The teammate behind you can pick you up.
Line drive, and a base hit.
Runner around third on his way to the plate.
He'll score easily.
And it's an RBI single, and they lead by two.
First and second.
Two outs.
Bryson Stock stands in for the Phillies.
On the ground to Jazz.
In plenty of time to first, let alone the inning.
Max Kepler.
He's out in left field getting loose there as he enters the game.
He's on defense now.
Hard ground ball, baseman.
And a tying run to the plate.
He was all over that one.
He wasn't able to elevate it, but he put a great swing on it.
Right on time.
Good, balanced approach.
And just blasted it through the infield.
To the batter now.
Jazz Chisholm, Jr.
With the tying run at the plate.
Near the bottom half of the eighth inning.
Gets the bunt down the right side.
Barehand bread.
There's one.
And he'll eat it and be happy with the out.
Man, who doesn't love a sweet barehand play like that?
The right fielder.
Spencer Jones.
The Yankees looking to rally.
And stepping in for the Yankees, Spencer Jones.
You know, this is kind of a tough matchup as a left-handed hitter facing a left-handed pitcher.
What you tell yourself is I want to stay square to the plate.
Runner on the goal.
It's a pitch out.
Saved the second with a stolen base.
Chris, his wheels were the difference maker on that plate.
Just got in there.
Yeah, with Steadcast's help, we see his top speed on this stolen base.
And that's a big number.
I mean, man, he really made his athleticism work for him on that.
Pretty good pitch to take a pass at.
And a 1-0 count.
Just not able to square it up.
Swing and a high fly ball.
Well struck.
That one's carrying.
Bang!
Spencer Jones with his first major league home run.
A special moment in his young career.
And who knows, maybe that will open the floodgates for him.
Yeah, getting that out of the way can be a big confidence booster.
It feels like a huge weight just been taken off your back.
A lot less pressure on you now.
And I wouldn't be surprised if he gets hot for a little while.
What do you remember about your first career homer, Chris?
Well, I remember it was off of Omar Alavarez.
And, you know, being there in Los Angeles against the Angels,
just a tremendous day, great ballpark, and a special moment for sure.
