Disney Destiny Travel Day - Brightline Experience & Pier 66 Hotel!

Hey everybody, it's Josh with Resort TV1 and I am here at the Bright Line station getting ready to go on my Disney Destiny cruise. It's my first time on the Bright Line. So, I thought I would kind of uh show you the experience a little bit and uh talk about my first experience with the Bright Line. So, let's go. So, first of all, the security process obviously I can't show, but was super quick and super easy. There's no taking your shoes off. There's no uh you know checking liquids and all that kind of stuff. So, so much easier. So, uh, that part of it definitely a lot different than air travel. And by necessity, I understand, of course, on a train is way different than on a plane. But it's really nice, modern, new, and just very sleek. So, there you go. And we've even got Bright Line merch here. And you probably already saw, but of course, there is a nice little shop here uh with the essentials. If you want chips and snacks and drinks and stuff to take with you on the train, you can definitely do that. So, and there's a little bar here if you want to get a drink or watch the game. So, that's nice. Got some mileages here. All the stops along the way. We're going to be going to Fort Lauderdale. 204 miles. It's definitely pretty crowded around boarding time. It's very similar to boarding a plane. You got to wait till they open the gate. They're doing premium boarding now. All right. So, we are above the platform right now. We've got to go down these escalators to get to track one. There's two tracks, track one and two. You just have to pay attention to which side to go on. There we go. >> There's the train. Be my first time ever riding a passenger train that wasn't just for entertainment purposes. Be fun. Like I've done, you know, sightseeing trains and stuff, but never actually a transportation train. Oh, wow. A lot longer than you think. I'm in coach 8. So, we got to go down this way. So this is the platform and this is the uh boarding area. So how fun. Made it to coach eight. This train is pretty long. So here's the look at between the cars. There we are. Restrooms of course are on board if you're wondering. And they are wheelchair accessible it looks like. Right. Found my seat out the window. a lot more leg room than a plane for sure. >> Oh, and one more thing, if you're wondering, there are power outlets, one for each seat. So, that is super helpful. So, you can plug in your laptop and work or just play. All right, here we go. [Music] [Music] Definitely closer to full speed now. It looks like like a decent highway speed. [Music] Welcome to West Palm Beach. All right, we're approaching the stop and we are getting ready to get off here to Fort Lauderdale. >> All right, here we are in Fort Lauderdale. Boy, this one's like right downtown. You can see downtown very clearly and it's much closer than Orlando is to downtown. So nice station and uh it's a very smooth trip overall. There's another shot of the train outside the Bright Line station, waiting for my lift to take me to the hotel. And yeah, it was a really, really great ride. Actually, highly recommended, super smooth, not that loud and uh it was just super comfortable. So, uh the stops were really quick. Um we made a a stop along the way at uh West Palm Beach, and that was fast. It was literally a 2-minute stop. So, uh, they're very efficient about getting people on and off at the shorter stops as opposed to, you know, the end of the line is probably a little bit longer, but, um, just, yeah, I would do that again for sure. Highly recommended. Uh, very professional, easy in, easy out. Security was easy. Uh, yeah, everything about that was super easy and super comfortable. So, Bright Line, two thumbs up. >> There it is. >> Well, I made it here to the Pier 66 hotel. Just got checked in. It's a beautiful place. Really close to the water here. Looks like Oh, they got an adult pool out there. And a bar that's kind of raised above everything. And a little uh looks like a coffee shop lounge over here. Really nice. Got to go find my room. It's a really cool area here. It's kind of around the circle. There's the media hospitality room. So, here we are on the fifth floor and I can see it. The Disney Destiny. It's right there. Wow. We're going to be on that beautiful ship tomorrow. It looks like they're already testing the LCD screen there of the big giant LCD wall on the smoke stack. I cannot wait to get on board tomorrow. And on the other side, you got a view of the water there. It's pretty nice. Some yachts. Really, really nice. All right, here I am in the room. This looks pretty nice. Looks like a really great view over there. There goes the door. Oh, wow. It's very nice accommodations here. Yeah, I like it. Very well decorated. Looks like a great view out here to the marina. Wow. You can see Fort Lauderdale back there. Beautiful pool down there. Of course, it's not the nicest day. It's a little bit of a cloudy, stormy day, but it's a really, really nice hotel. I like it. I like the style. Here's a view from the balcony. See the pool down there. Nobody's in there because of the weather, but this is a really neat place. It does remind me of kind of the South Florida style. Of course, it is in South Florida, but this uh, you know, kind of Miami style, almost old Florida kind of art deco sort of in a way. It's pretty neat. I like it. I do see some cruise ships over there. Of course, I can't see the Destiny from here, but I could see it, of course, earlier from the other side of the hotel, but it's pretty awesome. So, time to unpack, get settled, maybe get charged up a little bit and uh go see if I can get something to eat, meet some friends, and uh just relax for a little bit and get ready for tomorrow. So, I'm excited. But what a great trip on the Bright Line. Nice hotel, and so far the trip is off to a great start. Just got checked in at the media reception desk there and uh got our credentials. Those are pretty cool. I got one for Jenna, too, even though she couldn't make it. So, you can see it's Hercules sometimes and Hades sometimes. So, it depends. Are you a hero or a villain? That's super cool. And then I got the Disney Destiny Magic Band Plus there. That looks really, really nice as well. Wow. Yep. A lot of people are going to be getting that when they get on board as well, I would think. So, a lot of amazing opportunities coming and it's always exciting to get the credentials. These are really nice, too. Very uh nice material. Almost the same type of uh vinyl material that's on a Loungefly. So, that's fun. All right. Can't wait. Now, I got to go find some dinner. Well, the weather's cleared out a little bit, so looks really nice there. What a great view. This is a really nice resort. And there's actually apparently condos in here too. But wow, you can see the cruise ships over there. The Destiny is just I believe it's actually just on the other side of this building. That's why we can't see it right now. But yeah, this is a this is a very very peaceful view for the evening. As I'm heading down to dinner, I see some ships going out to sea there. Wow. Place has a really nice pool area. And if I didn't mention this before, I think I did, but it's Pier 66. If you'd like to come check it out, you can actually see the name on the building right there. Very quickly, I have found a beautiful view of the marina here. Wow. So, I had an amazing dinner and just taking a walk here down by the marina, but I wanted to show the Pier 66 hotel here. And that's actually a restaurant up there on the 17th floor with some panoramic views there. Unreal. And this neighborhood around here, too. Got yachts parked in front of houses and all these houses on waterways. It's pretty unreal, actually. It's a very peaceful walk down here, though. Some incredible, incredible ships. The yacht ships, I I guess boats, ships, whatever. They're awesome. Really nice view of the Destiny. Got the drawbridge coming up. You can probably hear the wind, but wow, what a beautiful site. See you tomorrow, Destiny. So, I wanted to show you guys this real quick. It's actually a replica of the Jaws of Boat. We're going to need a bigger boat. Actually, not that big of a boat. It's pretty cool. I don't know exactly the story behind it. There's nothing like written around it. There's no plaques or banners or anything talking about it, but I just heard some people in the restaurant behind me talking about it, so I wanted to show that. It is really cool. It's a very, very good replica of the boat. Um, apparently there's not very many. There's only like two or three at the most. You can see it swaying there with the water. But yeah, it's uh pretty cool to see that out here in the marina. So, a little bit of Jaws right here in Fort Lauderdale. Also, here's another cool angle of the resort. Be cool to try out that restaurant on the top floor. One of these days, I think you have to have reservations, but looks amazing. And back in the room after a nice walk. Beautiful evening. On my balcony. What a view. Okay, this room is a lot more high-tech than I thought. Next to the bed, there are these big panels that have all these switches on them. And one of them is to close the uh curtains and things. So, here, if I push this one, it'll close the drapes. That's so fun. You can just do that from over here at your bed. Now, that's luxury right there. By the way, the bathroom in this hotel is kind of insane. It's a giant shower there, but uh the star of the show is the electronic toilet here where you I think it see if you walk in here and wake it up, it it comes up by itself there. So, that's fun. I don't usually make toilet content, but you know. And then there's a whole assortment of things that it can do as a bedet. So that is h quite interesting. I'm still sitting here enjoying my amazing view on this lovely evening here in Fort Lauderdale. It's about 77° right now. It's about 9:15 and just uh have been relaxing and enjoying all of the beautiful views here. And I think I'm going to go ahead and end this video here on my travel day. So, this will just be travel day and Bright Line Experience and this amazing hotel and all the things that we did here just on this beautiful relaxing travel day Sunday. So, I hope you enjoyed it. I hope you enjoyed coming along with me and uh experiencing the Bright Line with me for my first time. Highly recommend it. Again, it was an amazing experience. everybody uh involved with that organization should be proud. It's a great great service, great transportation option. It's just so easy. So, really enjoyed it. The turnpike is great, but honestly, it's nice not to have to drive and worry about traffic or anything like that and just sit back and relax a little bit, too. So, definitely enjoyed it. Highly recommended. And also, highly recommend the Pier 66 hotel. What a great place. Honestly, really enjoy it. By the way, those are residences over there. So, if you um have the budget for it and uh you want to move in, you can be close to your yacht down there, which is fun. So, definitely uh check that out if you get a chance because uh you know, you never know when you might like to live in a high-rise place like this in uh Fort Lauderdale. So, I guess not really a high-rise, but beautiful uh condos there right on the water. So, it's pretty fun. Anyway, I hope you've enjoyed this video and the travel.
