Beta trials factory team rider; Jorge Casales, and his mechanic Simone Negri, demonstrate how to prepare a trials bike for an event. This video is part one of three of a short series, and talks about setting up the throttle, rear fender, tire pressure adjustments on a Beta Evo 300 Factory 2-stroke trials bike.
This video also contains some really good footage of Jorge Casales competing at a few different events.
Another very important thing is the pilot gas compromise, because on the gas and on the wrist I have all the touch of the engine and the touch of the rear wheel.
Did you do the gas? Because I feel that it is a little too much.
We have to do it.
The lubrication of the gas control is carried out by removing the cover, then the cable and once the two screws are removed, the control can be removed.
At this point, the control is lubricated through the fork, a few drops are also put on the handlebar and then reassembled.
Once everything is reassembled, you can proceed to the test.
Another important thing is the mudguard behind. This is a standard mudguard, which is not good for me for this reason.
Sometimes when I make some big walls or some very important turns, if you go out of the mudguard and then you can't get in, you can hurt yourself.
I know pilots who have had big problems with this and I don't want to have problems.
Here, Giordi, don't worry, I've just prepared one with the flexible. This is the difference.
Yes, with this, if I go out, I can get in without any problem and with this, I get more dirty and it's more racing.
A very important job of the mechanic in the race is, before each area, to look at the tire pressure behind.
The pressure is usually between 0.25 bar and 0.32 bar. Depending on the type of area, the pressure is higher or lower.
If it's a river area that slides a lot, the pressure is usually as low as possible, which is 0.25.
This gives you more confidence on the ground and takes more on the ground with water.
If it's an area with big walls and big jumps, the maximum pressure is applied to have a higher jumping ability.
