Hello! Come on up!
Alright, hey, what's up guys? I am Matt from Dance Cabin Dance.
I'm Andrew.
Thanks for coming up here and joining us right now.
We're currently out on the Return of the Robot Tour, our headliner.
We're out here with the band Home Team, Belmont, and Dwellings.
We're in Chicago today, just chilling, and we wanted to show you guys our rig.
Let's check it out.
So, we should mention that this bus is literally brand new, not only to us,
but just a brand new bus in general.
Just literally rolled out of the factory like two days ago.
So, we just got moved in.
So, it's a little cleaner than normal.
I think the older we get, the cleaner and more organized we are.
But typically, it's not this pristine.
But it's still a good time to show you guys.
Yeah, yeah.
We got the two TVs in the front lounge here.
Typically.
We got little movie nights.
We got our sports.
I know a lot of guys do the NBA, March Madness.
Yeah, and we don't really game too much up here.
We do that in the back lounge, which we'll get to.
But mostly, yeah, I'd say movies in general.
We've kind of been into watching live concerts lately.
Yeah, Will's a huge movie buff.
So, if Will's got the remote, it's movie night every night.
Yep, and he picks a bunch of weird ---- for us to watch.
Yeah, some obscure bullshit.
My favorite feature of this bus, and it does have a slide out.
So, normally, there is a little more room, but we couldn't put it out today.
But check these out.
It's got these sweet, Lazy Boy style recliners here.
You can just get right through.
Hang out.
Oh, yeah, plenty of space here.
I'm not like a dickhead for just chilling like this.
So, these are all personal cabinets.
They're in little touch-and-go's.
We just moved in, like Matt said, so we're still migrating some stuff over.
This one's my little guy.
I've got my supplements.
I've got my little Hemby, my Rad 140, some creatine, some pre-workout,
and, you know, some extra socks when you've got a rainy day coming up.
You've got to have those socks.
One cool feature about these cabinets that we had in our last bus, too,
which was also new, is when the bus is in motion, they automatically lock.
So, they're not, like, swinging open and stuff falling out.
Like, a lot of buses have that issue.
So, it's definitely, it sounds like something pointless,
but it really, on the road, it comes in handy.
Especially with the other storage, which is down here.
We've got these puppies.
This is John's nice, clean.
What are these?
Oh.
John's got three pairs of, whoa, some party glasses.
All right, we're going to put John's cabinet away.
Here, we'll open mine.
Oh, we've got some cozy slippers in here.
We've got a Nintendo Switch controller.
I've been really into filming stuff and making really silly videos lately,
so we've got the GoPro.
But, yeah, typically, we'll throw, me personally, I'll throw in, you know,
a couple pairs of underwear, shirts, you know,
so I don't have to go in and out of my suitcase in the bus space on a daily basis.
Yeah, we've got our table.
Sometimes our TM will set up here, do a little bit of work.
Most of the time, like if we order food on a day off,
this is kind of our dining room area.
We have a separate bus for our crew, so they've got their own digs.
They've got their own layout on that other bus.
This one makes it nice and spacious.
This one's just us and the TM.
Yeah, yeah, I'd say, yeah, mainly, like you mentioned,
usually we just eat, you know, when we get our food, use the table to eat.
Similar to the cabinets, it can get a little bumpy on these rides,
so you've got to have a remote on the leash.
Yeah.
It's crucial.
Remote on the leash.
Yeah, also, Will's prone to lose remotes, so I feel like this is a benefit.
Well, and in his defense, I feel like even just at my own house, I need one of those.
I don't know how often my wife and I are going back and forth.
Have you seen the remote?
Yeah, we've got good charging stations.
We've got our little kitchen area over here.
Normally, we'll throw some ice in this and throw some drinks, some cold drinks,
make a nice little drink station.
Some more cabinetry up here.
We'll keep, like, it's, again, pretty barren.
We just moved in, but this will start stocking up over the course of the tour
with utensils, plates and protein, some shakers and snacks.
Keep our Tide Pods for a quick snack on the go.
I do want to note this beautiful backsplash that they have here.
Very nice.
John and I use this religiously.
This is our little tea kettle, water warm-up, filter water, our throat coat,
some kombucha, some various utensils.
We've got the banned bread.
We just live off of banned bread now.
You've got your little trash bin in here, so it doesn't get too stinky.
Let's check out the fridge.
There's a couple things in here already.
Not too crazy.
Red Bulls.
Lately, me and Will specifically are really into these teas.
And then pickles, of course.
Got to have your pickles.
We get a large assortment of items on our rider on a daily basis on every show.
We get assorted chips, pickles, as I showed you, assorted meats, cheeses.
We've been getting charcuterie boards.
We get tea, as you can see, for John.
A lot of drinks. I feel like that's our go-to.
We're all sober. None of us drink, so it's mostly Red Bulls, energy drinks, teas.
Oh, protein shakes.
Protein shakes, a lot of Gatorade, a lot of sparkling waters, some soda.
Yeah, nothing too crazy.
I've seen bands get rotisserie chicken and all this stuff.
We did do a tour where we got rotisserie chicken, and it got out of hand.
Yeah, it gets out of hand, and it's just messy, and then it ends up getting wasted.
Yeah, you get a chicken a day, it fills the fridge up.
Just carcasses everywhere.
I feel like the crew takes a lot of the rider most days.
We'll do the rider stuff. We'll bring it on the bus.
We'll have a consistent bus stock, mainly of teas, and then the rest goes to the crew,
and they just have at it.
Sometimes we'll get this insane, we'll have way too much deli meats,
and we've got to say, hey, can we not get deli meats for a week,
because we're just overflowing with meats.
Cold cuts everywhere.
It's cold cuts coming out of your ears.
Not at the moment.
Oftentimes we'll store, we've got...
Our bass player loves these little crustables.
Oh, Uncrustables.
The Uncrustables. Our bass player's addicted to Uncrustables.
We'll throw them in the freezer, pop one up.
He had one on stage last night.
Yeah, he's hooked.
It's going to be a problem.
Let's do the bathroom.
Everything I should have mentioned on this bus is controlled by these little pads, touchscreens.
The bathroom.
It's like some Star Trek ----.
Open it up.
Got the nice mirror. Pop that on.
Lighting.
No pooping on the bus.
No grinder, but I would say even if it had a grinder, we still...
We err on the side of no twos on the bus.
Yeah, no number twos. No thank you.
No thank you.
One thing, too, that we forgot to show off is the sweet Rolls Royce ceiling.
Right now there's a spider on it.
Yeah, I saw that.
So...
Pretty sick.
We'll let him live.
He's not hurting anyone.
Come on back to the bunk lane.
We've got twelve beautiful bunkies.
Twelve bunks.
So you have the option of doing what are called condo bunks, which would be two per area.
Which we've done before, and you have more room to sit up.
But we actually like the option of having the extra bunks either for...
We can put...
It's just like storage for our bags.
Or we usually keep one, two for guests.
If our wives or friends come out for a couple shows and they've got somewhere comfortable to sleep.
And we still have plenty of room.
Here's my bunk. It's still very untouched and clean.
Got your shelf here.
I've got a shelf.
Oh, I've got a couple gifts from some fans. Some bracelets.
It's like a touch light.
You've got your touch reading light here.
Your fans.
Got to make sure those are open or you're going to have a bad time.
Tempur-Pedic charger.
Charging port in here.
And your Tempur-Pedic mattress.
Very nice.
So yeah, let's definitely talk about bunk selection.
For me, everybody's different.
I was a psycho.
I was as well.
I was aforementioned and used to enjoy the top bunk.
And then as I got older, not like we're super old or anything.
But old enough to now getting in and out of it, it hurts my knees.
And it's just like a hazard.
So I got lucky.
The middle bunks are kind of premium real estate because you can get in and out of them so easily.
Yeah, it's absolutely prime.
For me, I'm 6'5", 250.
So getting on the ground isn't really an option.
And getting up is also very difficult.
So middle is like prime real estate.
Will loves the bottom bunk.
He just loves to just go down, roll in.
Yeah, and I know a lot of people that like the bottom bunk.
They feel safer or they worry about rolling out or something.
I have once or twice in my life had an incident where I fell out of the bunk.
It does happen.
I have fallen out as well.
And I'm pretty sure there was probably alcohol involved.
But those days are done, so I don't really worry about falling out of the bunk.
Seven on the bus in the bunks.
Six band members and then TM.
So at least five empty bunks.
We call them junk bunks.
Like I showed earlier, we can just throw our backpacks in or whatever.
We accumulate throughout the tour.
But yeah, so we're pretty comfy on here.
We've done tours totally full.
We even did a tour.
It was on Warped Tour in 2017.
No, it was the first time we did it.
It was 2011.
And we had two bands on one bus and 14 bunks total.
So a couple rows had four going in.
It was like literal coffins.
So to get from there to now just seven people on a bus, it's pretty cozy and luxurious.
This is a lovely back lounge.
This is where we usually set up our PS5, Steam Deck, Switch, do some gaming.
It's another two TV situation here.
So you can load it up, do multiplayer, cross-platform stuff.
Another drink storage if you want some drinks in the back here.
Load them up with some ice.
Got more band storage all over the place.
Some more remotes.
And the cool thing here is the windows open up as well.
So you can do...
It's all electric.
Let the windows out.
Yeah, we're enjoying the fresh air today.
Oh, one thing I should say too.
On the last tour specifically, and I'm sure a little on this tour,
our back lounge typically, yeah, it's like the gaming hang area,
but it turned into like a full-blown recording studio for the last tour.
This is where they wrote all the vocals and stuff for the new album that's coming out in September.
Yeah, me, John, and Will just sat back here on the Fall Universe Tour and passed a mic around.
Demo and everything.
I set up here with my Apollo and my whole reactor and my laptop,
and we just passed the mic around.
Yeah, we've even talked.
We're like, man, that'd be cool.
One tour to just ditch the furniture in the back lounge
and just have an electronic drum kit and a full-blown studio
and actually write a whole album on the road.
So hopefully we'll get the opportunity to do that.
I feel like lately when we talk about ideas like that,
we actually execute them.
Yeah, it's been a good roll.
Yeah, so when we game, I feel like Will's the biggest gamer, for sure.
He is, absolutely.
By a pretty wide margin.
All systems.
All systems, all types of games.
He's very competitive when he plays, which is fun.
But we've done Smash Bros. back here, Mario Kart,
we did Mario Party a couple times, very fun.
Mario Party's been a lot of fun.
That's mine and Matt's jam.
Yeah, we love that.
I love those types of games, collaborative games.
Will bought Forza.
Oh, yeah.
With the full steering system.
For the PS5, full-on steering system, pedals and everything.
We've hooked it up in a couple green rooms,
but it's definitely getting hooked up back here.
Yeah, 100%.
And we're all really shitty at it, but it's hella fun.
Yeah, it is super fun.
I'm usually a Steam Deck guy, so I'll play...
Will introduced me to this game called RimWorld.
It's really cool.
It's kind of like a strategy builder.
Yeah, we definitely need to play more on this tour.
Yeah, and I'm personally just a Switch guy.
I love Nintendo Switch.
All the Marios, all the classic games.
I've been playing a lot of the remasters.
I just beat all six Tomb Raiders that came out.
And then I've been playing a lot of 2K21 PGA, golfing.
So, yeah, I don't play a lot of really cool games.
But looking forward to the Switch 2.
We might swoop one up on this tour
so we can play the new Mario Kart and stuff.
All right, guys.
Well, thank you for checking out our tour bus.
Very stoked to have you.
You can check us out at DanceGavinDance.com
for future tour dates.
We have a new album called Pantheon coming out this fall.
Very stoked.
And we gotta go get ready for the show.
We do.
So, sorry.
Y'all gotta go.
Later.
Peace.
