In this video, I make a lot of mods to get the front window casing to fit.

Alright, let's see what we're working with over here.
Alright, I can already see a problem.
This has not been flush trim cut.
You can see that lip right there.
So that's going to be a problem.
This is going to be a problem here.
This side feels okay.
These two boards and this one need to be trimmed back at a minimum if this is going to fit.
So let me get that done and then we'll give it a try.
Alright, if I'm lucky I'll be able to get that to slip in now that those are cut.
But I've got to clean up all the sawdust everywhere.
So let me go grab and see if I've got another battery for the vacuum and let's get that cleaned up.
Before I get to that though, I've got to clean up all this mess.
And I had just enough battery to clean out that window before putting in the casing.
Then my battery ran out so this uses a 12 volt battery.
I hope I've got some extras.
I usually bring a bunch of 18 volt.
Hopefully I threw a couple of 12 volts in there too.
Alright, I didn't bring any M12 batteries.
But luckily I've got a charger here that does charge M12 batteries so I can get this charged.
Alright, that will turn green when it's charged.
So until then, can't vacuum.
I just can't get it cleaned up without a vacuum.
I guess I can throw it up there just to see how off I am.
See if I need to do any more trim work while I'm waiting for my battery to charge.
Alright, I'm okay side to side in here but not bottom to top.
This one I'm okay bottom to top but not side to side.
So I've still got a lot of work to do anyway before I'm going to get that thing to fit.
So let me get to working on that.
Alright, I finally got that in.
There's an awful lot of trimming I had to do.
Mainly here.
This wasn't too bad.
Here and here.
And I was able to get it in.
So let's make this permanent.
I'm going to have to come back and fill those in.
Alright, I was able to get those in.
I thought they would just, well I was hoping they would just slip in.
It would be a really short video.
But I got them in either way.
A couple of things that I picked up.
One, don't take your measurements at one place and build them in another.
That's just, that's a recipe for not going to fit.
And two, give yourself some play.
If you measure 24 inches, don't build your casing 24 inches.
Build it a little bit smaller so you give yourself some play.
So if I had done at least one of those, I wouldn't have had any issues whatsoever putting these in.
But I didn't do either one.
So I had some problems.
And it took a lot longer to get these installed than it should have.
But I've never done this before.
And now I know.
So if I ever get in a situation where I've got to do this again, I'll do it the correct way.
And I won't have any issues.
But I'm happy with it. I think it looks good.
And it sure looks a lot better than having those bare open walls with all that scraggly foam hanging out and nail holes and what not.
So I'm happy with it.
But that's going to do it for this video.
So I'll talk to you guys later.
