while you relax to the sound of their purrs. You're looking for an affectionate cat breed
that shows tons of love and attention to their owners and is playful too.

In the ancient world, dusty desert caravans journeyed westward from Persia or modern-day Iran
carrying precious cargo. Among the rare spices and jewels on these camels
was an even more precious cargo, the Persian cat.
Beautiful with their long luxurious coat, Persian cats have sweet, gentle, calm personalities.
Playful but never demanding, they love to pose and will drape themselves in a favorite window
or chair, enhancing the decor in much the same way as a treasured painting.
Paint me like one of your French girls.
Persians are not very energetic. They're happy lounging on the couch,
enjoy getting ear scratches, or sitting in your lap. Providing a constant source of joy
and delight, Persian cats build a bond with their owners that is close and endearing.
Originally from Devonshire, England, the Devon Rex has an elven, almost alien-like appearance
due to a natural genetic mutation. It has a personality between a cat, dog, and a monkey.
That is quite the combination. They are a social and fun-loving breed that possesses
dog-like qualities. A person must be prepared to be owned by a Devon.
A Devon will eat with you, sleep with you, follow you around the house, or jump on your lap the
minute you sit down. Family members will frequently find a Devon nestled in their laps or cradled in
their arms. Their playful nature means they are always up for a game of hide-and-seek or fetch.
Devons remain kittens at heart forever and have great personalities. Some say they are 99%
personality and 1% cat. The Ragdoll name comes from the tendency of the cat breed to go limp
and relax when picked up. This is also why they are known as floppy cats.
Ragdoll cats are ideal if you are looking for a lovable and easy-going cat. Ragdolls are known
to follow their humans from room to room. They may greet you at the door when you come home from work,
guard you while you go to the bathroom, or sit on your lap while you work.
I myself own two Ragdoll cats, Teemo and Arya. Docile, gentle, and sweet,
both can act like puppies and like to be by my side. Arya, trying to cheer me up?
This is a cat that loves affection and being very close to people,
making it ideal for children and making friends with other pets in the household.

recent years. In 2022, the Cat Fanciers Association, or CFA, has determined a ragdoll breed as the most
popular cat breed in the world for four years straight. If you're looking for a cuddly little
teddy bear with a super soft fluffy coat, look no further than the ragdoll cat. And if you want to
learn more about ragdoll cats, you can check out my video in the description below. Bred from a
natural genetic mutation where cats are born without hair, the texture of sphinx skin can
feel like a fuzzy warm peach or a buttery smooth leather purse. Because sphinx cats have no hair,
they are often cold and need a source of heat to keep them comfortable. This is where humans come
in. This mutually beneficial relationship gives these cats warmth while their humans reap the
cuddly benefits. They'll also cuddle with you beneath the covers at night and perch on your
lap during the day. Sphinx cats are extremely lovable, known to perform silly things, and can
be downright clumsy in their attempts to get your attention. They also have abundant energy and are
mischievous, always wanting to be with you, on you, or showing off for you. Because of the lack of hair
that would normally absorb body oils, sphinx cats need periodic bathing and ear cleaning.
Maine Coon cats are native to America and were first recognized as a specific breed in Maine,
where it was named the official cat of the state. Traditionally, they were used to hunt mice on farms.
Don't let their big size fool you. Maine Coon cats are agile, intelligent hunters. Just ask the mice.
Known as the gentle giant, Maine Coon cats are a social cat that is good with children and other
pets. Whether that means lounging on the couch or sitting at the table for dinner,
they are intelligent, trainable, and sometimes described as dog-like. When you adopt one, expect
to lose your privacy because a Maine Coon cat wants to be part of everything in your life.
They also have a fondness for water, so don't be surprised if you have an uninvited guest
in your shower. You can't go wrong in choosing a Maine Coon cat.
The Scottish Fold is all about the ears. A random mutation happened naturally that caused their
ears to fold forward. However, their ears aren't the only special thing about them.
Scottish Folds are affectionate and social and don't like being left alone. So if you're out of
the house a lot, this may not be the breed for you. But if you have extra time to spare, you
might have found your match. Scottish Folds have tiny voices and are not extremely vocal, but adore
human companionship and display this in their own quiet way. Little is known about the origin
of the Russian Blue breed. Rumors have said the breed is descended from the cats kept by
the Russian Tsars or originated in the Archangel Isles in northern Russia. The Russian Blue is
known for the striking green eyes and silvery blue coat. The coat color is an even bright blue,
and each guard hair appears as if dipped in silver, giving it a lustrous appearance.
The coat is also quite thick, and as a result, Russian Blue cats shed very little around the
house. The Russian Blue is a gentle cat with a somewhat shy nature around strangers,
but are extremely devoted to and affectionate with their loved ones. The intelligent,
playful disposition and affectionate nature is what makes the Russian Blue a perfect pet for
most households. The exotic Shorthair is an ideal breed that produces a quiet, sweet, peaceful,
and loyal companion. They are a perfect breed for active people who like the look of Persians but
don't have time to deal with the high grooming needs. Their wonderful coat requires much less
combing than a Persian's, and will not mat or tangle. The exotic personality is extremely
friendly with characteristics akin to those of a dog or kitten. Since the breed personality is
so calm, the exotic Shorthair makes a wonderful lap cat. You'll enjoy snuggling up next to this
bundle of joy, and listening to him purr himself to sleep. The exotic is a wonderful addition to
any family. At first glance, you may mistake a Bombay cat for a miniature panther. This breed
is still relatively rare in North America. Bombay owners love the fact that these cats are so loving
and people-oriented. They are generally friendly to strangers, so don't be startled if he beats
you to the door to greet houseguests. Their stunning copper eyes and sleek black coat
also makes them stand out. They can be leash trained, and most enjoy playing fetch. They
adapt well to busy lifestyles, and usually get along with children, elders, and other pets.
Once you meet a cute and cuddly Bombay, you may be hooked. I hope you enjoyed this video so far.

or modern-day Thailand, Siamese cats have fascinated people from around the world.
They have a distinctive masked look and striking pale blue eyes. The breed is exceptionally social.
Prepare to have long conversations with your talkative kitty. They are loyal and love to
engage with their owners by sitting in their lap. Extremely active, Siamese cats are determined
climbers. They need sturdy cat trees or shelves to keep them occupied. Enchanting with magical blue
eyes, a gentle demeanor, and the best friend you ever had, this describes the Burman cat.
They have piercing blue eyes and a long silky coat that does not mat. The Burman has a sweet
personality and will accompany you when you do the dishes, fold laundry, or make the bed.
They love to be with people and are extremely patient and tolerant. You'll never be alone
with a Burman in your home. The American Shorthair breed originated from cats following settlers
from Europe to North America. The cats helped the early Americans to hunt rats eating their crops.
An American Shorthair may resemble any stray cat, but the difference is generations of selective
breeding have guaranteed the coat quality and temperament, with silver tabby being the most
common color. This breed is known for its longevity, robust health, good looks, and sweet
personality. No wonder the American Shorthair is one of the most popular cat breeds. A cross between
the Siamese and Burmese breeds, a Tonkinese cat is generous with their affection. You'll never be
alone again as they sit in your lap or want to play with you. Tonkinese are beautiful,
medium-sized cats with a heavy, muscular build. Their fur is short, soft, and silky. It's easy
to care for and wonderful to pet. If you're looking to get one of these cat breeds, you can
check a shelter or a reputable breeder. Avoid backyard breeders. A reputable breeder is registered
with the TICA or CFA. Both cat organizations ensure a certain standard is met. The cats are bred
ethically and genetic diseases are screened out so your cat is healthy and has a good temperament.
Do your research before choosing a breeder.
