嗨,大家好,欢迎来到拉拉的中文课。
今天我会再说一些容易用错的中文词。
在解释这些词的时候,我会说英文。
那我们开始吧!
How do you say interesting in Chinese?
Is it 有意思?
Well, many times this is correct.
But compared to the English word interesting,
有意思 in Chinese is more restrictive
and generally conveys a positive and pleasant meaning.
这是我做的青椒拿铁。
青椒拿铁?快尝尝。
味道怎么样?
味道很有意思。
I think sometimes using interesting is a polite way of expressing disinterest
or camouflaging your true feelings.
But you cannot use 有意思 in this way.
Actually, as an English learner,
I still feel confused about how to use the word interesting.
So please let me know if I'm wrong.
I think sometimes interesting is used when you are interested in something
and you want to learn more about it.
As an example, if a Chinese friend introduces you to a history exhibition about a war
in which China was invaded and many people lost their lives,
in this context, if you say
这个展览很有意思,
would be really offensive
because most of the time,
有意思 is used to describe something enjoyable or amusing,
but it does not extend to negative or undesirable situations.
I've noticed some of my students use 有意思 in similar contexts.
It got me thinking,
in English, can you use interesting to show interest in something,
even if this is a sad or heavy topic?
I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
Basically, 有意思 always conveys a positive and pleasant meaning.
However, in certain contexts, you can say
你这个人真有意思
in a sarcastic tone to imply someone is being rude or unreasonable or foolish.
恐怕 means I'm afraid that or I'm concerned that.
It often used to express concern or the possibility of something unfavorable happening.
It does not necessarily imply personal fear.
我们来看看这两个句子。
I'm afraid of spiders.
我害怕蜘蛛。
I'm afraid I can't come.
我恐怕不能来。
现在你觉得你已经知道怎么用恐怕了吗?
嗯,等一等,来看看这个句子。
I'm afraid it will rain today.
Some of my students might say 我恐怕今天会下雨。
这个句子是不对的。
恐怕 can be placed either before or after the subject.
So there are two ways to say I'm afraid I can't come in Chinese.
我恐怕不能来 or 恐怕我不能来
Here 我 translates the second I in the English sentence.
今天恐怕会下雨 or 恐怕今天会下雨
Let's practice with one more sentence.
I'm afraid you guessed wrong.
你恐怕猜错了 or 恐怕你猜错了
我喜欢喝茶。
I like drinking tea.
我喜欢 I like.
But how do you say I'd like to in Chinese?
喜欢 means to like or to be fond of.
If you want to express would like to in Chinese,
you can say 想要 or 要
我想要喝茶。
I would like to have some tea.
我喜欢喝茶。
I like drinking tea.
Success 成功
我们看一下这个句子。
She wants to have success in her studies.
她想要在她的学习中有成功。
这个句子也是错的。
Success 是名词。
在中文里成功也可以是名词。
但是 have success 你得说获得成功 or 取得成功。
也就是说成功 can be used as a noun but not paired with the verb 有。
其实在中文里成功常常是 verb or adjective,
比如他是一个成功的老板,
但他不是一个成功的父亲。
I made it.
你可以说我成功了。
你也可以对我说,
拉拉,祝你的YouTube频道成功!
好啦,这就是今天的内容。
希望对你有帮助。
那我们下次见!
