Shelling at Bowmans Beach, Sanibel. Scallops, Tulips, Florida Fighting Conch

hello and thank you for watching another installment of some fun beaches that we go and explore at today I'm gonna tell you about Bowman's Beach this is located over on Sanibel you'll see there's plenty of parking receptacles for your garbage some signs it's always helpful to have signs and the area does have restrooms vending machines bicycle racks picnic tables what else can I tell you about here's the restrooms pretty spread out lots of room there's some changing areas there's the same changing areas it's more picnic tables there's see a barbecue grill we actually use the picnic tables on this fine day once we got back from our walk there's a children's playground another helpful sign little pavilion I think I remember seeing a sign that you could actually rent that out which would be kind of cool so if you go to Bauman's be prepared to walk it's a little bit of a hike from the parking area all the way through you saw the tables and restrooms and all that over the bridge and then you finally get to the beach so make sure you bring your little beach buggy don't lug all your stuff out there we like to get out early so we you know there was plenty of parking when we got there plenty of room to stretch around and our goal for the day was really shelling we wanted to see what kind of cool shows we could find and once we got out to the beach we walked to the left which would be south and there were plenty of shelves but maybe not necessarily the kind that you really want to collect you know clams and whatnot I mean they're fun they're fine but you know it's not a horse conquer lightening well-core a tool up or any of the other kind cool shells you can collect so there's like I said there are shells in the surf there but here's a scallop pretty it's got some stuff on him but he's alive he's got to go back there's another scallop and another I like to me it was pretty there's a whitening look see I also managed to find an olive and this guy I'm not sure what he would have been big maybe you like me look it's hard to say here's another olive scallop lots of shells but any to keep now lots of pink scallops on this particular day I tend to go through phases where one day all I want to get is jingles and one day all I want to get is hang stones today was scallop day now at this point I wouldn't I don't know if I would necessarily say we were disappointed but it's Sanibel you know I was kind of expecting I don't know piles and piles of really awesome shells and I guess there are piles and piles of shells but just a matter of I guess what you're kind of looking for great day for scallops maybe guests here Oh scallop I almost have been broken all right miss by a little lightning well another pretty little pink scallop and today we had visitors they were dolphin playing right in the surf I love when that happens I love Southwest Florida that would have been a big guy and so I've obviously been sitting out for a while but it's still kind of cool to check out into cool all right got ourselves another lightning walk it's on another video the lightning walk actually get their name from the zig zags of the juveniles because it looks like lightning so that's where they get their name from oh pretty orange scallop definitely tons of shells now that looks like an albino Hollis gee that's weird more scallops on this day if you were in the market for some pink scallops you were gonna be in luck what guys kind of cool now I will tell you that we definitely did find a sweet spot to collect and that's a little bit later in the video no scallop that would have been a good one surprised it's so colorful considering how big it is pen shell there is a another scallop a guy's cool it's got yellow in it and olive okok so we walked and walked and walked I want to say I'm guessing we probably walked maybe four miles it was a bit we were pretty determined to I don't find something good seashells seashells everywhere but none that I can keep all right there was a few there we go never find in some of those Florida fighting I prefer the juveniles their shells tend to be a little bit thinner but oh man I just think they're so pretty Oh lyrics bonus yep to the lovely Florida conch I love that buttery one on the on the right he's really cool I always check make sure there's no critters in there yeah guys pretty all right what else we gonna find a tulip well that's awesome look at the shells there we go now we found a good spot they're everywhere there's another me racks giant olive all right maybe not giant but that's pretty good size olive tons of shows coloring on that guy's so pretty yeah he's nice chip I don't keep him it's so fun to pick through and well we deserved it we walked really far so it was a great day for the conch and another tulip so this was definitely exciting after kind of walking around and picking up those scallop for I don't know probably hours to finally find this sweet little spot that had all these different shells shark eye but it's broken he's cool so we were south of Bowman's beach that's where we were north of rabbit road and South the Bowman so we really took quite a bit of a hike and at some point we had to call it I mean oh I guess we could have walked all day but at this point I think we're finally finally deciding to leave that is a albino lightning walk super cool you know find those every day says plan I'm probably going by shells wish I had a wheel barrel alright maybe just one more so it started out slow but overall I was pretty pretty happy with our
