7 2x2
module for multi- gigabit wireless
speeds.
It can be removed by undoing this screw,
but we'll leave it in place.
Here's
a bonus for you. Some RGB beauty.
