You want to speak fluent German,
but when you speak German, you have the feeling
that the words just don't come out.
You're not alone there.
Today I'm going to show you five practical tips
on how to speak German more safely, more clearly
and much more relaxed.
And that in everyday life as well.
Welcome to your German Professional Channel.
The biggest hurdle for many German learners
is the fear of speaking.
This is caused by the fear of making mistakes
and the feeling of having to speak German perfectly.
But that's not true at all.
Because the biggest mistake you can make
is not speaking at all.
So be careful when learning German with you
and don't make mistakes.
Remember that mistakes are your best friends
and you can learn from mistakes
and make progress very quickly.
The first tip is to read aloud every day.
Reading aloud helps your brain
to connect pronunciation, sentence melody
and word structure.
Your mouth trains German like a muscle.
Learning German every day brings something.
Read simple German texts,
for example newspaper articles,
and read them aloud.
This way you become more and more familiar
with the German language.
If you want to make even more progress quickly,
then stop reading
and listen to yourself afterwards.
This can feel very strange at first,
but it gives you the opportunity
to improve yourself more and more.
Tip 2. Imitate native speakers.
This is also called shadow technique.
Imitation means imitating someone.
This process helps the brain
to automate what you have done.
This way you can use your knowledge
much faster and better next time.
So look for videos, series or podcasts
and imitate them.
This way you train rhythm, intonation
and pronunciation like native speakers.
Tip 3. Talk to yourself.
This sounds totally strange,
but self-talks help you
to become more confident.
Talk to yourself aloud,
for example while cooking.
Now I'm cutting the onion.
Now I'm adding oil to the pan.
Now I'm frying the vegetables.
Or make an audio diary every evening.
You could also make the diary entry
in writing first
to practice writing
and then record it as audio.
This way you even practice
without needing a learning partner.
Tip 4. Remember that mistakes are okay.
Many German learners don't speak
because they are afraid of mistakes.
But mistakes are learning opportunities.
Realize that even native speakers
make mistakes.
So talk as much as you can,
even if not everything is perfect.
It's important that you are brave and confident.
If you have overcome the fear of mistakes
when speaking,
then speaking becomes much more fun
and you are much more motivated
to continue learning German.
Tip 5. Integrate German into your everyday life.
Language lives in everyday life.
If you want to speak more and more fluently,
you also have to expand your vocabulary.
This is possible by transferring the learned words
directly into everyday life.
Put your phone in German,
watch series in German
or with subtitles,
listen to podcasts and news in German
and maybe listen to German music.
Maybe you already dare to think in German.
For example,
What do I have to do today?
And then you think about your to-do's
for today.
For example,
I have to go shopping.
Or I have to do the laundry.
Or I have to study for my B2 exam.
It is important for you to know
that you cannot translate everything
from your language
into the German language.
This is not possible.
In the German language
there are other grammar rules,
but you have certainly noticed that.
Therefore,
don't translate everything one-to-one,
but rather think about simpler sentences.
Phew, that was a lot.
So that you don't go out of this video
feel free to write in the comments
which of these five tips
you would like to use today.
And in the meantime,
you can also subscribe to our channel
so that you don't miss anything
from Deutsch Profi.
And maybe you also need
a little extra help.
Now you have got a lot of tips,
but maybe you don't want to learn it alone.
Especially practicing speaking alone
can be quite exhausting.
Sometimes it is much nicer
to do this with a learning partner.
And finding someone for it
can sometimes not be that easy.
Therefore, if you are still looking
for a suitable learning partner,
feel free to write in the comments
who you are,
what level you are at,
what your hobbies may be,
and what your strengths
and weaknesses are.
If you don't live in the same city,
you could, for example,
meet online to learn.
I definitely wish you a lot of fun
learning and practicing.
I hope you will tune in again
next time.
See you then!
