MLB Highlights _ Blue Jays vs Rays - September 15, 2025

The Blue Jays did not have any fun at all in this ballpark in May the O2 swung on and missed there's four ninety eight from Boyle. This is bounced down to second there's one and on to first in time as the Rays turn it and retire the Blue Jays pretty quickly here in the top of the first which means it's time for Treya Savage to head to a big league mound for the first time. They only see the top half of the baseball and there have been some pitchers in the past and throw like this and had a lot of success. This one lined into the right field corner. Simpson's going to race around third on his way to the plate and he will come in to score on an RBI double by Diaz. Sometimes you Savage a slider will even go away from the left handed hitters. Comes right back with it and he strikes out Lowe on three pitches. Tyler Heinemann asked for the baseball he's going to have it authenticated because that's the first big league strikeout for Treya Savage and they'll send it over to the authenticator. Round ball over the mound charged by Jimenez and he makes a good play to get Lowe for out number two as the runners advance to ninety eight on the season over four hundred his last 17 games. But he hits a ground ball to short and you Savage gets out of it giving up just the one run. The family loves it. He's back to the dugout to catch his breath and think about the second. You remember Bo hit that pinch hit home run to salvage the game and win the series. And a backdoor breaking ball a slider at ninety two on the outside corner to get Varsho to down. And that time he got him to chase it again to the split Heinemann down to first to complete the out to down. Got him fastball at ninety six for strike three called. And what a good second inning. Look how excited dad and the rest of the family are. Who look at the nasty movement on that. That's a slider at ninety three that winds up way down and in a Heinemann shaking his head on his way back to the dugout third slider. Got him with the splitter again. The second time tonight he strikes out Brandon Lowe. Yeah that was a very good splitter. And he got him. Look at the movement on that split and just a touch of emotion there. Swing and a miss he got him throughout number two. So they've changed some of the things about that. He just struck out the side on ten pitches in the fourth. Who's loving it more than the Savage family. The Red Sox are coming to town. Swing and a miss. Simpson chases a splitter Heinemann down to first three up three down again and nine strikeouts through five innings for Treya Savage. Ernie Clement will lead it off. He hooks one down the left field line and that's a fair ball. And Clement is on his way to second with his thirty first double of the season. If you're going to buy it you got to buy it to the third baseman. Andy Diaz is only about 50 feet away from home right now. He squares and he pushes in third. It's a good one it's a very good one and it does indeed advance to Clement Clement to third a nice sacrifice but there by Tyler Heinemann. Fly ball to left field. Is it deep enough. Simpson coming in makes the catch. Here comes Clement and he's in ahead of the throw to tie the game. Jimenez sac fly and it's one one. Yandy Diaz maybe Brandon Lowe Springer went around Lowe Diaz says he went around Springer saying at least ask down at first. But Diaz will ring him up and John Schneider doesn't want Springer to get tossed so the skipper is out. Grounded down to third diving stop by Barger and he throws him out. What a great play by Addison Barger. Absolutely terrific. I mean that's a classic third baseman's play. Dives to his left Heinemann's throw and safe at second is Mangum. Look back at Mangum and the pitch got it. Jeff Hoffman strikes out a couple here to the ninth inning and got him. Cortez will fire it down to first. The Blue Jays are retired and they do not score. So it's tied at one going to the bottom of the 10th here in Tampa. Braden Fischer coming in. The pitch from Kelly. Base hit in the left field and Ernie Clement is rounding third and on his way in to score the go ahead run. One two got him Braden Fischer with an unbelievable job here in extra innings two scoreless innings. What a major league debut for Treya Savage. Think he had any fun here in his first day in the big leagues and the Blue Jays find a way to win this game.
