Basement Chronicles Episode 3 - Is The Black Panther My Hero?

What's up, family? Basement Chronicles, episode 3. I'm back. I'm just here to encourage my brothers and sisters in Christ. I wanted to give you something that will edify and will uphold everyone in their lives today. I'm not a pastor, preacher, or whatever you may want to call it. I'm just a guy who wants to serve God and share God's message with the rest of the world. I know that today's world and what's going on in society is so questioning. Everyone has questions. What took place in Florida on February 14th last week, last Wednesday. The evil in the world today is becoming more and more apparent that we need to get closer to God. I want to just give you guys encouragement. Let you guys know that there is a God that looks down. There is Jesus Christ who feels our infirmities. He knows and he senses our pain. He is real and he knows what's going on. Many of you guys have questions. Does God really exist? Why does he allow these things to happen? Why does he allow good people to die? The question is, we think we're all good, right? The other part of that question is, do we know if anyone is good? The Bible says that no man is good. Not necessarily saying that we don't do good things. It's just saying that in our hearts we all have sinned. In life, we all have sinned and fallen short of God's glory. I'm not saying that God doesn't want to save us. He wants to save us. He wants to save us, not in the sin that we're in, but he wants us to come out of sin. My brothers and sisters, yes, many of us are dying and dying young. We're dying in ways that the devil is just snatching us up. That doesn't necessarily mean that God does not love us. God loves us and he cares for each individual. The Bible says he even knows the number of hair on our heads. That's how much he cares for us. The other thing that's going around right now is the Black Panther. This movie is like the crave of the black community right now. It's like the biggest thing ever. I want you guys to remember that there is something much bigger and there's something much deeper than the Black Panther going on right now. We're putting our monies toward Marvel. Marvel is the one who created the film. We're giving our monies to Marvel. Hey, I'm not judging anybody. I'm not saying you're wrong for watching the movie. That's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is this. We need to take time and step back. The movie in and of itself is steeped in spiritualism and witchcraft, violence. I know it's entertainment. I know that it's entertainment. But the real truth of the matter is this. Are we really being entertained in our hearts and our minds of something that is edifying? Or are we just sitting there and putting things into our subconscious not knowing that our subconscious is really recording a lot of this? Eventually, somewhere in life, we want to be that Black Panther. We have our kids wanting to be that Black Panther or the villain in Black Panther. They start reenacting these things. When they start reenacting these things, the more that they see the violence, the more they become desensitized to it. The more it becomes a way of life to them. Then they start acting it out in real life. This is the reason why we ought to stay away from these things. Again, I'm not judging anybody. I'm not saying anybody is wrong or right. But I just want to give the truth about things. We ought to guard the avenues of our minds, guard the avenues of our soul. Your eyes are the windows to your soul. Whatever you put in, that will come out. Again, I understand. Larry, it's just a movie. What harm can be done from a movie? It's entertainment. Well, I'm going to say this. A young boy by the age of 18 buys an AR-15, goes to a school, and shoots it down. Shoots down kids 17, 16, 15 years old, 14 years old. That could have been my son who is 14 years old right now in school. I mean, you got these kids reenacting video games, reenacting movies. And we try to figure out. We blame it on the guns. Right? But we don't think about the other parts. We don't think about that it could be what he was watching, what he's put his mind to. Right? I mean, whatever we put into our minds, whatever we put into our souls, that will be enacted. It will be reenacted. And it will be played out in real life eventually. I mean, if we want to go deeper, we want to go deeper. Many people watch pornography. And they literally want to act out what they see on pornography. In the porn films, in the porn movies. This is what we do. It's that monkey see, monkey do world that we live in. And again, I just want to encourage my brothers and sisters. Stay grounded in the faith. Stay grounded in God's word. Because these distractions, these spiritual type of distractions will engulf us. The Bible says in Ephesians chapter 6 verse 10. Sorry, Ephesians chapter 6, yes, verse 10 and verse 11 that we wrestle. Verse 12, we wrestle not against flesh and blood. In verse 10 it says put on the whole armor of God. Right? So we have to understand that we're not wrestling against somebody who we could see. We're wrestling against somebody who we cannot see. Right? So we have to be very careful of what we do. What we put into our minds. What we put into our souls. Again, I'm not going to, I'm not coming after anybody who went to watch the movies. I know many of them, many brothers and sisters have gone out and watched the movies. But I am just putting it out there that we have to be very careful what we put into our minds and our souls. And for the adults, it may not bother you much. But for your children, that's who you really have to look out for. That's who you really have to watch out for. Because those are the ones that it's being put into their subconscious mind already that our children cannot cope with any type of hardship. They don't know how to cope with hardship because we're not really raising them up to cope with hardship. But when they meet, when the rubber meets the road, they would not know how to deal with things. And they go back into their subconscious mind looking for a hero or trying to be that hero. And then all of a sudden, it all falls apart. So we have to be very careful. All I'm saying is there are things that are coming down, coming to us very, very soon that if we're not really paying attention, if we're not really up to see what's happening, it will catch us unawares. We'll be off guard. We'll be caught off guard. The Black Panther is one thing. But there's something bigger coming. The Bible says in Revelation, chapter 13, verses, verses three, right? That that beast that John saw, the whole world wandered after the beast. Revelation, chapter 13, verse three, the whole world wandered after the beast. We have to be very careful that we're not a part of the world wandering. Whatever the mass is doing, step back and look at what the mass is doing. If everybody is flocking, step back for a moment and go, why is everybody going that way? And then look at the other direction. And if there's three or four people going over there and they're being mocked for going over there, that's the direction you might need to go into. Do not follow the mass. Because in most cases, in very most cases, it's leading to destruction. All I'm trying to do is share with my brothers and sisters what it is that God has given us. What it is that God has provided in our hearts to be ready, to be prepared for his coming. We're not going to go to heaven in sin. Because sin cannot dwell in heaven. And Jesus is not going to come and wipe away our sins when he comes. No, he's asking for us to ask him for forgiveness today. And to join his ranks in the war against spirituality, against wickedness in high places. He's looking for us to join the ranks of him, to be a part of his army. Remember that song, we are soldiers in the army of the Lord. Well, Christ is looking for us to be true soldiers in his army. Are you going to be a soldier for Christ? If so, confess your sins.
