Hello everyone. It's Janette here,
enthusiastic gardener. And I am
delighted this week because we have a
tour from the wonderful Richard, which
you've all said last week, you can't
wait to see. I can't wait to see what he
says as well. I have no idea. It's
totally adlibd. And let's go over to
Richard.
>> Good morning or is it good evening?
Depends where you you are. Uh, today I'm
doing a garden tour. I don't know what
I'm going to talk about, but
let's start at the beginning.
Now,
this is I think she called it shady
corner. Shady corner. It's not actually
a corner, but anyway, it's the
the yellow chair corner. And as you can
see, it's very
shady.
But her fern
uh let me see see if I can remember the
name. It's the
something forest fern. Cloud. Ah. No.
No. It's a Tasmanian.
Tasmanian
tree fern. Yes. Something like that.
Cloud fern.
And I I must say when I first saw it, I
wasn't that impressed with a bunch of
sticks, but
it has blossomed. It has grown.
And uh yeah, that's the main feature of
that corner. That's the main feature.
There it is. And there's all ferns along
here. And there's all box plants. So the
box I don't know about box plants. I
know Janette said she wasn't going to
plant any more box plants because of the
box moth I think it was called. So and
that's it. And the yellow chair which I
never ever sit in.
So we will continue. Oh, wa.
Anyway, we we will continue clockwise.
Now, there's some new plants here. Don't
ask me what they are, but
that looks a new one.
The yellow, the yellow, green, and
pinky.
Um,
yeah. I mean, Janette has been moving
plants from one place to another, which
she normally does.
So, um, we will continue. It's getting
windy and cold.
This is
This is a tree.
I think it's a pear tree. No. Um,
it's a tree. No. Come on. Let's carry
on.
Right now, this is looking nice and
mature. This one
prickly prickly leaves
that has
shut up in the past couple of weeks.
I never knew it it was that big.
But that's nice. Yes. might need a
little trim back
now to one of the obisks
which has probably been moved from
somewhere else. So don't I don't
recognize it being there.
Continue around.
Ah
carpass for Chunai.
This is my favorite plant and uh it it
has done very well in the garden. Yeah,
it's really taken to it. And as for the
I don't know what that is over there,
but it looks like something out of the
Adams family.
Continue around. Let's begin.
A nice red plant.
That's not a Japanese one. The Japanese
red something is over there. So, um Oh,
hookas. Oh yes, I I do remember who.
Yes. So, let's continue. It's going to
be a quick one.
As we continue
another oblisks
went through a phase of a mine oblisks.
She still has to straighten that one up.
I've mentioned it more than once.
Um,
and that's a little water feature as you
know.
Another chair. Now, see the thing with
chairs.
Janet says, "Oh, oh, I really want a
chair there. I really want a chair. It's
so I can sit there in peace." Well, as
you can see, that one hasn't been sat on
for quite a while, but she needed it.
I I made it, painted it, but she needed
that chair at the time. So I thought,
bless her. Bless her.
Oh, obviously I walked past
the
garden set
which is going to get revamped this
year. Now that chair there, this is one
of my favorite chairs.
Ah, I can sit here,
see the garden,
and just relax.
So, this is one of my favorite chairs.
I've got two I've got two places I sit.
That is one of them.
The other one will be coming up now.
More plants. Yes. Oh, the cherry. the
cherry tree which has got cherries
somewhere. Oh yes, there they are.
Yeah, we we put the netting on which the
birds were nicking them. So, um,
this
pair of
more plants
that was an an alien. An alien an alien.
I call them aliens.
So, um,
let's So, let's continue around.
ah the main water feature
which I must say
I do like
after a bit of persuasion. So um
yes, it's feeding well and
the plant along the front enhances it.
So I I'm well pleased with it. down.
And this is my favorite chair.
I sit here every morning
with a cup of tea and a cigar.
Don't tell Janette. And um it's so
peaceful. I'm normally I'm up about 5:00
every morning. It's just something I
I've always used to get up early and
it's still it's still in my system.
But on my phone, I've got an app. It's
called Merlin Bird ID
and I start the recording and it picks
up all the birds noises and it
identifies which bird is which. And uh
it's it's quite addictive because I mean
on some mornings I've had up to 18
different bird songs going on around
here. So um yes it that is very
enjoyable and relaxing.
So
we will continue. Oh, this is the other
water feature
hole in the ground
which doesn't do much. This is there.
So, round a obviously this is these are
the entrances to the underground system
now. But all them animals hibernating.
Oh my god, they're in and out all day
long. Oh.
Anyway, we continue round. continue the
snail which has just been moved
apparently. So that wasn't there earlier
on.
Now as you can see there's this gap.
Oh my god. What has happened? Has the
plant died?
Has it been stolen? No. Janette has
moved it.
And I think that that was the Japanese
red something
which is over there now.
It wasn't happy there. Wasn't happy
there. So,
it moved to there. And I mean, it's a
big move. I mean, there's quite a few
removal lries, but uh
and yes,
and then we continue around
the clock, which is stuck at 20 5.
Um, and then we're back here. And also,
while I think of it,
we've got a new piece of equipment for
our gym.
The bouncer.
The bouncer.
Janette had to have one. Now, she said
it was very important for her workout
routine. And so what you do is, believe
it or not, you get on.
And you bounce. Yes, you do. You bounce.
I feel like a new man. God, I got to
stop now.
So obviously you've seen the rest of the
the gym equipment
and um that keeps keeps us fit.
So
enough in here.
Now apparently
this is called cocktail corner. I've yet
to have a cocktail here.
I think that's what she called it.
Anyway,
unless you can see this little corner,
this is where
but basically
not a lot happens. Oh,
the red rolls it feature and the mirror.
See the mirror? That's when Janette's
working and she's got to go to the
garage. He stops at the mirror and then
carries on
a greenhouse which is
a greenhouse. So anyway,
I think you've had enough of me today.
So
it's just the end of my garden tour.
There is there is some other names I
remember but I don't know what plants
they are.
So
it's very very relaxing out here and uh
don't tell her I love it out here but I
mean what she's what she's done to the
garden has transformed it. So um
I don't want to say too much. So this is
it. And I mean my job is to maintain the
grass as you can see up. I look after it
very well to feed it, trim it with
scissors.
So anyway, I hope you enjoyed this quick
this quick tour and um thanks for all
your remarks and your
just staying in touch. Thank you. I wish
you well.
[Applause]
Thank you so much to Richard. I promised
that I would not say anything. I
wouldn't butt in because I have a
tendency to butt in. So, that was
Richard giving a tour and I hope you
enjoyed it and I certainly did. Thank
you so much for watching. Have a great
week everyone. I'll see you next week.
Bye.
[Applause]
