I think the most common thing I see is people not believing in what they want to achieve,
which is essentially a reflection of themselves, which is people not believing in themselves
to be able to X and working through that.
I think more often than not, I tend to say it's a simple formula.
You can see it.
You can feel it.
And if you believe it, you're more likely to achieve it.
And I see the number one place where people get stuck is in the believing piece of it.
So we typically work more on the believing.
Most of my clients, I'd say we come into the space of working on the beliefs.
Welcome to super entrepreneurs podcast.
Today we have with us Vivian Garcia Tunon.
Vivian is the founder of VGT people advisory, which helps founders and senior executives
achieve their biggest career goals and corporate objectives by working with them to identify
and resolve areas that are limiting their performance.
Oh, amazing.
Love it.
Welcome Vivian.
Thank you.
Thrilled to be here with you today.
Oh, it's great to have you as well.
Can you elaborate a little bit on this please?
What does it look like in your day-to-day life?
My day-to-day life is speaking with different founders and executors, being conversations
with them, improve their performance.
And so generally speaking, so we tuning into improving mindsets, improving approaches to
their more effective impacts in their day-to-day with their people as well as within the business.
So what is the most common weakness that you find?
I guess I wouldn't even call it a weakness, but I think the most common thing I see is
people not believing in what they want to achieve, which is essentially a reflection
of themselves, which is people not believing in themselves to be able to X and working
through that.
I think more often than not, I tend to say it's a simple formula.
You can see it, you can feel it.
And if you believe this, you're more likely to achieve it.
And these are the number one place where people get stuck is in the believing piece of it.
So we typically work more on the believing.
Most of my clients, I'd say we come into the space of working on the beliefs around.
Oh yeah, a hundred percent, completely.
I love this stuff because the belief in yourself is probably the most potent quality that you
can have, especially in business, because if you don't have the belief, you're not going
to be persistent.
If you don't have belief, you're not going to be in a good mood on a daily basis to do
the work that you have to do.
You, you lack on consistency, lack on quality.
Everyone can tell because everything, you know, is vibrationally, everybody can sense
when things are off, it's not good for business.
So there's a lot of negatives with not believing.
And there's usually those components that they're blockages that you probably have to
work on with them that are holding them back from the belief.
Absolutely.
And I think you bring up a good point, which is most of the time people aren't talking
directly to the individuals about what they're observing.
So the leader that I'm working with could be the blockage in the organization, but they
don't know it because no one's telling them that this is what's going on.
That tends to be a very common situation is everyone sees the blockage.
No one knows how to improve it.
And everyone is also scared to address it.
So they just ignore it.
Yes.
That self-awareness, right?
Like for me in the past, if someone said that you need to work on your mindset, you
need to look at things differently.
I would think that they're insane because I was feeling on, yeah, I was feeling on top
of the world, like consciously.
I thought I had it all down packed, but there was so much that I had to work on.
I had no idea, but on the surface level, I never looked in the mirror.
I always was looking outside, trying to fix things on the outside.
I love how you say that.
I think more often than not, the way that we have been raised in kind of our society
is we're looking at external validation.
So we're, we're looking to see how people respond to us.
We're looking to see how people react to us.
We're being trained with other people's thoughts around our education and kind
of, so we don't, we aren't really given our own space to cultivate as much.
Our inner clarity.
And so I think a lot of people come to this moment in their careers, which realize
that they have inner clarity to create for themselves.
And they do that.
So is there any kind of, yeah, yeah, for sure.
Everyone wants that, right?
It's just many don't realize that they need it.
Yes.
And that's where you come into the picture.
So how do you get to the bottom of this?
Can you share some questioning that you do or some strategies to find out
or someone listening could do at home?
Yeah, good question.
I would say part of what I typically do is I have them
envision what they really want.
And so I give it them through a visualization, envisioning their life a
year from now, two years from now, three years from now, and envisioning the
changes that they would like to see and would like to experience.
So it really helps with the seeing and the kind of connecting to the feelings
of what you will experience when you're CEO, when you're successful, when you
have your family, when you have your six homes, whatever it might be, but as
you're going through this process, getting crystal clear on what are the
beliefs that are coming up for you afterwards.
So you go through the visualization, you write it all down.
You can experience it.
You know what it feels like.
However, what are the beliefs that are, that you see about these goals right now?
It's going to be hard.
It's going to be challenging.
It's going to be, I don't have what it takes.
So normally it's writing down what are the beliefs that you have about this
and starting to work on taking a look at those beliefs and learning
to change them for yourself.
Because you can unlock anything.
I'm just a catalyst to help you see it.
It's only you that's willing to be able to make the change.
I can't do it for you.
Unfortunately,
even when you go to the gym or you have a personal trainer, he's
not doing the pushups for you.
You got to put in the work.
And I think that having been in this business for eight years now, I think
that's what I see is there are people that say they want the results and there
are people that are willing to do the work to get to the results.
So to your point around the gym, you have to show up consistently.
You have to be willing to, because I mean, you have to be willing to do
your reps for yourself off.
Oftentimes I've had very successful entrepreneurs have immediate success in
a short period of time.
However, we're still hitting upper limits.
We're still hitting beliefs as we're growing through this journey.
So most of the time they come back and say, okay, I have something else we need
to work on because now that I've reached this success, there's something else
that's getting in my way of the next year.
It's certainly interesting to see how we get in our own way at times.
Yeah, it's such a good point, Vivian.
We definitely get in our own way, especially when it comes to achieving
growth or success or moving towards our goal, the inner critic, the
conditioning or the programming, whatever you want to call it, the
previous ideas that we have, they keep popping up, right?
They keep showing up.
Even when you're trying to be consistent, they just boom, boom.
They're like, oh, you don't need to do this today kind of thing.
Definitely.
That's why it's super important to work with a mentor like yourself, like to
work with someone, work with a professional because they can actually
guide you and hold your hand in that process because without it, it's so easy
to fall back.
I agree.
And I think part of it is also surrounding yourself with people that
have a growth mindset.
Exactly.
I think sometimes when you're going through so much growth, it's about
ensuring that you have people committed to this journey with you because it can
get lonely.
It can get because as you continue to grow and you have different symptoms
around you, making sure that you still have people that understand you, connect
you and will support you, I think is really important.
That's very important.
So can you share the, without naming names of course, but the most difficult
situation or client, their situation, meaning and what you did to resolve it
and to achieve the success that they're looking for.
Do you have a picture you can paint for us?
Yes.
I would say the most difficult.
Candidly, I would say, yeah, go ahead.
We all have our barriers, right?
Blockages.
And it's so amazing once we remove them and we get out of our own way and we find
out how incredibly gifted and strong we are individually, every human being.
It just opens up a new world and we just start making things happen.
It just, it feels so super, but then to get there is difficult for some
situations.
So just want to understand what kind of situation that you went through helping
someone and how you overcome it and how they found success.
So I would say oftentimes when people leave kind of corporate environments to
go out and launch businesses, take for granted the people element, how to work
with people to get things done and how all business is really working with people.
And so I had a client that came to me and said, this incredible business idea,
this incredible team that I'm ready to do work with and I'm ready to launch, but I
need to go fundraise.
And he said, okay.
And the vision was to fundraise.
I think it was probably, let's say a hundred million dollars the first year.
And it was in the fundraising.
It was very clear that how you engage with people about money.
It's something that's very personal.
And having been in a large corporation, they were used to more transactional
relationships.
They would just get what they needed.
They would send an email and say, Hey, I need this much money.
Do you accept?
Yes, we approve.
And so he didn't realize the amount of actual investment in relationships and
actually investing in the other person that was required to achieve this long
story short, we went through countless months of feeling the pain of not being
able to effectively engage with people because it was a new way of engaging with
people as a much more personal, as a much more intimate person.
Thankfully, he was willing to open his kimono, show what he was communicating,
show his emails.
We would role play each of the different conversations.
And truly within six months, I remember the day he was able to reach his first
milestone at this point, he's close to a billion dollars under assets under
management, which has been tremendously successful in a short period of time.
And he really was almost ready to give up on his business idea because he was so
frustrated with getting through these people.
I don't know how to work with people.
And I think at the end of the day, it's really learning how we all can have the
best possible relationships with people and how we engage best with one another
that we get the results that we're looking for.
And most of that work that you did with that individual was his
own internal work, correct?
Exactly.
So he, it was really helping him see how am I engaging with people?
What's the impact that I'm having?
I had to have some pretty honest conversations.
You're coming across as arrogant.
You're coming across as you don't care about the person.
You're not being personal.
You're asking a person to write a check for you and you're just expecting them to
say yes, but you haven't engaged them in any way that they're going to want to
write a check.
So we had to learn about motives and underlying fears and how to truly be in
alignment with the message that he was going out to the market with to start
getting different results.
Because I think they say only 5% is verbal communication.
And so the rest of it is body language and unspoken, what's unsaid.
And so I think there were a lot more things that were being unsaid in his
communication that we needed to clear up for people to feel aligned with it.
So Vivian, on the unsaid, do you believe is vibrationally we pick up?
Absolutely.
Okay, good.
I just want to make sure.
Oh, absolutely.
I find myself in a place in my own life where vibrationally I feel things really
fast and I can feel the unsaid oftentimes more than I can feel the language.
I think that often is the most common place where clients are shocked because
in our day to day life, people are more focused on the written than the
vibration underneath it.
And so when I'm like, no, actually that is totally not in alignment with you.
And that is fear based thought that you have.
I'll be like, what do you mean?
And I'll be like, it's very obvious that it's not in alignment with your highest
self and it's not in alignment with what you want to do.
So oftentimes that's how my immediate notice is where am I not in alignment
with myself and with clients.
And you become more aware of the vibration or the communication.
The unspoken communication is when your own mind gets calmer.
When you become calm within, you start understanding and sensing that
communication and the more you give it attention, it just amplifies.
You start understanding others more and more without words.
Absolutely.
So how did you learn that about yourself?
How did you get on that journey?
Oh, it was a long story, but yeah, during COVID things just started going
backwards for me and I realized that it's something that I need to change.
I was an ego based entrepreneur getting wanting needy, needy, and it was not
getting me to where I needed to go.
And I felt very frustrated and angry and jealous and all that kind of stuff.
So I, I realized that there's something that I need to do.
I never thought that before until COVID and I went on a journey and that journey
hasn't ended and it just keeps getting more and more beautiful.
You feel like you're just meet somewhere in the beginning.
And then when you get there, you say, okay, this is it.
I'm here.
And then something else happens.
You go even further, kind of expand.
And when you get there, okay, this is it.
And then when it happened a few times, you realize that, okay, this is infinite.
This is not.
That's why it gets really exciting.
That's incredible.
Um, and I think a lot of people have gone on similar journeys to that.
So I think it's easy to go into the entrepreneurial vision with the ego.
And a lot of people do come at it from an ego perspective in the sense that
they're there to prove themselves being angry with their last situation.
And so they aren't actually approaching it from a reactive perspective.
Handedly, I can say the same thing about myself.
I was burned out and looking for a change and I got my calling.
I was clear on what I wanted, but I felt like I had to prove myself.
And when you go through that journey of feeling like you have to prove yourself
based on the fear and insecurity and kind of getting yourself to the place of
acceptance, uh, being in a place that they know in service, continuing to expand
skills, it really wasn't ego.
It was really,
yes, yes.
That's wonderful.
That's great.
Vivian, can you share with us what you feel your innermost superpower
is that got you to this point?
Well, good question.
So this is something that I've been reflecting on a lot recently, and I think
it's my ability to feel someone else's inner feelings and be able to truly sit
with them to be able to release them.
So most of the time, I think this is more energetically than it is actually
from a physical experience from the verbal experience.
But oftentimes what I find is we all have some kind of inner tension going on and
normally feel them pretty quickly.
And so when I can feel that tension or that emotion, anxiety, sadness, whatever
it might be, being able to sit with it in a very loving environment allows people
to release it in a really fast way.
So more often than not during our coaching client calls that happens there, they may
not be aware of it at the time, but inside of me, I know what kind of a
transformation that's going on that they're releasing.
I love that.
Vivian, it was wonderful talking to you.
I love this topic and I love the work that individuals like yourself are doing
out there because it doesn't stop with that one person that you help, because
when you help that one person, it expands into the people that they know.
And like you mentioned, the energy part is just transfer on.
Even goodness can expand in a very beautiful way.
And what you do is so important because the more we do this, the more people
can find that fulfillment today.
They'll have to wait to get something to find it that they may think they need, but
they can find it today and work from it today and build their business, build a
life around that, and that there's nothing like it.
Absolutely.
Yeah, that's great.
Appreciate your time today, Vivian.
And thank you so much for taking the time to come on our show.
Thank you.
It's been a great talking to you and learning about your journey as well.
Thank you.
Thank you so much, audience.
Thanks again for joining us.
Vivian's information will be in the show notes.
You can tell that her superpower is that she can help you basically when you sit
with someone like that, that can sense that what is going on within is a big
benefit because now you speed up the whole entire process, right?
Sometimes we don't, we can't see it in ourselves.
We're not used to that self-awareness.
With time, as you practice it, as you work on it, it amplifies to an infinite level.
But initially you want to meet someone that can sense that and help you from day
one, and thanks again for joining us and helping us grow without you, we could not
grow.
Thank you so much.
And thank you, Vivian.
