Like & subscribe costs nothing and means a lot :)

... Apart from these 6 things, it's actually much more lenient than you might think. Mobile phones, coca cola (apparently people think that's banned?), all OK!
Apart from these 6 things, there are also other things you should never bring in. Sometimes it takes a bit of common sense...
If you think there is anything I've missed off this list, let me know!
If you have anything you thought should be on there/are not sure about, ask in the comments! :)
1. Bibles (religious materials )
2. Anything in the Korean language ( or from South Korea)
3. Anything related with North Korea
4. Offensive media.
5. GPS devices
6...
Recommend:
Also best not to take your laptop, and to sign out of social media etc… You never know what's on there that you might have forgotten. And you don't want your laptop to be the one the customs officer checks and finds something inappropriate on.
#northkorea #northkoreatour #dprk
hi everyone and welcome back just two
things before we get started number one
sorry for the huskiness of my voice
might sound a little bit
since i've had a cold recently and it
doesn't seem to have completely gone yet
don't worry it's not covered
second thing is is thank you very much
to my patrons as always um thank you to
clark james and
charles if you want to support my
channel and do head over to patreon or
please just remember to like and
subscribe it does mean a lot to me
especially during these times when the
north korean border is still closed and
i can't go back for tours and for making
any more like cool videos in the country
they will be coming up so make sure that
you do subscribe but for the moment i'm
going to continue making these videos
these q a's and also these vlogs from
past footage that i have filmed in north
korea over the past few years so
without further ado that brings us to
this video this week which is all about
things that you can't take to north
korea
there's a lot of misleading information
out there there's a lot of just
completely untrue things about what you
can bring into north korea and what
you're coming into north korea so that's
pretty much why i want to make this
video um number one just to let you know
so if you ever decide to come to at all
come on a tour to north korea you know
what you can't bring and number two to
kind of settle the score and be like
no okay
this is what you can't bring um
if i have missed out anything
then or if you think i've missed out
anything or if you've heard of something
that you think that you can't take to
north korea that isn't in this video do
put it in the comments below
um
sorry
and um and i can let you know if it's
something that i've missed out or if
it's something that um actually it's
okay to take to north korea
what i will say is that traveling to
north korea it's better to be safe than
sorry so
if you have a question if you are not
sure about what you can take into north
korea about you what you can't take into
north korea then do
ask no question is too stupid and it is
always better to be on the safe side
because they do have some pretty strict
rules
so
the first thing and the most important
thing
um
to not bring into north korea the
absolute number one thing if the customs
officers only ask you about one thing it
will be this thing
that thing is
bibles
okay and this extends also to any
religious material it is not permitted
to bring bibles into north korea any
religious material into north korea and
it is also not permitted whilst you're
there to um propagate religion
number two
anything really in the korean language
so that's any publication any media
something like that from south korea
um
anything um yeah including any songs any
movies any books anything like that in
the korean language this kind of relates
to number three which is any media about
the dprk so that's any books any films
any
thing
any guidebooks on the on on the dprk on
north korea is also not permitted to be
brought into the country unless it's
been published in north korea so north
korea have recently started doing um
you know kind of quite fancy and modern
uh guidebooks um kind of like lonely
planet style guide books to north korea
of course you can take them in and out
of north korea um but if it hasn't been
produced in north korea then please do
not take any materials about north korea
into north korea this leads me on to
number four
which is pretty much the same thing but
just really make sure that you're not
bringing anything into north korea that
could be deemed as offensive material so
that's anything about the dprk
um
any movies i'm sure a few of them come
to mind please make sure
that you do not bring them into north
korea in fact i actually really
recommend that you leave your laptops at
home
um and you log out of your social media
before you enter north korea because
i'm sure if your family and friends know
that you are going to visit north korea
they're probably going to send you a few
fun memes a few from pictures that you
just really don't want
the customs officers to be seeing
when you are entering north korea and
they go on your phone
sometimes they go on your phone this is
this they are allowed to they're
permitted to usually doesn't happen but
it could happen and you really don't
want them to see
anything of the um
things that you might see usually on the
internet about north korea
two more things so the next one is gps
devices
this one is a little bit problematic um
because
pretty much everything has gps on it at
the moment all electronics so your
phones watches things like that all have
gps
basically the kind of rule of thumb here
is to turn your gps off and if the
customs officer asks then say that you
have no gps devices it's certainly not
permitted to bring in any satellite
phones or any specific
just gps devices
and finally the last one something that
is banned in north korea and that you
should not be bringing in on your tour
to north korea
pornography
i will say no more
so that is pretty much it um it's a
fairly short list of things that you
should not be bringing into north korea
and it's by all means not a definitive
list and you definitely have to use your
common sense a little bit definitely
wouldn't recommend um any clothing with
any um political statements on it for
example or any flags and of course your
own country flag is okay unless
your country has um
trying relations with uh the dprk
and so um like i said at the beginning
if you have any questions please feel
free to ask in the comments below um on
this video and hopefully there will be a
day sometime soon that this will
actually come in handy in terms of
visiting north korea um let's hope for a
day that
this pandemic ends soon and also the
borders to north korea open once again
thanks for tuning in do remember to like
and subscribe really means a lot to me
um and i will see you next week
