Selena Gomez Talks Turning 30 and Says She’d LOVE to Reboot ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ (Exclusive)

Congratulations on season two. I started watching it and it was hard to stop watching it in order to come here. Like it's just that good. It has a hundred percent on Rotten Tomatoes. It's being called the best. It's unbelievable. Best work of your guys' lives. How do you react to that? I have no idea. It's a dream. It's fantastic. It's what you hoped it would be. They forgot about my 1982 TV special. I'm completely, I'm so astonished and really grateful. I'm so happy. What would an Emmy nomination mean to you guys? There's some talk about that. I don't know. I've never been nominated for those kinds of awards you have. You know, I, no, no, I won an Emmy in 1968 for writing on this Mother's Brothers comedy hour and it was a posthumous award because the show had been canceled. Yeah. What you're saying is it's time. You know, every 50 years it's good to get an Emmy. And how many Emmys do you have? Five. Well, I want to say five but I have one. On your way to five. Hopefully, yeah. You are turning the big 3-0 very soon so happy early birthday. I'm turning the big 8-0 in like two years. What are you looking forward to most in this next decade of life and how do you plan to celebrate? I have no idea what to expect. Getting older is weird but I love it and I'm finding out new things about myself. It's just, honestly, I enjoy getting older so here's to 30. In the first episode of the new season we see that Brazos is getting the reboot treatment. For each of you guys, if you could remake or reboot anything that you've done in your careers, what would it be? That was a creative. You can't list a decade of work. In order to make it better? You mean like I would say I really had fun shooting Dirty Rotten Scoundrels with Michael Caine and Glenn Headley but I couldn't do better. I would just be fun to visit all the people in the south of France. That would be fun. Mine's Wizards, hands down. I would love that. It's time right? Wizards. It's my Disney show. You don't know.
