We Fell Out...The Biggest Fight of our Relationship in 12 Years

We probably had the biggest argument that we've ever had. I can't let things go. Why are you bringing all this back up to the biggest clash between the two of us I would say. Good morning guys. Welcome to the vlog. Today is a who on earth. We've taken about six wrong turns and he blames the fact that the sat-nav's not talking to him. I'm not sure when he turned into an 80 year old man. Even though it was. It was. But the volume was just too low. I couldn't hear it. So we've done like several missed turns already. It took us an hour and a half longer than it was meant to to leave the house. It's tipping it down with rain. It looks like night time. Actually it doesn't on the camera but in real life it's very dark. But the kids are both asleep in the back which is a bonus. Every time you're taking your turn you'll go it didn't say that. But I just don't think you're very good at reading maps. I think this is the issue. I thought you did Duke of Edinburgh all those years ago. I did. I did bronze. You did a bronze one. That's why it says it all. Had you got to a gold then. We might be in a different situation right now. But anyway welcome back to the vlog. The last few weeks have been interesting and I'm just going to touch on it very briefly now. But before I say everything obviously we're very grateful for the position we're in. And this isn't just like moaning and being ungrateful at all. But in our life and our reality right now we are drowning. It just feels like there's been no space to breathe. And obviously it's probably a combination of having two kids. But it's also the fact that we're now back to work fully. Things are ramping back up. I don't know. We've taken on a lot. We've taken on too much. I don't remember the last time we had an evening together. We'll literally get both kids to sleep. Washington and Birmingham kind of stays up till we go to bed. And we're just working into the evenings. We're having calls with brands in the evenings. Which is obviously a positive thing in terms of business and like that kind of side. But life side we both were just completely burnt out. We're arguing with each other more than normal. We're on shorter fuses. I suppose we're getting a bit tenchy shall we say. This short. Maybe even smaller. Maybe like that short. And we're very aware of it. Like we're very communicative with each other. We're very vocal. We say exactly what we're thinking and how it is. So it's not like we're just not realising what's going on. We're very aware that we're burnt out. It's happened many times in our lives and our careers. This just feels like a big burnout. Happens every so often. And it hasn't happened for ages. I feel like it's not happened for ages. But anyway. Today hopefully we're going to be turning that around. We're actually going on a little trip. We're heading to a really cool place with these cabins right by the beach. In the middle of nowhere. We're going to switch off apart from vlogging. But this is going to be like a fun vlog of our trip. So it doesn't feel like work. And I think it's really needed right now. I'm starving. I've just realised how hungry I am. We've still got an hour until our lunch stop. And that's savage. Because if there was food in front of me right now I'd be demolishing it. But yeah just putting out there. If you're fully burnt out. Stop what you're doing right now. And make a plan to help yourself. Book a trip. Take a day out of your calendar just to do something for you. Go for a walk for yourself. Cook yourself a nice meal. Watch something on TV. And I mean I'm giving out all the advice. I should have taken this advice three weeks ago when we first started feeling like this. But finally we are here and we are doing something for us. So yeah. That is the plan for the next couple of days. And we're going to film a video of the whole trip. It's a really cool place. They've got like a swimming pool. I can't wait. I'm very very excited. But for now we are heading to McDonald's. Comment below your McDonald's order. So let me put your shoes on. Which was months and months ago. I can't remember where we... We're on the way to somewhere. Coda's only had like four in his life. We don't make it a habit. But on a road trip it is quite fun. So here we are. Some big services. I don't even know where we are. Folkestone. Folkestone services. So if anyone's been here. We've now been here too. Oh big door. Okay we have ordered our food. And I want to show you this quickly because this is not only our car seat for this trip but also our buggy for Remy and it's absolutely genius. It saves so much time. I was going to film it out the front a second ago but it was tipping down rain so I just did it. But I'll show you it the other way around when we get back to the car. But it's basically this part's a car seat and then it's got wheels attached to the bottom so all you have to do is one click pull it up and it turns into a buggy. And for us travelling it's just going to save so much time isn't it? It's so good. If you want to stay asleep you can stay asleep in the car seat and we can extend it out so it can be more flat. And it just feels like having to faff and having extra buggies and stuff with us. So this is it as a car seat like this and then you put him on the floor out of the car. Pull this little handle around here literally one lever it releases it. Yeah thankfully that extends because otherwise that'd be a bit low for me. It's so good. Highly recommend. Genius. We were not ready for that and I'm already feeling slightly calmer. Very windy. Slightly. The drive was actually quite challenging. It was very rainy. Couldn't see anything. But we arrived to let me show you. Let's do a quick weather check. So quick weather check because I said recently we'd bring these back to the vlogs. Once the camera's exposure decides to join me. I have to say it's very peaceful. The rain's just started so it's incredibly cozy. We've just got the door open. The beach behind us. Coda's doing some playing down here. I've got some food I'm gonna make soon for some dinner. But we're just deciding. There's a shop here we want to go and have a look at. There's a beach in front of us we want to go for a walk in. And there's a swimming pool behind us. So we want to kind of explore a bit. Like a little shop? Yeah like a food shop darling. There's little food bits in there. Should we go and have a look? Yeah. So when the rain stops. I mean is it raining now? Maybe it's stopped. It's a bit on and off today. It's a bit strange. So when we get a chance we're gonna go over there. Oh yeah. But tomorrow it's so exciting because we don't have any plans. We're just gonna stay here and just go to the beach and the pool all day. And it's been so long since we've had a day without like a schedule and a list of things to get through. I cannot wait. I'd like to go darling would you? We'll see if it's open shall we? So whilst we are here there was something I wanted to talk about. Which is a new shopping platform that's recently come to the UK. And it's called Joybuy. And I'm gonna be placing an order here today. Because there's some bits I wanted to pick up for the house. And I'm going to show you the whole process. Because there's some really fun bits on there. So I've just put the order through and it's literally arriving tomorrow. Apple Pay. Got that through. Waiting for payment. Done. Payment successful. I'm a very impatient person. So having it literally next day is just so handy for me. Once I've got my mind set on something and there's something I want to get. Next day delivery on these homeware bits couldn't be happier. George is especially excited for something that is for him. Which involves cooking and food and home appliances. He's nodding his head. Do you remember what it is? Did you order that for me? The rice cooker? Yes. Okay. We have one in the Philippines. We haven't had one in the UK yet. I am the worst person ever at cooking rice. Speaking about this on my Instagram the other day. One of my followers said to get a rice cooker. I was like obviously. We have one in the Philippines. I don't know why we've not ever had one in the UK. But this is really cool. Everyone in the UK just uses a pan. Yeah but anyway we don't need to worry about it now. Because we've got a rice cooker going. So there's so many different things. There's like homeware, snacks, lifestyle bits. Some really lovely like home decor pieces. There's actually a tablecloth I'm going to order. I'm getting ready for the change of seasons. A festive period. The autumnal period. I'm actually quite excited to discover Joybuy. Because it literally only launched in the UK in September. So I feel very new to the game. And it's really exciting to be working with them. Like right at the start of their UK launch. They chose us to spread the word that they exist. And when the pieces arrive I'm also going to be filming a little haul in this video. Okay so I've literally just had a notification. The order has already been shipped. And I only made the order. I don't know. So it's 10.54 when this email came through. And I made the order at 9.09. So pretty speedy. Okay we're all unpacked. Can you lock the door in? Starting to relax. Should we leave this actually? It's warm. Leave that. It's warm. That'll do. Coda has just spotted some rabbits. So he's running off into the fields. You think they're hares? Look at the reflection in the window. That's so cool. This place is lovely. Cold plunge bucket. Yeah there's a cold plunge. Which I'm tempted to do but also... Also terrified. Can I lock the door? That's the question. But we are gonna go to the shop. See if there's any, I don't know, little Netflix snacks for this evening or something. Coda come and look at this. This is just Coda's absolute dream. Just outdoors, animals. He's seen some rabbits over here. And now I'm feeling like a terribly irresponsible parent because this is actually full of little rabbit holes. And I do not want him to fall in. No don't go in. Do you know who lives down there? Who lives in there? Yeah so actually why don't we... Let's not walk on their home. Let's not walk on the rabbit's house. Mummy's found something cool. Boink boink boink. Good boy. Look at that. That is a great view of our cabin. And then just over here there is a sauna area and a cold plunge area. Little seating area here. And yeah okay mummy's found the hot tubs. Let's go and have a look. It's actually not for kids but you can have a little look. Yeah come with me. Okay so this is the cold plunge just in there. You can just have a little look but don't go in. I'm just gonna feel it. Oh okay it's not... It's cold. Don't get me wrong it's cold. Oh the hot tub's nice and warm yeah. So we might book in. Obviously we can't all go to the hot tubs. Coda don't go in there mate. So that is a cold plunge. It's a really really really cold bath. You can feel it. People. Grown-ups. That is really cold. That's why it's just for grown-ups. They've got a sauna here. It currently says out of use. I actually want to start doing some sauna. Apparently it's really good for like after the gym and recovery and stuff. Well you can't go in my darling. It's just grown-ups this one. But we can have a look. Look at that. Feel warm? Oh yeah that's lovely. When we were on our cruise. Yeah do you remember going in this on the cruise? Oh we can have one. Oh that one's not on actually. But oh look some people have just come out of here. There's some drinks on the side. Amazing. Yeah we obviously can't all go in together. Remy and Coda etc. But we can book an hour slot. We get a complimentary hour basically. So we were thinking we could swap halfway maybe. If Remy... Oh no not that one. This way. That's it. So windy. So here they have a kind of small coffee shop and a bar. And apparently here in the mornings they have fresh pastries. So we may have to do that. And then here they have a small shop. Oh mummy's not here. So apparently we're now going swimming. That shop was really nice. We did get some treats for tonight. Some Netflix snacks. We've said this so many times. It's almost like we have to justify ourselves. It's really dark here hang on. That's better. It's almost like we have to justify every time we eat bad food. But honestly it's just when we vlog for some reason is when we have bad food. Up here. Little shelf. Perfect perfect vlog position. We've got some Tony's chocolate elite and some candy kittens. So after Lucy cooks up a delicious dinner later on we are sorted. But for now I'm a bit nervous because I think the pool is going to be absolutely freezing. But the plan is to now go for a swim. Like the holiday when we go in the swimming pool. And it's really cool. And the bath when we go in it's really cold. And also also also. And then when we just go in the little pool it was really warm when we go back in the big pool. And also it is really good. And also I had so much fun when it was really warm. I really got amazing and they're really yummy. It's good. Bye. Is it? Do you want to talk about dinner? We've got pasta for dinner and we're going to eat it. If we're eating. Finish. I don't. And all the money and I have money. Surprise. Dinner is ready. Lucy has made our famous spaghetti bolognese. This is just oh it's so good. It's like restaurant quality. Whenever she makes this I'm honestly just in heaven because we often eat separately. Because at the moment I'm doing like my own thing with food and nutrition and the gym and stuff. So Lucy hasn't been cooking for me for like months now. So this is a oh it's so heavy. This is a real treat. Also just quickly kind of elaborating on what Lucy was talking about at the start of today's vlog. I've just noticed my heart rate since being here is a lot lower than it has been at home over the last few weeks. By the way ignore my hair. I've shampooed and conditioned so it's an absolute fluff ball. Anyway recently treated myself to a garmin which I'm absolutely loving. So this is tracking like my sleep, my heart rate, my steps, my calories burned. Do I want garlic bread? Yes please. It's a joke. Oh I thought you'd... About to be another argument. Yeah this has been really good for me. But at home I've been noticing my heart rate's been around like 80 or 90. Just when I'm working in the day or whatever just going through the day. I was sat over there looking out the window listening to the radio just with Remy on my lap earlier. 51. If that doesn't tell me that I needed this trip or needed to come here and just do something different. Get out of the usual routine for a little while. I don't know what does. And I've always found YouTube a good place to talk about this stuff because I don't know like an Instagram story or Instagram reel or something. You can't really... I feel like you guys who are watching these vlogs know us and you guys like see our lives or have done for years and years and like see all the kind of ups and downs we go through and all the different things. So every now and then I do like to document how I'm like really truly feeling online. And yeah it has been... Hasn't even been a struggle. Hasn't even been difficult. It's just been... We've just noticed symptoms. It's not even like we've been not enjoying the day-to-day because we really have. We've been like really enjoying family life, really enjoying work life, taking a load of work projects on, working a lot like every spare minute because we love to. We've been enjoying it but then we notice the burnout symptoms. So it's not like we're like having really bad days and we're feeling down and depressed and sad. It's not that at all. It's the opposite during the day. We're like running and running and running and running but then the cause of that like it's coming out in different ways. Like yeah bickering. My patience has been on the floor. I'm not like the most patient person ever but I feel like my patience recently has just been zero. Like the tiniest thing will just push me over and I'm getting like irritated and aggravated more than usual. So yeah we're very self-aware and by the way we haven't obviously... We've spoken about this like offline at length before just bringing it to the vlog. I don't know. I sometimes watch other people and they talk about things they're experiencing and sometimes it helps. Sometimes you're going through something that you might see someone else kind of talk about or talk about a similar thing and it might just help improve your day slightly just to know that other people are experiencing like having the human experience. That's what this is all about and I don't want people to ever kind of watch our videos like popping up once a week of like a lovely family day we're having and people to think that we don't go through things that other people go through. Whether that's up here, whether that's to do with parenting. Just remember these videos. Short snippet. It's the highlights. It's the nice bits. It's the stuff we choose to film. I don't think you've probably never seen Koda cry or have a tantrum on the vlog because we just would never film that. So yeah something to keep in mind when you're watching people online. I am now gonna eat my dinner because I've realised I've been rambling on and this beautiful meal is sat behind me so we're gonna get this in. I honestly feel like the weather has just been perfect for this trip so far because being in like a cosy cabin in September as the weather's sort of turning and it's raining and you can hear it on the roof but then we've actually got a bit of sunshine now. I've just put a jumper on and I don't know if I'm actually gonna be too warm in this because I've got Remy strapped to me but we're now gonna head for a little walk behind us along the beach and just around the general grounds because Koda needs to burn some energy. He has had a lovely morning playing but you know when there's like a turning point and he's definitely done with being inside. He wants to get outdoors, wants to do some running around so we're gonna do that now and then the plan for this afternoon I think is swimming and then we've actually got a session in the hot tub booked for later on as well so lots of activities to come but yeah so nice to be here and did we show the breakfast? I showed the breakfast but it was lovely. I don't think I said what it was like but it was delicious. Let's get this on shall we. Everyone's going because we're all going. Hey, wait for us. I feel like this year more than ever people are acknowledging autumn. I don't know if it's just the people we watch online or the people we follow you like do get into like little echo chambers but everyone is talking about since like the first of September in the UK a switch has been pressed and it was like summer and then instantly autumn. Last day of August, still summer. First day of September, rain, clouds, leaves falling. It's been literally like a switch has been switched on and so many people are embracing it and we're going to include ourselves in that. Lucy and I love this time of year. We love autumn, we love going for walks when it's like muddy and a little bit rainy and wrapping up. We love like Halloween and Christmas especially Christmas but my point is with the weather changing so quickly I didn't pack correctly for this trip. All I've got is this is the warmest thing I have which is like a long sleeve white tee and it's pretty cold and windy today. However, our cabin is there. It's where we're staying and the beach is here. So that is how close. That's why they call it cabin by the sea. I now understand. Wow! And this is where I'm going to run either today or tomorrow morning. I'm going to run. I'm going to actually test out my Garmin because this watch has like GPS and stuff. Let's do park run, yeah! Koda's off already. I haven't yet used my watch for the actual GPS tracking because I do most of my running in the gym on the treadmill but I've been using it for lifting weights as well. It like tracks your sets and your rest times and I even set it up for swimming. Put the swimming mode on when I just did a couple of lengths in the pool with Koda yesterday. This watch. It's taken over. It's so annoying. Every single person you've met for the last week you've gone into detail about your watch. They haven't asked you. Have I told you about my Garmin? It's off. That was so cool. I felt like we were doing some like challenge. Me and my boy. That is actually a testament to our parenting outdoorsyness. As in like he wasn't fazed by that. He just found it quite fun. Of course I can. I think we needed that. That was hilarious. It was quite fun. It was literally like we've seen a tornado come towards us. Like it was just black clouds and you could see it. It was coming from the distance. Oh my goodness. Just a blast of the elements to wipe, wash everything away. Quite symbolic actually. Okay, I'm marking that as a fresh start. That was the most symbolic thing ever. It's like the relationship gods just said. George and Lucy, sort it out. Sort your lives out a little bit. Here's a blast of rain. Just there you go. Clear everything away. This trip so far has been exactly what we need. We were not expecting sunshine and rainbows. We did see the weather forecast. And yeah, that was actually a lot of fun. Although my heart rate is back up to 90. Do we get any steps in? I wonder what it was. I should have looked at it after the other day. Are we going to mention that or not? What's that? The other day. There's not that much to say now. We've moved on. Oh my goodness. Guys, we probably had the biggest... That probably was the... We've been together for how many? 12 years? Nearly 12. Nearly 12 years. That was probably the biggest argument or bicker session that we've ever had. Like Lucy and I, we're very lucky. We don't have these massive arguments. We don't fall out for like days. It's just like little things we argue about. Yeah, oh yeah. Things throughout the day. Like the other day, this was no different. We had this... I mean, this lasted like nearly the whole day, I would say. Neither of us let go. We didn't, no. We were both stubborn. Comment below, who's the most... In your relationship, if you have one, who's stubborn? Yourself or your partner? I would say... No one's going to say themselves. Everyone's going to be like my partner. That is very true. But I have the self-awareness to say that I know I'm stubborn. If I get into like... I'm like, oh, I'm... Even if I've got over it, I'm like, oh, we're bickering at the moment. So I can't be nice to you. I think you're a wind-up and you say things... I am a wind-up. Ask my sisters. I can't let things go until we've spoken through it. So like we do clash with each other. This is how we're different in arguments. Lucy will want to talk things through. But I view... This is what happened the other day, actually. It was about something so small and insignificant, not even worth... It wouldn't make sense if I mentioned it because you'd need so much backstory. But anyway, it was about something tiny and insignificant. Not important at all. But Lucy has to talk things through for like a long period of time to get past like a bicker or an argument. I would rather say, okay, move on. And that is what causes the biggest clash between the two of us, I would say. I would say it's not even the argument itself. It's trying to find the resolution. Exactly, yeah. Coming to an agreement. Oh, it's just funny. I just imagine watching these vlogs back in like 30 years when I'm 45. But when Lucy wants to talk things through, I view that as her bringing it all back up. So I'm like, we're kind of all right. Why are you bringing all this back up? Because she'll wait. She'll like do it later in the evening. Because if I try and do it at the time, you won't listen because you're all heated. Yeah, true. But we'll get over it. We'll like have a nice day. And then later that evening, she'll be like, let's talk about earlier. I'm like, why? We're fine now. Why are we bringing this back up? Oh, the battery's flashing on this camera. We must've been vlogging a ton. I'm going to put this camera on charge. We're going to have a little cozy cabin afternoon seeing as we can't now go outside. We were going to swim again, but I don't think we'll be able to. I really, really want to edit some videos. We've got a couple of vlogs to edit. I want to edit this vlog. But we're trying to switch off a little bit. Trying to unburn out. We're trying to deburn. Unburn. Need some aloe vera. And look at that. Yeah, we need some after sun. We need some after sun. For the burnout. That's what we need to get out of that, I swear. What? I just asked her to open this. And I was like, no, don't worry. I quickly asked her again. It's just like indecisive British people. Dakota convinced us to get him an ice cream. And after 10 minutes of deliberation, he went for a classic Magnum. How is it, mate? Had him? Good. But George and I, we're staying here. We've both got a hot tub booked for tonight, separately in here. And you may have seen the clip a minute ago. We had Wagyu Beef Burgers for dinner with smoked cheese, smoked cheddar, and this wild garlic sauce, which is delicious. And yeah, now we're just having a stroll before bedtime. This guy was up very early and went to bed very late. So we need to have an early night for him tonight. These clouds look like Toy Story clouds. They don't look real. And this is happening. Guys, go, go, go. Run. Daddy, run. Another morning here. I, yeah, I've woken up. The boys have had a bit of a cold recently. And I seem to have now got it myself. However, we move along. It is a beautiful morning here. It is 5.30 a.m. It's not really good. Koda and I were up at 5 a.m. It was a bit cold, but now it's warmed up. It is 8 a.m. We've come down for a swim. I'm going to sit with Remy on the side. And I've just picked up some coffee and croissants. So Koda's having a pre-swim pan of chocolate. How's the chocolate croissant? Nice. Remy is here, all wrapped up. Bless him and give him a little bounce. Keep him happy. He's out the sun, but I am in the sun. This is a beautiful start today, isn't it, Koda? Driving home in a bit. So we're going to finish up our swim, make a little bit breakfast, pack up and hit the road. But feeling, oh, this is so nice because it was so windy the whole time we've been here. But this morning, it's still, it's calm, it's sunny. It's pure blue skies. Okay, we're home. Hence the noisy washing machine being on. Well, let me sit down. We've just done the massive, like, load of unpacking. Suitcases are all away. It was a two hour, two and a half hour drive home and we didn't stop. We got all the way home with Remy asleep the whole time. Koda slept about two hours of it, which he doesn't even nap anymore. So I think he had such a good holiday and time there. So tiring from all the activities that he actually had a solid sleep, which means he won't sleep tonight. But at least we had a nice, smooth journey back. And literally, as we were unpacking, we got a knock at the door and my delivery I made yesterday at the accommodation arrived. This dress very unintentionally matches the pictures here. We're kind of coming into autumn and the coziness of this on the sofa in the evening, this is so snug. Love the edge as well here. Very lovely throw. This is by Yard. It's actually slightly cellular, so it's a little bit holey. And I thought this would look really nice sort of draped over the sofa or even on our bed, it could look quite cool up here. This is lovely. Very pleased with that one. I mean, this is just in the box that it came in, so you can already read what it is. Rice cooker. Now, I don't know how we've lived in the UK for this long and not bought one yet because we did have one out when we lived in Asia for a while. It was fine. It worked perfectly. But this one is a bit more high-tech. So very high-tech. I thought that was a hairbrush when I first saw it. I assume it's something to like, something to do with the rice. Little button here. Close it. Pops open. All the packages actually came at the same time as well, which was handy. So another sort of autumn-winter theme thing. I got this. We've got a massive table and the idea with this is that I want it to only cover, like if you imagine that's the table, instead of it covering the whole thing, I want it to go like this way so you can still see some of our lovely wood either side. It's this beautiful, kind of a bit farmhouse-y, like Christmas in the farmhouse. This is definitely going to be on the Christmas table this year. It's just beautiful. It's nice and thick, white and red. Gingham pattern. That with like candles on top. Then I also grabbed a knife sharpener. Random. It's one of those things. The other day I tried to use our knife to cut a watermelon and it was really blunt. Inspired me to pick one up because you gotta have sharp knives. They have got food bits on there like I said earlier. So we've got this caramelised onion paste. Really nice brand as well. Bellazu. I don't know if that's how you say it but they've got some great olive oil and stuff. I like them as a brand. Salt and pepper roasted nut mix. Andy dark chocolate almonds. Divine 70% with mint. I like a weekday trip because then you get the weekend afterwards to kind of get back to normal before starting your week again on Monday. And there's something quite fun about that.
