Hey everybody, it's Josh and Steph with ResortTV1.
We are staying this weekend at Pop Century Resort and we're going to take
you on a quick tour of the resort. We hope you enjoy.
Pop Century of course has every decade from
the 50s to the 90s, but that awesome Corvette there, I think that's from the
2015 era. Pretty cool though anyway. You can see off in the distance here
the very busy bus loading area. Pop Century,
one of the bigger Disney resorts and so bus
transportation, this being the only bus stop, it does get very very crowded at
the bus stops, but a lot of times they have buses coming at
regular intervals so it makes it pretty easy to get a bus
most of the time. Pretty cool golf cart based on the 57 Chevy here, it looks like.
Steph was telling me, I didn't see this, there are years at the top here, like
We've got an 8-track collection here. I didn't know there was a portable 8-track
player. There's your Mickey phone.
distant eyeball, actually it's the 90s. Oh there's the essential oils booth for
Steph likes essential oils and we've been kind of into them, so if you guys
haven't checked that out, there's a lot of good information about them on the
internet, but we've been using them for a while.
Then we've got a roller blades and snowboard, which when we lived up in
Indiana, we were able to use the snowboard every
once in a while because we'd kill ourselves there. Then we finish up the 90s with
the ever popular cassette tape adapter there where you can plug your
CD player into the cassette tape player in the car because you know you didn't
have a CD player in the car yet.
As we head into the 50s here, you see these giant bowling pins around the
stairwells, which is really neat. Each building has sayings from that
decade on it, so we'll see some of them. You can see the clouds have parted a
little bit, so we've got nice blue skies here in
Orlando, which is always great for video.
You can see the little radios and records and things along the
railings. This is the Lady in the Tramp area, so here we got Tramp here,
very very tall. In the 50s, there are three buildings
and there's a bowling pin shaped pool in the middle.
And here's Lady. A giant jukebox across the way here.
You can kind of see the shape of the bowling pin pool here.
The laundry building looks like bowling shoe rental cubbies.
Pretty neat touches on some of these pools. You can kind of see some of the
songs available on the fake jukebox here.
Another one of these bowling pin staircases here. They're on the end
of every building, so we won't show all of them, but they are
pretty ingenious. You see Lady down there at the end.
And as we head into the 60s, the stairwells are
huge Duncan yo-yos. Very creative. You can see the flowers on the railings.
As we pan over into the pool area, which we'll check out next,
the Hippie Dippie Pool to be exact.
And here's a great view of the Hippie Dippie Pool.
Sorry about the sun, it's about three o'clock, so it may be hard to see some of it.
And right next to the pool is the Petals Bar, which is a lot of fun
and great drinks.
And we've got Baloo and Mogul here. Part of the 60s still.
Gigantic Play-Doh. Didn't know that came out in the 60s, but that's pretty awesome.
And we've got a little kiddie pool area, which is currently unoccupied.
Another shot of one of the yo-yo staircases here.
And directly across from Pop Century is the Art of Animation Resort.
Sorry we're looking into the sun a little bit, but there's a bridge
over the Hourglass Lake, I think that's what it's called.
And it's an easy walk over there, so we'll cover that in another video.
And over there across the lake is the Little Mermaid section.
There's several different neat areas in that resort.
And back at the pool again. Just looking across to the main building,
Classic Hall, as well as the food court there.
Well here we are in our room at Disney's Pop Century Resort.
Gonna continue our tour of the resort here.
We wanted to show you the room pre-move-in so that
you could see what it looks like when it's all made up.
And we're in the 70s section here, although I'm not sure
the decor is that much different. I guess we've got a 70s
picture over here on the wall with 70s memorabilia.
Looks like some opening of Disney World stuff. You've got the Contemporary and
the Little Pendant and all that fun stuff there.
And as we come into the 70s, the stairwells are eight-track tapes.
It's pretty neat. Anybody remembers those?
And the back of each tape has several different songs listed on it, and they're
which is pretty awesome. And next to that is a giant foosball
table, which you can actually walk through.
gateway to the 80s. And the 80s stairwells are Rubik's Cube,
which is pretty awesome. And you can see along the railings of
the building, Pac-Man. You see it a little better when we go
further in. Looks like that one's almost, or has won
Rabbit. There in the distance, you can see the
computer pool, which has elements of the 80s
and the 90s. The laptop is 90s, and the pool, I think, is
part of the 80s. There's Roger Rabbit again.
And you can see the giant Walkman there, and huge computer keyboard.
See the huge stack of floppy disks there? And over there,
the laundry slash restroom area looks like a, actually a computer
unit, like the tower. And you can see the 90s
here again at the end, where they're always keeping it real.
You can see on the screen, Disney's Animal Kingdom opens today
And this is why I love Disney, the connections. I mean, they're not exact.
And the stairwells for the 90s are big cell phones in the 90s style,
the pull-up antennas, and of course, the phone number being dialed. It's 407 W
Disney, the Disney Reservations number. Looks like
they've got full power here. And that's it, guys. I hope you enjoyed
the video. Be sure to like, comment, and subscribe for more.
