👋🏼 About us Hi y’all! We’re Adam, Kathryn, and Kona, an adventurous married couple (+ pup!) living on the road in our self-converted sprinter van! You can often find us driving all around the US and Canada, scoping out the best coffee shops, eating tacos and ice cream (we're a 5+ taco and 2+ scoop household), and enjoying nature.
We help travelers spend less time (and stress!) planning their trip and more time enjoying it! Our detailed travel guides, YouTube videos, and travel resources share the must-visit local eats, popular and off the beaten path sights, and tons of tips to make planning your next adventure a whole lot easier.
Note: We’ve linked a handful of items so you can see exactly which products we take with us. Full disclosure--if you click on these links and make a purchase, we get a small commission at no extra cost to you. We will only ever recommend products we truly love, actually use during our adventures, and think you can benefit from too!
So, we have had a bit of a change of
plans.
We have spent the last four months out
west, including across Utah, all around
eastern Oregon, up into the Pacific
Northwest and part of British Columbia,
and visiting a new area of Glacier
National Park. And our plan for the rest
of the summer was to explore the
Canadian Rockies, an area we had been to
many years ago, and we were so excited
to get back to. Just days before
crossing into Canada, we made the tough
decision to cancel all of our plans and
make the very long drive back to Texas
instead.
Long story short, during this last stint
of van life, Kona has shown a lot of
stress and anxiety with driving, which
you do a lot of in van life. And Kona is
a very anxious dog to begin with, but
this was next level. And it was
abundantly clear that she was just very,
very unhappy. And we tried so many
things and nothing was working. And
honestly, behind the scenes, we were all
a bit miserable.
So, after lots and lots of back and
forth and lots of discussions, we
decided what's best for us while we
figured this out and for her is a
stationary home and some stability. So,
about a month ago, we made the hard
decision to leave Montana and drive all
the way back to Catherine's parents
house here in Texas. She has been a lot
happier since getting back here, so we
know it was the right choice. And our
goal while being here is to continue
working with her, plus our vet and a
trainer to hopefully get her through
this so we can continue life on the road
together. But for now, van life is on
pause until it's the right lifestyle for
all three of us.
But since travel is our job and our
livelihood, we still will be traveling a
bit, just without this one right here
and not in the van, or our van at least.
After cancelling our plans, we had
nothing planned until an international
trip in October. So, to make up for the
videos we lost by coming home, we
decided to book a short trip to Europe,
which we are so excited about and think
will be a fantastic plan B.
But before that, we figured we'd use
this extra time here to explore a bit
more of the Austin area. So, stay tuned
for our next video where we'll show you
a bit more around our neck of the woods
when we aren't on the road.
But that's just a super quick life
update so you're not confused how we got
back to Texas and to give you a better
idea of what to expect in the future.
Also, this will be your last time to see
Kona for a little bit. But don't worry,
she's doing great and she's loving her
time at grandma and grandpa's and we're
working very, very hard to get her back
on your screen soon. Right, Kona?
Yeah.
You want to show them your new alien?
I'm going to be back.
I abducted him. Haha. Jokes on him.
Yeah. Ka abducted this alien and then
ripped his arm off. She loves it.
