#JoeJonas discusses his upcoming new album 'Music for People Who Believe in Love.
Now I heard this rumor that one of the singles on your album is called
What We Are and that your brother Nick wishes it was on his album. Is that true?
It is true. He loves that song. That's the goal. I think if you create something
that makes other artists jealous but especially siblings, then you're good.
Boom, I love that.
And that one I have featured Luisa Sanza, an amazing Brazilian artist.
And she and I got to work together on that song and I'm really excited for people to hear that too.
What's the difference between being in the studio with your brothers and like other producers and songwriters?
I mean, are you like kind of like finishing each other's sentences when you're with your brothers as opposed to like what's what is it like?
How does it differ?
I think the biggest difference is we're all in such different places in our lives, probably personally.
And so when we're in the studio, you have to really define what we are trying to share or showcase emotionally when it's just individually.
I think it's a lot easier to kind of steer the ship and say, OK, this is where I want to go.
And this is what I feel like musically I want to kind of explore.
When I started this project, it was from a writing camp that we had with the Jonas Brothers.
So I was working with Justin Trenner, who I've worked with in the past on a bunch of DNC songs.
Alexander 23 was my first time working with him.
He's a great artist. He's here right now.
And there's another artist, Bo and Blush.
And so we wrote a song called Only Love.
And after hearing and Nick and Kevin weren't a part of that writing session, they were in a different room.
So I kind of sat Nick and Kevin down, like, look, I love this song.
And yes, it would be a Great Brothers song, but I feel like I want to explore something on my own.
If I can get your blessing in there, Nick, Nick, I think said, like, well, I don't I get it.
I wish it wasn't this song, but it's fine.
And so with their blessing, I kind of explored.
So I think sometimes we know now, I think after doing it now some 20 some years later, we're able to to know when
when to when it's solo and when it's for the group.
Right. And I see the Jones Brothers songs coming up.
I mean, look at that.
