So how do I cope when I'm in North Korea and can't talk to normal North Korean people..?
Things are not always as they seem....
Yup, that's right!
You can talk to North Koreans.
And believe me, I do.
(Not only talk, but sing and dance too!)

- Who am I? -
Hello! I'm Zoe and I'm from the UK. I'm here to give you a different insight into North Korea, from someone who has called it their second home for more than 2 years.
I'm not here to play into the media role of saying how crazy and terrifying North Korea is. There are plenty of vlogs out there who give you that "experience".
I'm here to give facts, answer questions, and show a human insight into the DPRK (North Korea).

hello everybody so today we're going to
talk about can I talk to your friends
it's not Korea so I don't really know
where this misconception came from that
you can't interact with them alone
through what I will say first is that it
would be pretty difficult to go to a
country and not have any interactions
with you know called whether that be a
smile or whether that be a full-on
conversation both are ok so the first
obstacle potentially stopping you from
talking to local North Koreans is can
you speak Korean this is something that
I also struggle with in fact I've been
learning Korean ever since I started
working in the country but it's a very
difficult language and I don't expect
you to be able to speak it there are
many people in North Korea especially in
the city that can speak English and if
they want to they will speak with you so
you should not be entitled to think that
they want to speak with you just like I
don't think that everybody in the
mountains to speak with me maybe you
looking across a Korean when you're
sitting in a local bar or a local
restaurant sometimes I'm going before
for example you could be sitting in a
restaurant and there's a birthday party
going on and I've been invited up to
down everything in karaoke with the
family and that always a really great
experience however sometimes you'll be
sitting on the other planning Metro of a
subway and everyone singing songs you
know he wants to talk to you
that's just like when you're on the
London Metro if I tried to speak to
anybody on the run in the Metro they
would look at me like you crazy
you know sometimes people don't want to
speak to you however there are many
chances to interact with local Koreans
one of the best times to do this and if
you go on a national holiday for example
the display no Koreans have the day off
they look into the park for example if
it's in summer they'll go to the park
they'll have picnics they'll have a few
beers they'll dance insane and one of my
favorite moments it's a snap sitting
with one of the old ladies who I've seen
in the past a few times she'll remember
their family dancing in the park and
singing one of my favorite smoking songs
with her so you can have interactions
with local North Korean and the most
important thing is if you will be with
no three minutes as well don't forget
that these are also Google Earth means
but that English is great and they may
be able to give you a good insight into
the country these people are not there
to be your government minders okay
they're there to hope you have fun hope
you enjoy your time in North Korea and
also help you to understand the culture
and that's why I think it's really
important to chat with them and find out
as much as you can about their lives
about their country and they will be
very happy to answer your questions so I
hope that answers your question can you
and try to live the North Koreans can
you speak the answer is yes and
especially so
but it for today I need your question in
the comment box below and I will see you
next time
