Hi, I'm Brad. I'm John. Well, we're going to react to a thing that we've already done.
Sounds good. Yeah. So, Band-Maid. Great band. Yes. Japanese rock band formed in 2013.
Thank you, Wikipedia. Didn't really need to know that one, but anyway.
Do you tell my dad because I'll forget by the next time we react.
That's true. You'll forget in about five minutes time.
Since I was on a roll, I actually made note of the details. So, you have the singer, Sakai
Atsumi. I'm going to butcher some names today. The guitarist and singer, Miku Kobato. Lead
guitarist, Kaname Tono. And the bassist, Misa. And drummer, Ekeni Hiros. So, now that I've
gotten most of those wrong- There's five of them?
Yes. I guess so. Singer, guitar, and basically backing singer.
Well, it's been a while since I've done that. Guitarist, bassist, drummer.
Oh, yes. The band combines the hard rock music with the costumes modeled from Japanese-made
cafes. Anyway, at least that's how it started out. Their costumes have drifted a little bit
over time, I've seemed to notice. Anyway, the song in question is Ready to Rock,
which is the opening theme for the anime Rock as a Lady. It's modesty. I always forget there's
another word on the end of that, which was a 13-episode anime series, which released a couple
months back now. However, the English dub is actually releasing this month.
I'm not sure if it's started to release yet. It has released, or it's going to be released.
I tried to find it. I haven't found it. So, I'm assuming it's going to release at the end of the
month. Either that, or I just completely missed it. If I completely missed it, please link it
down below, because I was going to watch the show, because they did the opening song for it.
I haven't, because there wasn't a dubbed version.
But we reacted to this one.
Yes, we reacted. Oh, yes, that's the point. We reacted to this one.
As an official music video.
Which apparently took a lot of its themes from the original manga
comic. This time, we're actually going to react to the live version.
Because Band-Maid, as people keep telling us, it's one of those good bands that it's kind of
like, yeah, you want to see them live, because they're better live than they are studio and
official music video and stuff. They're nice.
Yeah, I think that's a lot of people. But the odds of them ever coming to
Southeast Texas, I don't know. They might.
Yeah, you say that, actually. In 22, they were in Dallas.
Oh, hey, that's only a couple of hours away. I guess it's chances of them coming are
better than I thought they were.
Yeah, I'm sure it was Dallas that they cast them.
I mean, it's a couple hours away, but still, it's kind of like...
It's like four or five hours away, but it's four or five hours away as opposed to being
over the ocean.
That is true. Although, to be honest, I would much rather fly to Japan and actually see them
in Japan. I'm just saying. Because, you know, going on vacation in Japan would be a really good
excuse.
We can't even afford to drive four or five hours to Dallas to see them in concert. They're more
or less flying across the world.
Oh, it's cheaper that way.
Concert tickets.
I guess we could start a GoFundMe to get to Japan.
Let's do a GoFundMe. Why? Because there's like five or six bands that we want to see
who just don't tour outside of Japan.
So, all right, let's check it out. Before we do, make sure you hit that like and subscribe.
Check out the description down below. You're going to find all our links,
information, stuff that we have down there.
Okay, I'm going to hit play.
The sound is 80s.
Yeah, just the energy of a live concert and just the energy you get from watching a live
video.
Which is strange when you think about it, because it's already a pretty high energy
song to start with.
Yeah, live, well, I mean, obviously the audience is participating and bouncing lines back at
them in the first place.
But yeah, you can just tell that their own energy level is higher on what is already,
like I said, a very high energy song.
Yeah, so it's kind of like, oh, you've managed to add more energy into it live than you already
had already.
Yeah.
Pause for YouTube.
Yeah, it is, it's like, they are, there's a quite limited list of bands that I would
actually like to see since we've been doing this that have popped up.
Bandmate is one.
The Warning from down south of the border.
They should spend more time touring in Texas.
They're not that far.
I know, but still, since we've learned of them, they haven't toured near us.
They have toured the entire other side of the country, which is amusing to me.
It's kind of like, oh, we'd like to go see them.
Where are they touring?
New York or Washington.
Why are you over there?
Sabaton's another one who we actually also just missed in Dallas.
23, I think it was.
They played a couple of small shows there.
But yeah, there's a handful.
Bandmate is definitely one of the groups that, yes, two or more here.
If you're watching.
Yes, if you're watching.
And then you clap and you scream, you yell for about five minutes,
and they come back and do their own part.
Yes.
Yep, I remember how concerts go.
Yes.
It's been a while, but yeah, it's pretty sure it's something along those lines.
Yeah.
Well, and I probably say it every time we watch them and these other females.
It's just nice to see a female rock band who knows how to play their instruments.
Because I don't know.
I think it's just they are.
We're looking at you, Spice Girls.
Oh, I don't look at them at all.
They think of themselves as anyway.
They do?
Like, no, you're like a girl band.
Oh, yes.
Like a boy band, girl band, yeah.
And band should be used because you don't play instruments or you're not a band.
You're just a girl group.
You're just singing as a girl singing group or a boy singing group.
Anyway, yeah, it's just, you know, because of just pop music and stuff that's so popular.
Yeah.
To see them doing the more heavy metal rock versions of stuff and know how to play their
instruments and play their instruments good.
Yeah, because I mean, yeah, I mean, even growing up, it's kind of like the industry.
And even today, the industry tends to be you have a lot of female solo artists, but you
don't have a lot of, you know, female groups, let alone female rock, stroke metal groups.
You know, you'll have been a front woman or a very talented front woman, for example.
So, you know, it's not saying there aren't a lot of, you know, very talented female artists
out there.
It's just it seems like there aren't many, you know, real like female groups.
Yeah.
And most of the time, it is a female group.
They usually end up breaking up and like one or two of them become.
So, yeah, the big solo artist.
Yeah.
Giant cat fight.
Anyway, yeah.
Well, yeah, and that's another thing, because you figure since the group came together in
2013, they still have their original lineup.
Yeah.
All right.
Our lineup hasn't changed since they began.
Well, that's good because they're 12 years in.
Yeah, 12 years.
12 years they've been going and they're still going strong.
So that's pretty good.
That's good for any band.
Especially if you have five, you know.
Yeah.
That's good for any band.
I mean, I'm like, you know.
I mean, that would have taken you through the 80s.
Yeah.
I mean, 12 years.
I mean, you know, a lot of bands by now, you've lost at least one or two members.
Most of them are not, you know, immune to that.
Very few that are.
Rammstein is another one that still has their original lineup since they began.
Yeah, that's impressive.
Well, we're obviously going to continue hitting them up.
It's been a while and we need to not take so long in between times.
But other things pop up.
Yeah, things pop up.
Life happens, so.
But we're definitely going to react to him some more.
So if you're going to see any of those, make sure you hit that like and subscribe.
