Oh yeah buddy!
That part is sick!
You okay buddy?
What's up everybody and welcome back the channel! For this week's video I've put together some of
the best trails I've ridden all shot in GoPro in one video and speaking about GoPro with the
code REMY10 you can save 10% on the entire GoPro website and if you want to support my channel
simply subscribe and you can find in the links in description all the products I'm riding and
when you buy them on Jenson USA using those links that support my channel. Now let's get onto the
Let's do it! The Awakener in Kasselgaard. We're gonna drop over a thousand meters of elevation
Wow that was cool
Yeah dude it's tight
Yeah we just rode another trail on that same mountain with Alex
The video is on my road channel and it was a completely different style of riding
Yeah dude
That was so sick
Yeah Alex got a really nice style and position on the bike so it's nice to see
I wish he would be a little bit a smaller guy that would make it easier for me to see the trail
This is epic! This is so sick!
Oh this is sick!
Oh skinny! Nice! Okay this one is not too bad
Hell yeah dude! Holy! That's the limit of my comfort zone
Okay that's about it. You're gonna see it's gonna get very different
Okay on to the goods
Nice! That dirt is so epic! On that sand you can only really use
just the rear brake. You don't really want to use that front brake
Upper Decker here in the Comox valley with Marc Mathieu. Let's shred! Yeah dude you ready? I'm ready
That track was a ton of fun this morning so we're back at it again
Nice! It's a very fun trail
You good? Wow that was quite the one footer
Yeah!
Whoa stop stop!
Yeah I'm riding too close. That was a sketchy entrance like I scrubbed a little hard on that
first jump. Yeah you got sketchy, I got sketchy. You know like I've done the trail only once before
yeah I was really close yeah I tried to be slightly offline from you
yeah so I could have visual point but as a result I picked up the wrong line
yeah yeah especially through here there's like two different lines and one's way worse than the other
well guess which one I took? Yeah that one. We're gonna make smarter decision now
so let's look at what happened. Well obviously I was offline. I managed to stay off the road garden
and as I was crashing I was trying to aim for something pretty soft so I saw this patch of dirt
and bush here but basically if I had stayed on the trail I would have been completely fine
but I was trying to have a slightly different line from Mark
just for perspective but also so I could see the terrain and I think I lost my balance here
my front wheel probably has cut that little stump here and well the rest was trying to survive but
I didn't make it happen so we're gonna go back again
and actually for the funny story or not so funny for me but
the first time and last time actually I rode with Mark Matthews was in the Whistler bike park
following each other down one of the easiest trails called Blue Velvet I was riding really
close trying to take a slightly different line I ended up drifting to the outside and I slid
and I broke my scapula against the rock I was like a pretty good fracture fortunately
it healed really well but since we haven't ridden together so yeah that was brutal I think
that's a good behind me and yeah you were gone and a little trail mellow morning just like one
of those bad luck situations yeah pretty hoping I had a flat tire or something but no that was
a trip at the hospital so I think that's two signs this today and three years ago so yeah
we're gonna we're gonna ride smarter now okay attempt number two compression here I'm gonna use
that outside line to spread out across this corner
nice that's a cool trail yo that's a cool gap
so
nice
yo yeah nice one
that's such a good track yo
yeah dude
this track is so fun
oh skinny
should I give you a heads up on this part yeah that's uh skinny right here I think skinny but
it's like kind of spooky all right to me to me it's skinny that's uh you know my comfort zone
not only skinnier yeah I was sick up there it's fun hey yeah okay following mark down the drop
and then let's go ride some tech
all good so I'm going a bit slower so I still scrub
nice man that dirt is good that was cool I know some of the landings are flat here
whoa
nice this is significantly more technical
so actually it was really smooth
nice
quite slippery here
and now hard on the brakes lots of front brake to slow down
all right my mark is gone you have to catch up
sick this is awesome
can't really see with those leaves so I'm careful not to clip something with my feet
definitely stole my speed here
drifting around yeah I did
that would have been a bad one I know
holy okay well onto dead dog the world's steepest track
and I talked a little bit too fast because it's definitely raining
oh yeah buddy
oh
whoa I forgot how steep and slippery that is
oh my god
you okay buddy you sure I can't stop you good yeah holy crap yeah
oh I was hoping it wasn't that wet already no it's uh yeah the rock
you sure you're okay I'm good bro wow yeah I just tried slowing down but there was
there was no swing I know
well hopefully once we're done with the rocks yeah okay well let's check the bike and go
so definitely gonna be careful
oh my god hopefully in the trees it's gonna be better
yeah no it's uh it's not safe
I know we were like literally 10 minutes too late
it's like oh
I mean it's hard park and
that's nuts yeah yeah I'm good I'm just a little bit upset to be honest
I'm gonna reset here and I broke my mudguard I broke not the mudguard actually but the zip ties
holding it
******* hell that's insane
does that give you a good indication if it's slippery or not
I really lost my confidence and my flow so I'm gonna test the traction and see how I feel
because here it looks perfect but obviously I know that that bottom section isn't
and it looks so easy
hey Alex it gets really slippery at that bottom section I think it's the fastest way down
nice this wasn't though
always important when looking at the line to make sure that the entrance is fast but most
important is the exit
I took a sneaky line here not sure if it was part of the race course or not
I mean now the condition look actually pretty perfect
it also might have rained much less here than it did on top
oh this section is fun I think we're getting close to the road gap
which I believe is closed right now yeah that's the start of the road gap
and last time I came here I saw a black bear
oh yeah road gap is closed that would have been a nice one
and into the pipe of the gully
oh there's no way I can catch up Alex
yeah that was awesome you're gonna love it let's do this I heard a lot about it I know
that the lower part which is Cambodia has been sanctioned recently so it's gonna be sick
this is typical shore with all the armoring all those uh wood
a bit junky but still flowy
wow holy that was sick I'm glad I didn't look at it before because
that's pretty rad I've been 10 years in Canada and uh I still haven't ridden some of those classics
yeah
that's epic wow oh that's a nice breath I wasn't that bad
wow that was less smooth
yo
that was sick yeah I saw the other gap you mentioned but that was quite a compression
that was actually really smooth
yeah that was good
oh that's cool
oh the trail is junky sometime when you only ride squamish you you forget
wow that was uh pretty hard yeah definitely thinking about the accident of Johan so
don't really feel like myself today
wow that was exactly what I didn't want to do I wanted to keep some momentum to keep stability
and I kind of came to a stop sooner than I was expecting and so as a result I kind of lost my
balance I made it smooth but I didn't feel flowy whatsoever but that'll be good for today tough
one to flow especially in this condition like having rained last night like it's drying out so
all the wood is as what slippery as it can be yeah like if it was raining right now we'll probably
get more traction 100 but yeah no I was expecting to carry more speed yeah so when I came to a stop
and that was my strategy to like jump into that compression to really be able to slow down right
but that kind of surprised me yeah and then I was like oh yeah I saw you do that and it just like
kind of pulled you into the next one yeah I was like okay well here here we are let's survive
I'll be good enough yeah
oh yeah
simo bike park
that's the end of new cambodia oh wow that was cool yeah man those berms are epic
okay let's shred shonigan lake pandemic so this place is exceptional the riding is great
the dirt is tacky the views are insane the rocks are fun and the climbing is not bad
especially on any bike
nice
and it feels like summer march 16th today
I was skiing a couple days ago and now biking in t-shirts
dude that's insane okay I really like that
I was told it's a little bit more natural and it gets quite steep
oh look at that dirt and the color are insane
yeah it's okay I've got a second pair of shoes in the car which by the way I get a lot of questions
my shoes are the physic gravita tensor and the black and white I'm riding right now
at the team edition oh that's good
and I guess that's the end of pandemic which we rode just earlier more flowy
no finger on the brakes as you can see so I can rest a little bit my hands
definitely getting a bit tired nice of course you can
oh you don't bug me at all how are you
how was the ride what did you ride oh nice we did it too
oh wow my kidneys are hurting my lower back my shoulders my hands I can't even feel them
that's why I'm riding this grip
take it away this is difficult like this step right here if you put your
your front wheel in the middle you could very well go otb which stands for over the bars perfect
oh good thing you stopped my left foot started to cramp oh perfect
that was insane let's go first lap mr t one of the classic apparently one of the fastest track
here it's gonna be a challenge to follow dean he knows every single inch of the track and this is
apparently where all the canadian racer train one of those trails super fast really good to
prepare you to the walk up speed
I don't know if you can tell on the gopro but
this is already quite fast
wow I didn't know that people were coming here okay back on track
I can't believe how fun that is but honestly I'm not super comfortable just too fast for me
I'm used to ride much more technical tracks and uh oh my god
without doing the track that's like very difficult to follow
yeah those tracks are not especially hard but the speed is like
quite insane another car but we're good
it's really well built so the way you cross the fire road you really have a good visibility
okay here's the road gap we saw yesterday that's sweet landing looks a bit flat but
I guess the faster you go the less of an impact you have yeah following gene onto the road gap
nice
sick I was definitely riding a bit close but
nice
I guess I should follow the locals for the best lines
yeah that's sick
the one on the right
yo that was so fun
so good dude
so a lot of the trails finish with that section it's not very steep it's got a lot of jumps
yeah buddy
nice
oh I couldn't see anything
yeah dude wow how come I never come and ride here this is just truly insane
no wonder why so many talents are coming from here so this is the last section
it's a pro line it's a jump trail super advanced but it's really fun
yeah dude
lots of break for this one lots of break
yo
pedal transfer I'm gonna try a new ender I did it that was pretty ugly though
nice it's one of the gnarliest runs on the mountain it's also my favorite if you follow
my speed through the jumps you should be okay hopefully I'm okay okay let's do it
so I've done this lap once yesterday and I remember it being pretty crazy
yeah so it's definitely steeper than the other one
nice catch a bit of a break here
I pre-hopped that not sure if it whoa whoa
so sick to ride behind the locals and all the lines
this got really good style on the bike yeah dude
onto the drop
yeah such a smooth landing not the drop but the jump after okay and now it gets super steep
I almost missed that corner all right so we're coming into the bottom section of daisy dukes
this one has a lot of different jumps we've got to be precise on them follow my speed follow my line
so impact on that was like pretty gnar
oh terrible line for me
oh I know you love your skinnies
yeah glad it's over
this is the big ender drop you have to be precise on the landing yeah this is a big one you don't
want to overshoot this one you don't want to case it either you got to be precise okay following
onto the drop it helps to follow someone but it's also scary
I went a bit deep you had a nice style of it thanks bro sick okay onto that step down
follow you I've actually never followed anyone down that
whoa Drew is uh not playing nice
that part is sick
nice
yeah using the burn slow down this is one of the best sections of trail I've ridden anywhere
yo yeah that was epic nice onto the ticks
oh
so sick
yo Drew is stunning it today
yeah dude
yo
nice one dude
that was awesome that was sweet you're flying yeah
so this is uh quite raw as you can see
it's definitely the steepest and roughest trail we've ridden here
quite exposed too
yeah dude
dude you're flying
nice
yeah dude got something on my wheels that's so sick yeah
so sick thanks a lot for watching that video I hope you enjoyed it part two is coming next week
and remember you can save 10% with the code remy10 on the entire GoPro website and when you
