This is Inside Interior.
This week, Interior made major moves to strengthen America's energy future,
protect taxpayer interests, and keep our nation's capital city safe.
In line with President Donald Trump's directive to make Washington, D.C. safe again,
the Department unveiled new action to enforce law and order.
The revised policies allow Park Police officers to once again pursue fleeing criminals,
enforce a no-tolerance policy for homeless encampments,
and ensure prosecution to the fullest extent for damage to federal property.
Another directive enforces a zero-tolerance policy for soliciting for goods and sleeping
on park grounds. President Trump and this administration are committed to ensuring
that our law enforcement officers have the tools they need to keep D.C.'s federal lands clean,
safe, and welcoming for everyone.
The Department of the Interior also rolled out a long-term schedule for at least 30 offshore
oil and gas lease sales in the Gulf of America and Alaska's Cook Inlet,
all part of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
By committing to a clear and bolstered schedule, we're delivering on President Trump's promise to
boost American energy production and support jobs, power homes, and strengthen our economy.
We're also modernizing how oil and gas operations are regulated.
The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement, along with the Bureau of Land Management,
is updating co-mingling rules to align with the One Big Beautiful Bill Act
and cut red tape around our oil industry.
It's a win for American producers, taxpayers, tribes, and for American energy dominance.
That's it for this edition of Inside Interior.
